This study is a preliminary investigation of an integrative treatment aimed at improving the efficacy of cognitive therapy (CT) for depression. The development of the treatment protocol was based on process findings, which suggested that strategies used in CT to resolve alliance ruptures may actually exacerbate problems in the therapeutic relationship. The protocol integrates, within the traditional CT treatment manual, procedures to repair alliance ruptures that are derived from or consistent with humanistic and interpersonal therapies. Although conducted by inexperienced therapists, the integrative treatment led to greater improvement than a waiting-list condition. The results also compare favorably to previous findings for CT. This work describes the preparation and characterization of composite materials obtained by the combination of natural rubber (NR) and carbon black (CB) in different percentages, aiming to improve their mechanical properties, processability, and electrical conductivity, aiming future applications as transducer in pressure sensors. The composites NR/CB were characterized through optical microscopy (OM), DC conductivity, thermal analysis using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMA), thermogravimetry (TGA), and stress–strain test. The electrical conductivity varied between 10?9 and 10 S m?1, depending on the percentage of CB in the composite. Furthermore, a linear (and reversible) dependence of the conductivity on the applied pressure between 0 and 1.6 MPa was observed for the sample with containing 80 wt % of NR and 20% of CB. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, we report the controlled fabrication of layer-by-layer (LbL) films deposited on gold substrates with three different supramolecular architectures using polypyrrole (Ppy) and magnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4-np), besides conventional poly(allylamine hydrochloride) (PAH) e poly(vinyl sulfonic acid) (PVS) polyelectrolytes, demonstrating the synergistic effect between Ppy and Fe3O4-np such as a result of their interaction. Modified gold electrodes were analyzed by contact angle (wettability), surface plasmon resonance (SPR), raman spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The (Fe3O4-np/Ppy)3 architecture was also evaluated by scanning electron microscopy. The modified gold electrodes present more homogeneous covering, higher electron transfer and a decrease of resistance with the incorporation of the nanostructured materials such as Ppy and Fe3O4-np forming (Fe3O4-np/Ppy)3 LbL film. The results carried out in this study suggest that the (Fe3O4-np/Ppy)3 LbL film can be applied as a possible electrochemical or optical non-enzymatic sensor for analytical detection. 相似文献

Understanding the TCP congestion control mechanism from a global optimization point of view is not only important in its own right, but also crucial to the design of other transport layer traffic control protocols with provable properties. In this paper, we derive a global utility function and the corresponding optimal control law, known as TCP control law, which maximizes the global utility. The TCP control law captures the essential behaviors of TCP, including slow start, congestion avoidance, and the binary nature of congestion feedback in TCP. We find that the utility function of TCP is linear in the slow start phase and is proportional to the additive increase rate and approaches the well-known logarithm function as the data rate becomes large in the congestion avoidance phase. We also find that understanding the slow start phase with a fixed threshold is critical to the design of new transport layer control protocols to enable quality of service features. Finally, as an application, we design a Minimum Rate Guaranteed (MRG) traffic control law that shares the same utility function as the TCP control law. Our simulation study of the MRG control law indicates that it is indeed TCP friendly and can provide minimum rate guarantee as long as the percentage of network resource consumed by the MRG flows is moderately small. 相似文献

The focal point of this paper is the synthesis of controllers under risk-specifications. In recent years there has been a growing interest in the development of techniques for controller design where, instead of requiring that the performance specifications are met for every possible value of admissible uncertainty, it is required that the risk of performance violation is below a small well-defined risk level. In contrast to previous work, where the search for the controller gains is done using randomized algorithms, the results in this paper show that for a class of uncertain linear time invariant systems, the search for the “risk-adjusted” controller can be done efficiently using deterministic algorithms. More precisely, for the case when the characteristic polynomial of the closed loop system depends affinely on the uncertainty, we provide a convex parametrization of “risk-adjusted” stabilizing controllers. 相似文献

This paper presents optimal supervisory control of dynamical systems that can be represented by deterministic finite state automaton (DFSA) models. The performance index for the optimal policy is obtained by combining a measure of the supervised plant language with (possible) penalty on disabling of controllable events. The signed real measure quantifies the behaviour of controlled sublanguages based on a state transition cost matrix and a characteristic vector as reported in earlier publications. Synthesis of the optimal control policy requires at most n iterations, where n is the number of states of the DFSA model generated from the unsupervised plant language. The computational complexity of the optimal control synthesis is polynomial in n. Syntheses of the control algorithms are illustrated with two application examples. 相似文献

In this work, spouted bed and tray-drying techniques were employed at different drying air temperatures to produce dried chitosan, and the chitosan powder was used to produce biofilms. The products obtained from each drying technique were compared in relation to quality aspects (molecular weight, lightness, and hue angle). The results found for chitosan in spouted bed drying (90°C) showed lower alteration and best quality aspects in relation to the chitosan powder. However, in tray drying under the best condition (60°C) the chitosan molecular weight increased about 50% in relation to the initial value and browning was observed. The biofilms produced from chitosan dried in the spouted bed showed the best mechanical properties (tensile strength of 42 MPa and elongation of 29%) and lower water vapor permeability (3.95 g mm m?2 kPa?1 day?1). 相似文献
