An investigation of the effect of reaction conditions on product distribution in the skeletal isomerisation reaction of linear butenes has been carried out. The main reaction routes over ferrierite have been identified. Beside the main product isobutene, major by-product formation occurs. The unwanted reactions include dimerisation of butene to form octenes, hydrogen transfer yielding small amounts of saturated C3 and C4 hydrocarbons and disproportionation producing propene and pentenes. The most abundant by-products were pentene and propene, though these were not formed in equimolar amounts as could be expected. Oligomerisation experiments of propene over ferrierite produced large amounts of butene and pentene, revealing the presence of adsorbed nonene. The cracking of this surface species to hexene and propene is the most likely reaction route for the excess propene formation. This additional path to propene formation operates mainly at temperatures above 623 K.  相似文献

Abstract

Part 1 of this paper analyzes the concepts of institutional capacity building and of integrated water resources management, on the basis of recent publications. The authors, building on the work of others, combine this into a conceptual framework for institutional capacity building in the water resources sector. A matrix approach is developed that allows the analysis of project activities, projects and possibly even complete sector programs. At the same time various aspects of process orientation of projects and programs are distinguished and described. The result is a set of analysis tools specifically oriented towards the evaluation of institutional capacity building projects and programs in the water resources sector. Part 2 presents a number of case studies and shows the application of the set of analysis tools. The same set of tools can also be used for the design of such projects or programs, but this is not covered in the present papers.  相似文献

Samples of 220 kV cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated cables were studied by means of video microscopy and electrical treeing tests. The morphology of extruded dielectric has been shown to be of importance. The tree initiation voltage level improved some 20% when the morphology was influenced by means of screw engineering. PURPOSE: The relationship of the division of the diaphragm during thoracoabdominal aortic repair to prolonged ventilator support has not been studied. The purpose of this study was (1) to determine whether preservation of diaphragm integrity has a significant effect on postoperative ventilator duration and (2) to elucidate other pulmonary risk factors related to thoracoabdominal aortic surgery and to study the relationship of these factors to the intact diaphragm technique. METHODS:Between February 1991 and January 1997, we repaired 397 descending and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms. Descending thoracic aneurysms were not included in the study because their repair does not include the diaphragm. A total of 256 patients participated in this study. The diaphragm was divided in 150 patients and left intact in 106 patients. Examined as potential risk factors were patient demographics, history and physical findings, aneurysm extent, urgency of the procedure, acute dissection, cross-clamp time, homologous and autologous blood product consumption, and adjunctive operative techniques. FEV1 also was considered in the 197 patients for whom preoperative spirometry was available. Prolonged mechanical ventilation was defined as ventilator support for >72 hours. Data were analyzed by univariate contingency table and multiple logistic regression methods. RESULTS: Increasing age (odds ratio [OR], 1.02/y; P <.02), current smoking (OR, 2.6; P <.0008), total cross-clamp time (OR, 1.0/min; P <.008), units packed red blood cells transfused (OR, 1.06/unit; P <.008), and division of the diaphragm (OR, 2.03; P <.02) were significant, independent predictors of prolonged ventilation. Sixty-seven percent of patients (71 of 106) whose diaphragms were preserved were extubated in <72 hours compared with 52% of patients (78 of 150) who underwent diaphragm division (OR, 0.53; P <.02). CONCLUSION: Independently of well known pulmonary risk factors, an intact diaphragm during thoracoabdominal aortic repair results in a higher probability of early ventilator weaning.  相似文献

The quality of XLPE insulation of power cables has improved markedly in recent years, and insulation failures caused by contamination have diminished. As a result, focus has shifted on the effects of insulation morphology. There are concerns about the weld lines regarding the anisotropy and frozen-in mechanical stress. The weld line that is formed has different properties than the matrix and the region is considered to be a mechanically weak point. In a recent study, seams were observed in the XLPE insulation of power cable. Their type and intensity vary because of the melt temperature and homogeneity in the extrusion. The mass distribution also has a certain influence. Typically, the seams are quite harmless for the dielectric properties of the insulation. Occasionally, severe weld lines may be considered as possible weak regions in the insulation construction. By performing electrical needle tests on four cable samples, it was found that the weld line containing sector of the cable is measurably weaker than the insulation in general. The rotating mass distributor, or more specifically, the conical extrusion was able to modify, level out and reduce seam effect. While there is no guarantee that the extrusion will have high insulation quality, it is possible to reduce the seams. The traditional extrusion process, however, should be considered as a less robust solution than the rotating mass distributor with respect to the seams.  相似文献

Thin atomic layer deposited (ALD) Al2O3 coatings are efficient barriers against gases and vapors. Al2O3 coatings are, however, brittle and straining them generates defects that impair barrier properties. Flexibility of ALD-grown Al2O3 coatings on biopolymer substrates can be improved by separating thinner Al2O3 layers with inorganic-organic alucone layers. The number and size of defects were smaller for these nanolaminates compared to the thick Al2O3 films after straining, and hence straining deteriorated the oxygen barrier properties less when applied to the laminates than when applied to the Al2O3 coatings.  相似文献

The effect of the screw configuration of a closely intermeshing co-rotating twin-screw extruder on residence time and mixing efficiency was studied for an uncompatibilized immiscible PA6/PP (80:20) bend. Alternative screw configurations were investigated systematically. The residence time distribution (RTD) was found to be a poor indicator of the total mixing efficiency, whereas the mixing intensity function yielded considerably better information. High shear stress, sufficient residence time, and high fill ratio in the melting section of the screw were the most important factors in achieving good dispersion of the minor phase. The evolution of morphology along the screw axis depended strongly on the screw configuration. The downstream flow characteristics after the screw end determined the final morphology of the blend.  相似文献

Novel nanostructured and high surface area tubular materials were produced combining electrospinning and atomic layer deposition processes with the removal of polymeric template via dissolution. The dissolution process changed the structure of the tube walls, and the smooth atomic layer deposition coating was transformed into a highly complex, coral-like structure. This material, which we have called “nanocoral,” has a relatively high surface area, 323 m2 g−1, due to the interconnected cavities formed after the removal of the template. This kind of material has important potential applications, for example, in the fields of catalysts and filtration.  相似文献

The demand for biobased barrier packaging alternatives is constantly growing. Poly(lactic acid) (PLA)‐based polymers are one of the most extensively studied biomass‐derived synthetic polymers; however, they typically lack water‐barrier properties. We synthesized a copolymer of d ,l ‐lactic acid, 1,4‐butanediol, and itaconic acid [poly(d ,l ‐lactic acid–1,4‐butanediol–itaconic acid) (PLABDIA)] via bulk polycondensation. The radical crosslinking reactions of the synthesized polymer were investigated with bulk crosslinking trials to find a formulation that was suitable for a rapidly crosslinkable barrier coating. The crosslinking efficiency was tested with methacrylate and acrylate crosslinkers together with peroxide radical initiators. Poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (number‐average molecular weight = 250 g/mol) together with dilauroyl peroxide proved to be the best crosslinker–initiator combination. An aqueous dispersion of PLABDIA was prepared with a thermomechanical method and applied to commercial boxboard on a pilot‐scale line coater. With a coating weight of 10 g/m2, a water vapor transmission rate of 22.8 g/m2d was achieved, and this coating outperformed commercial extruded PLA coatings. The samples also showed very good grease resistance and would, therefore, be a good solution for the packaging of dry and fatty goods. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym.
