Requirements engineering (RE) is a critical phase in the software engineering process and plays a vital role in ensuring the overall quality of a software product. Recent research has shown that industry increasingly recognizes the importance of good RE practices and the use of appropriate RE techniques. However, due to the large number of RE techniques, requirements engineers find it challenging to select suitable techniques for a particular project. Unfortunately, technique selection based on personal experience has limitations with regards to the scope, effectiveness and suitability of the RE techniques for the project at hand. In this paper, a Knowledge-based Approach for the Selection of Requirements Engineering Techniques (KASRET) is proposed that helps during RE techniques selection. This approach has three major features. First, a library of requirements techniques was developed which includes detailed knowledge about RE techniques. Second, KASRET integrates advantages of different knowledge representation schemata and reasoning mechanisms. Thus, KASRET provides mechanisms for the management of knowledge about requirements techniques and support for RE process development. Third, as a major decision support mechanism, an objective function evaluates the overall ability and cost of RE techniques, which is helpful for the selection of RE techniques. This paper makes not only a contribution to RE but also to research and application of knowledge management and decision support in process development. A case study using an industrial project shows the support of KASRET for RE techniques selection.

Recent and past food scandals highlight the urgent need for food safety authorities to anticipate future risks in order to enable improved and proactive response mechanisms. With this goal in mind, the Bavarian Health and Food Safety Authority (LGL) has established an early warning system aimed at early identification of potential health risks and fraudulent practices in the food sector. The early warning approach allows intervention at different stages of risk development. On the one hand, the scanning of a broad area of the food production chain (horizon scanning) may enable prospective risk identification. To this end, relevant factors of influence (drivers) need to be identified, observed and analyzed. On the other hand, the retrospective analysis of case studies may unravel novel cause-effect associations that could be transferred to other products and production technologies, possibly leading to the identification of new drivers (root cause analysis). Additionally, various datasets emanating from food safety authorities, for example data from the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) and from Bavarian-wide laboratory analyses and food business inspections, will be closely observed and analyzed. The multidisciplinary character of the LGL has proven to be essential for the realization of the early warning approach, the analysis of inflowing data and implementation of consequences such as food business inspections and sampling for analysis. This article details the objectives and methodical approaches of the project. The acquisition of systematically compiled information as well as its analysis and assessment are comprehensively described. The early warning system presented here has already contributed significantly to the risk-oriented food inspection practiced to date, by integrating novel risk-relevant aspects.  相似文献

This well written and interesting book offers comprehensive coverage of how the American Psychological Association (APA) Ethical Principles of Psychologists (1981) apply in any setting where psychologists are involved. This book should be of special interest to Canadians who are interested in the new Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) Code of Ethics. The CPA Code organized the areas of concern covered by the APA code, plus new and emerging issues, under an umbrella of four general principles and many associated standards of conduct. Both the book and the CPA Code attempt to raise the level of consciousness about ethical issues and ethical decision-making. The result? They complement each other and together provide a useful combination of philosophy, standards, and concrete examples of unethical or questionable behaviour by a psychologist. All who read this book will become aware of the complexity associated with ethics in the practice of psychology. An axisymmetrical shell element for large deformations is developed by using Ogden's non-linear elastic material law. This constitutive equation, however, demands the neglect of transverse shear deformations in order to yield a consistent theory. Therefore, the theory can be applied to thin shells only. Eventually a ‘quasi-Kirchhoff-type theory’ emerges. Within this approach the computation of the deformed director vector d is a main assumption which is essential to describe the fully non-linear bending behaviour. Furthermore, special attention is paid to the linearization procedure in order to obtain quadratic convergence behaviour within Newton's method. Finally, the finite element formulation for a conical two-node element is given. Several examples show the applicability and performance of the proposed formulation.  相似文献

There is an increasing need to build an understanding of group facilitation in distributed requirements engineering. Group facilitation is an important element of group approaches to requirements engineering, which is being challenged by the emergence of distributed practices in software specification and development. Thus thorough empirical investigation of human facilitation in computer-mediated requirements meetings is needed. This paper presents an exploratory study of facilitation in distributed requirements teams. Three professional facilitators mediate 15 three-person groups in an experimental simulation of software requirements negotiation. Facilitation in face-to-face meetings is contrasted with four group settings in which the facilitator is physically separated from the group or co-located with key stakeholders. Rich qualitative and behavioural data enables an understanding of differences and similarities in the facilitation of face-to-face and distributed groups and of aspects that were detrimental or beneficial to their facilitation. The empirical evidence indicates that a reduced richness of social behaviours in computer-mediated group settings (1) made the group facilitation problematic but also (2) enabled certain facilitation support in the medium itself. The findings of the study are discussed in the light of existing models of the role of the facilitator. Advice from the expert facilitators is presented in the form of recommendations for the facilitation of distributed requirements teams, and worthwhile directions for further research are outlined.  相似文献

In 1997 in western Austria, 9.9% of Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains from patients of general practitioners were resistant to imipenem as well as 18.2% of the isolates from hospitals and 20.2% of the strains at a university teaching hospital. Within the hospital the imipenem resistance varied from 9.9% among out-patients to 28.7% in isolates from intensive care units. In medical/surgical words, up to 15.1% of P. aeruginosa strains were resistant to imipenem. The incidence of imipenem-resistant P. aeruginosa strains correlates to the use of carbapenems. In June 1997, 10 consecutive isolates from 8 patients were obtained and typed using restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis (RFLP) and Pyocin typing. All 10 isolates were resistant to meropenem as well as to imipenem. The finding (by RFLP and Pyocin typing) of individual bacterial types in each isolate strongly contradicts the spread of infection by cross infection. However, all patients were proven to have been treated with imipenem during the 3 months prior to testing. In 1997, 13,880 g of imipenem were used at the university hospital in Innsbruck. The use of carbapenems appears to be the main cause for the increased incidence of imipenem-resistant P. aeruginosa strains.  相似文献

The elicitation, modeling and analysis of requirements have consistently been one of the main challenges during the development of complex systems. Telecommunication systems belong to this category of systems due to the worldwide distribution and the heterogeneity of today's telecommunication networks. Scenarios and use cases have become popular for capturing and analyzing requirements. However, little research has been done that compares different approaches and assesses their suitability for the telecommunications domain. This paper defines evaluation criteria and then reviews fifteen scenario notations. In addition, twenty-six approaches for the construction of design models from scenarios are briefly compared.  相似文献

Beginning and practicing psychologists both need more exposure to ethical training experiences. A new Canadian code of ethics provides an opportunity for universities to review their approach to this experience for students in clinical and counseling psychology. In the Canadian code, four basic ethical principles, followed by value statements and standards of behavior, are proposed. This structure provides a useful framework for ethics education. In addition, the problem-solving approach to ethical and moral dilemmas provides a better decision-making process for new psychologists than does simple exposure to professional behavior guidelines. The approach used at the University of Alberta is presented with the recommendation that ethical instruction focus on personal values and the process of informed decision making as well as learning "correct" responses.
