Curved cross-sections extracted from medical volume images are useful for analyzing nonplanar anatomic structures such as the aorta arch or the pelvis. For visualization and for performing distance measurements, extracted surface sections need to be adequately flattened. We present two different distance preserving surface flattening methods which preserve distances according to a user-specified center of interest and according to user-specified orientations. The first method flattens surface sections by preserving distances along surface curves located within planes having a user specified constant orientation. The second method flattens surfaces along curves located within radial planes crossing the center of interest. We study and compare the properties of the two flattening methods by analyzing their distortion maps. Thanks to a multiresolution approach, we provide surface flattening at interactive rates, allowing users to displace their focus point while visualizing the resulting flattened surface. These distance preserving flattening methods provide new means of inspecting curved cross-sections extracted from medical images.  相似文献

The transmittance spectrum of halftone prints on paper is predicted thanks to a model inspired by the Yule-Nielsen modified spectral Neugebauer model used for reflectance predictions. This model is well adapted for strongly scattering printing supports and applicable to recto-verso prints. Model parameters are obtained by a few transmittance measurements of calibration patches printed on one side of the paper. The model was verified with recto-verso specimens printed by inkjet with classical and custom inks, at different halftone frequencies and on various types of paper. Predictions are as accurate as those obtained with a previously developed reflectance and transmittance prediction model relying on the multiple reflections of light between the paper and the print-air interfaces. Optimal n values are smaller in transmission mode compared with the reflection model. This indicates a smaller amount of lateral light propagation in the transmission mode.  相似文献

The Neugebauer equations and the Demichel equations on which they are based are one of the basic tools for modeling colour printing systems that use the halftoning technique. However, these equations implicitly assume that the colour ink distributions in the screen superposition are statistically independent. We show that this condition is not satisfied in the conventional screen superposition used for colour printing, and we discuss the consequences of this fact. Furthermore, we give a precise criterion that determines, for any number of superposed regular screens, in which cases the Demichel (and hence the Neugebauer) equations are satisfied, and in which cases they fail: The Demichel equations fail in all cases where the screen superposition is singular, and they are satisfied in all nonsingular screen superpositions. We illustrate our results with several examples of both cases. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Col Res Appl, 25, 267–277, 2000  相似文献

We propose a model for predicting the reflectance and transmittance of multiple stacked nonscattering coloring layers that have different refractive indices. The model relies on the modeling of the reflectance and transmittance of a bounded coloring layer, i.e., a coloring layer and its two interfaces with neighboring media of different refractive indices. This model is then applied to deduce the reflectance of stacked nonscattering layers of different refractive indices superposed with a reflecting diffusing background that has its own refractive index. The classical Williams-Clapper model becomes a special case of the proposed stacked layer model.  相似文献

A novel approach to the parallel coupling of normal-bore high-performance liquid chromatography (LC) with electrochemical-array detection (EC-array) and nanoelectrospray mass spectrometry (MS), based on the use of a nanosplitting interface, is described where both detectors are utilized at their optimal detection mode for parallel configuration. The dual detection platform was shown to maintain full chromatographic integrity with retention times and peak widths at half-height between the EC-array and MS displaying high reproducibility with relative standard deviations of <2%. Detection compatibility between the two detectors at the part per billion level injected on-column was demonstrated using selected metabolites representative of the diversity typically encountered in physiological systems. Metabolites were detected with equal efficiency whether neat or in serum, demonstrating the system's ability to handle biological samples with limited sample cleanup and reduced concern for biological matrix effects. Direct quantification of known analytes from the EC-array signal using Faraday's law can eliminate the need for isotopically labeled internal standards. The system was successfully applied to the detection and characterization of metabolites of phenylbutyrate from serum samples of Huntington's disease patients in an example that illustrates the complementarity of the dual detection nanoelectrospray LC-EC-array-MS system.  相似文献
