The pH of red ginseng extracts fermented with Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Saccharomyces carlsbergensis decreased rapidly during 3 days of fermentation, with no further significant change thereafter. After 20 days of fermentation, a relatively small difference remained in the acidity of extracts fermented with S. cerevisiae (0.54%) and S. carlsbergensis (0.58%). Reducing sugar in the S. cerevisiae and S. carlsbergensis extracts decreased from 258.6 to 45.4 and 43.2 mg/mL glucose equivalents, respectively; and ethanol contents increased from 1.5% at day 0 to 16.0 and 15.0%, respectively, at day 20. Ginsenosides Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Re, Rf, and Rg1 decreased during the fermentation with S. cerevisiae, but Rd and Rg3 increased by day 12. Ginsenosides Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Re, and Rg1 decreased gradually in the extract with S. carlsbergensis, but Rd and Rg3 were increased at day 6 and 9, respectively.  相似文献

Acute pancreatitis (AP) is an inflammatory disorder, involving acinar cell death and the release of inflammatory cytokines. Currently, there are limited effective therapeutic agents for AP. Betulinic acid (BA) is a pentacyclic triterpenoid extracted from Betula platyphylla that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of BA on AP and elucidate the potential underlying mechanisms. AP was induced in mice through six intraperitoneal injections of cerulein. After the last cerulein injection, the mice were sacrificed. Our results revealed that pre- and post-treatment with BA significantly reduced the severity of pancreatitis, as evidenced by a decrease in histological damage in the pancreas and lung, serum amylase and lipase activity and pancreatic myeloperoxidase activity. Furthermore, BA pretreatment reduced proinflammatory cytokine production, augmentation of chemokines, and infiltration of macrophages and neutrophils in the pancreas of AP mice. In addition, mice that were pretreated with BA showed a reduction in Iκ-Bα degradation and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) binding activity in the pancreas. Moreover, BA reduced the production of proinflammatory cytokines and NF-κB activation in pancreatic acinar cells (PACs). These findings suggest that BA may have prophylactic and therapeutic effects on AP via inhibition of the NF-κB signaling pathway.  相似文献

In this study, cholesterol (CH), β-sitosterol (SI), and stigmasterol (ST) were explored to improve the stability of retinol in the liposome bilayer. Retinol was incorporated into liposomes composed of soybean-derived L-α-phosphatidylcholine (PC) and 10% sterol (w/w), which were prepared as multilamellar vesicles. Under all conditions, the efficiency of retinol incorporation into liposomes was higher than 99%, and the average particle size of liposomes was similar to that of PC alone. Liposomes were stored at 4 and 25 °C, with and without light, respectively, for 10 days. It was found that during the storage, CH and SI were effective in stabilizing the retinol in liposomes. These results indicate that an appropriate phytosterol could improve the stability of retinol in liposomes.  相似文献

The fracture behaviors of a newly developed iron-powder reinforced carbon/epoxy laminated composite are investigated in this paper. Three kinds of DCB (double cantilever beam) specimens (without iron powder, with iron powder and with iron powder in a magnetic field) were prepared by the ASTM D 5528-94a. For the third DCB specimen, the unidirectional laminas were stacked with iron powder spread evenly on each lamina’s surface. This process was performed in a magnetic field to keep the iron powder standing along the out-plane direction. From the test data of Instron 5567, the fracture toughness, G I , was calculated by using the compliance calibration method for each of the three kinds of specimens. The calculated fracture toughness shows that the iron powder effectively disturbs the progress of fiber branching between the laminates and provides a good stitching to the in-plane laminates during the fracture.  相似文献

Denitrifying bacteria that are switched from oxic to anoxic conditions can experience diauxic lag, which is the time required for re-synthesis of nitrate reductase and other denitrifying enzymes. Pseudomonas denitrificans were exposed to alternating oxic/anoxic phases in a continuous flow reactor with either 4-h or 8-h anoxic phase lengths, in comparison to a measured diauxic lag of 9.5 h following steady-state oxic conditions. The P. denitrificans were unable to sustain anoxic growth at either of the anoxic phase lengths tested. Diauxic lag observed after several cycles of alternating oxic/anoxic phases was significantly longer than the diauxic lag measured after steady-state oxic conditions. This may be attributed to increase of cell maintenance energy requirements due to substrate accumulation during anoxic phases and concomitant high specific growth rates during oxic phases.  相似文献

Low temperature (less than 600 degrees C) deposition of carbon nanofilaments (CNFs) could be achieved on the silicon oxide substrate by thermal chemical vapor deposition system. We used Fe(CO)5 as the catalyst precursor for CNFs formation. For the enhancement of CNFs formation density, the source gas flow was intentionally manipulated as the cyclic on/off modulation of C2H2/H2 flow during the initial deposition stage. The CNFs formation density on silicon oxide substrate could be much enhanced by the cyclic modulation process having the higher growing/etching time ratio (180/30 s). Furthermore, the lattice structures of CNFs developed into carbon nanotubes at the higher growing/etching time ratio (180/30 s) case. The solely hydrogen gas feeding (C2H2 flow off) time during the initial deposition stage seems to play an important role for the variation in the CNFs formation characteristics by the cyclic modulation process.  相似文献

The addition of nanosized AlN particles to Sn-3.0 wt pctAg-0.5 wt pctCu (SAC305) lead-free solder alloy has been investigated. The various weight fractions of AlN (0, 0.03, 0.12, 0.21, 0.60 wt pct) have been dispersed in SAC305 solder matrix by a mechanical mixing and melting route. The influences of AlN nanosized particles on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and solderability (e.g., spreadability and wettability) have been carried out. The structural and morphological features of the nanocomposite solder were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The experimental results show that the best combination of solderability and mechanical properties is obtained at 0.21 wt pct AlN in the solder matrix. The reinforced composite solder with 0.21 wt pct AlN nanoparticles shows ≈25 pct improvement in ultimate tensile strength (UTS), and ≈4 pct increase in the spreadability. In addition, the results of microstructural analyses of composite solders indicate that the nanocomposite solder, especially reinforced with 0.21 wt pct of AlN nanoparticles, exhibits better microstructure and improved elongation percentage, compared with the monolithic SAC305 solder.
