Polypropylene/organoclay nanocomposites containing nucleating agents, viz., aluminum hydroxybis[2,2-methylenebis(4,6-di-tert-butylphenyl) phosphate (NA21) and 1,3:2,4-bis(3,4-dimethylbenzylidene)sorbitol (Millad 3988), were prepared by direct melt intercalation in a twin-screw extruder. Nucleating agents were added to polypropylene during compounding and their effect on the properties of the nanocomposites was studied. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) exhibited clay layers to be intercalated and partially exfoliated. The expansion of inter-gallery distance of the clay layers was governed by the interaction between polypropylene, compatibilizer, and different nucleating agents. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) indicated higher thermal stability and crystallization temperature for nanocomposites compared to virgin polymer. Even a small addition of the nanoscale filler with 0.2% nucleating agents was found to promote concurrently several PP material properties, including improved tensile characteristics, higher Young’s modulus, increased thermal stability and rate of crystallization.  相似文献

The role of monoamine oxidase (MAO) type A and B on the metabolism of dopamine (DA) in discrete regions of the monkey brain was studied. Monkeys were administered (-)-deprenyl (0.25 mg/kg) or clorgyline (1.0 mg/kg) or deprenyl and clorgyline together by intramuscular injections for 8 days. Levels of DA and its metabolites, dihydroxy phenylacetic acid (DOPAC) and homovanillic acid (HVA) were estimated in frontal cortex (FC), motor cortex (MC), occipital cortex (OC), entorhinal cortex (EC), hippocampus (HI), hypothalamus (HY), caudate nucleus (CN), globus pallidus (GP) and substantia nigra (SN). (-)-Deprenyl administration significantly increased DA levels in FC, HY, CN, GP and SN (39-87%). This was accompanied by a reduction in the levels of DOPAC (37-66%) and HVA (27-79%). Clorgyline administration resulted in MAO-A inhibition by more than 87% but failed to increase DA levels in any of the brain regions studied. Combined treatment of (-)-deprenyl and clorgyline inhibited both types of MAO by more than 90% and DA levels were increased (57-245%) in all brain regions studied with a corresponding decrease in the DOPAC (49-83%) and HVA (54-88%) levels. Our results suggest that DA is metabolized preferentially, if not exclusively by MAO-B in some regions of the monkey brain.  相似文献

We demonstrate the synthesis and characteristics of multifunctional poly(styrene-co-fluorescein O-methacrylate)/poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)-Fe3O4 [P(St/FMA)/PNIPAAm-Fe3O4] core/shell composite particles, in which the core consists of fluorescent materials and the shell consists of magnetic and thermo-responsive components. First, core/shell particles consisting of a fluorescent P(St/FMA) core and thermo-responsive PNIPAAm-rich shell were prepared by two-stage shot-growth emulsion polymerization. Next, Fe3O4 nanoparticles were immobilized via electrostatic interactions and then covalently linked to the shell via surface coordinated Aphen by a coupling reaction in order to obtain magnetic properties. The morphology of P(St/FMA)/PNIPAAm-Fe3O4 composite particles, confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), reveals that Fe3O4 nanoparticles are located in the PNIPAAm shell. The thermo-sensitivity of composite particles to hydrodynamic diameter was confirmed by using dynamic light scattering (DLS). Photoluminescence (PL) spectra indicate that the fluorescence emission intensity of core/shell particles is highly sensitive to the pH of an aqueous medium. The core/shell composite particles exhibited a combination of fluorescent, magnetic, pH and thermo-responsive behavior.  相似文献
