Ammonia generation was studied in the reaction between water and nitrogen-containing iron at 323 K and atmospheric pressure. Similar to metallic Fe, the interstitial compound Fe3N reduced water through Fe oxidation to produce hydrogen gas, while the N combined with atomic hydrogen to produce ammonia as a byproduct. The addition of carbon dioxide to this system accelerated the reaction with concomitant consumption of carbon dioxide. The promoted ammonia production upon addition of carbon dioxide can be attributed to the generation of atomic hydrogen from the redox reaction of carbonic acid and Fe, as well as removal of used Fe from the reaction system through the formation of a soluble carbonato complex. When carbonate was added to the reaction system, the production rates of ammonia and hydrogen increased further. The results here confirmed that ammonia can be synthesized from iron nitride under mild conditions by utilizing carbon dioxide.  相似文献

Cystoseira hakodatensis is an unutilised brown algae belonging to family Sargassaceae. A crude methanol extract from the algae showed inhibitory effects on the growths of Bacillus cereus and Bacillus licheniformis. To isolate the major antimicrobial agent, a sequential active‐guided isolation procedure was applied: liquid–liquid extraction, column chromatography and bio‐autography. A marked antimicrobial agent (active α) was isolated in hydrophobic fraction and was determined to phenolics without carbohydrates and proteins by phytochemical test. Regarding the antimicrobial potential, the isolated active α showed better inhibitory effects against B. cereus and B. licheniformis at 2 and 4 times of lower concentrations (62.5 and 31.3 μg mL?1) in comparison with epigallocatechin gallate. These results showed that C. hakodatensis is a potential source of antimicrobial agent capable of preventing the growth of the two bacteria.  相似文献

The fabrication process of a low-temperature poly-Si thin-film transistor (TFT) with a storage capacitor was studied. The atmospheric-pressure chemical-vapour deposited SiO2 protected the buried indium tin oxide (ITO) from reduction by a pure H2 plasma treatment that was essential for the effective improvement of the poly-Si TFT characteristics. Thus, a storage capacitor with an ITO (picture electrode)-SiO2-ITO (buried common electrode) structure was successfully fabricated. The poly-Si TFT with a channel width/length W/L ratio of 5 drove a 3 pF storage capacitor in 2 μs, and it showed superior driverability for LCD use. The TFT also had good hold characteristics under illumination for the realization of grey-scale representation.  相似文献

The permeability of beta-escin-treated cell membrane was characterized in terms of the permeant molecular size, by monitoring the leak of cytoplasmic molecules in frog skeletal muscle fibers. With a low concentration of beta-escin (5 microM), most of the cellular ATP was lost within 30-40 min (as revealed by rigor force generation), whereas a fluorescence-labeled dextran injected into the cytoplasm (approximately 10 kDa) and cytoplasmic proteins (14-80 kDa) slowly leaked out of the cell. A high concentration of beta-escin (50-100 microM) accelerated the leak of large molecules. Therefore, low concentrations of beta-escin may be used as a means of permeabilizing the cell membrane to relatively small molecules, while retaining a major fraction of the cellular macromolecules.  相似文献

The functional ability of a muscle is closely related to the activities of the mitochondria, which are energy-producing organelles in muscle cells. The development of the mammalian masticatory muscle progresses dramatically when feeding behavior changes from suckling to mastication, but it is unclear how the energy-producing systems of the mitochondria change. In this paper, the development of rat masticatory muscle mitochondria was investigated in terms of enzyme activities of the mitochondrial respiratory chain and the structural and numerical development of mitochondria, especially regarding the change in feeding behavior from suckling to mastication. Using isolated mitochondria from the masticatory muscle, we measured succinate dehydrogenase, NADH dehydrogenase, succinate-O2 oxidoreductase, and NADH-O2 oxidoreductase. These were found to be increased in the 15-day postnatal rat compared with the 0- to 10-day postnatal rat. The structural development of mitochondria was gradual in the 0- to 15-day postnatal rat. However, a notable increase was found in the cross-sectional area of mitochondria between 10 and 15 days postnatally. The number of mitochondria per muscle fiber was apparently constant during the same period. We demonstrated that the change in feeding behavior was well-correlated with an increase in mitochondrial enzyme activity, also supported by the early structural development of mitochondria.  相似文献

PGE2 is one of the key molecules in the osteoblast. It is the major prostanoid in the bone, and its production is under the control of both systemic and local factors. PGE2 has been reported to have multiple actions in the osteoblast, such as growth promotion and cell differentiation. To better understand the action of PGE2 in the osteoblast, we determined the PGE receptor subtypes in MC3T3-E1, an osteoblastic cell line derived from the normal mouse calvaria. Northern blot analysis revealed that EP1 and EP4 subtypes are expressed in MC3T3-E1. In contrast, EP3 subtype was not detected by either Northern blot analysis or RT-PCR. The contribution of each subtype was evaluated by studying the effects of subtype-specific analogs on osteoblastic function at confluency and 5 days after confluency. An EP1 agonist, 17-phenyl-omega-trinor PGE2, increased DNA synthesis and decreased alkaline phosphatase activity. 11-Deoxy-PGE1, and EP2 and EP4 agonist, decreased DNA synthesis and increased alkaline phosphatase activity at both stages. Butaprost, an EP2-selective agonist, showed effects similar to those of 11-deoxy-PGE1 only at confluency. Another and more differentiated osteoblastic marker, osteocalcin production, was detectable and was stimulated by 11-deoxy-PGE1 only 5 days after confluency. The exposure of these cells to EP1 agonist changed the cell shape to a more fibroblastic appearance. These results indicate that EP1, EP4, and probably EP2 are present in MC3T3-E1 cells; EP1 promotes cell growth, and EP2 and EP4 mediate differentiation of the osteoblast. Furthermore, the decreased response to EP2-specific agonist 5 days after confluency suggests that the expression of PGE receptor subtype is dependent on the stage of osteoblastic differentiation. This is the first report to determine PGE receptor subtypes in the bone.  相似文献

Electrochemical implantation was performed at Ni electrodes to form DyNi2 films at 0.55 V (vs. Li+/Li), 0.62 V, and 0.70 V for 0.5-5.0 h in a molten LiCl-KCl-DyCl3 (0.50 mol%) system at 700 K. It was found that the DyNi2 films grew linearly with time with coulomb efficiency of about 100%. The obtained growth rates were higher at more negative potentials, i.e., 0.47 μm min−1 at 0.55 V, 0.32 μm min−1 at 0.62 V, and 0.14 μm min−1 at 0.70 V. On the analogy of the metal oxide growth, the observed rapid and linear growth of DyNi2 films may be explained by the existence of the outer and inner DyNi2 layers.  相似文献

A bucket-type high-density (0.25-1.2-mA/cm2) low-energy (500-2000 V) ion source was utilized for high-speed phosphorus doping directly into a thin polysilicon layer without cap SiO2. Doping gas with He dilution was selected to reduce etching of polysilicon film. Excimer laser (XeCl, 8 mm×8 mm) pulse annealing was introduced to activate effectively the doped impurity. The combination of these techniques provided a practically low sheet resistance for the TFT source, drain, and gate with a short time doping. The low-temperature polysilicon TFT fabricated with a doping time of 10 s had characteristics comparable to those of that fabricated by a longer time doping or conventional ion implantation, showing the practicality of this technology and its promise for giant microelectronics  相似文献
