Wrinkle free fabric at low cost is always a desirable aesthetic property. Different type of resins/finishes and pre-heat setting prior to processing are applied to avoid wrinkles in woven and hosiery, respectively. Current study is proposed to produce wrinkle free circular plaited knitted fabric by the elimination of a pre-boarding step. In this achievement, yarn covering parameters and compatibility of yarns with knitting machines are examined. Sock samples were analyzed for improved physical appearance (wrinkles) after various processes (pre-tumbling, dyeing, bleaching, and washing). Yarn specifications (sheath yarn fineness, sheath yarn texture i.e. shrink/un-shrink, covering air-knots) impact on socks physical appearance were also analyzed. The results clearly showed that by decreasing number of yarn covering air knots and sheath yarn fineness leads to prevention of wrinkle formation. The results also prove to be supportive for cost effectiveness by eliminating the pre-setting stage. 相似文献

Incubation of ampicillin with whole cells of Streptomyces sp. DRS-1 resulted in accumulation of four compounds different from ampicillin. One of them was isolated, purified and partially characterized. On the basis of spectroscopic characteristics, RF value and antibacterial activity the compound was identified as cephalexin. It could also be obtained from ampicillin by using crude protein extract of the strain. 相似文献

Tubulin self‐assembly into microtubules is a fascinating natural phenomenon. Its importance is not just crucial for functional and structural biological processes, but it also serves as an inspiration for synthetic nanomaterial innovations. The modulation of the tubulin self‐assembly process without introducing additional chemical inhibitors/promoters or stabilizers has remained an elusive process. This work reports a versatile and vigorous strategy for controlling tubulin self‐assembly by nanosecond electropulses (nsEPs). The polymerization assessed by turbidimetry is dependent on nsEPs dosage. The kinetics of microtubules formation is tightly linked to the nsEPs effects on structural properties of tubulin, and tubulin‐solvent interface, assessed by autofluorescence, and the zeta potential. Moreover, the overall size of tubulin assessed by dynamic light scattering is affected as well. Additionally, atomic force microscopy imaging reveals the formation of different assemblies reflecting applied nsEPs. It is suggested that changes in C‐terminal modification states alter tubulin polymerization‐competent conformations. Although the assembled tubulin preserve their integral structure, they might exhibit a broad range of new properties important for their functions. Thus, these transient conformation changes of tubulin and their collective properties can result in new applications. 相似文献

Mobile devices have changed everyday life and they have had a great impact in higher education. This article describes a pilot project in which an academic librarian at Lehman College, City University of New York, taught information literacy exclusively via mobile devices. The concept of mobile information literacy is also reviewed, and its role in current and future teaching practices is evaluated. Lessons learned from this project tell us that mobile information literacy, albeit in its infancy, could play an essential part in students’ learning, and therefore academic librarians could incorporate it as part of their practice. 相似文献
