Taste receptor response to sodium chloride and natriuresis in the workers and employees of an industrial enterprise

Studied in the course of one-stage epidemiologic survey of 1191 individuals were the threshold of gustatory sensitivity to table salt and nycterine natriuresis, relation of these indices to dietary habits, some risk factors for cardiovascular disorders and clinical parameters. Differing relations were established between gustatory sensitivity to table salt and natriuresis and age and gender of the examinees, the level of blood pressure, aggravated heredity in respect of arterial hypertension, smoking and alcohol abuse, this enabling one to embark upon a differential approach to dietetic correction of salt consumption.     

Essential phospholipids in the treatment of chronic pyelonephritis]

Through TCD test, observation on the blood flow dynamics change before and after treatment with 31 cases of the child cerebral atrophy was made. It is found that scalp therapy is able to speed up the blood flow of part artery, especially increase the even blood flow speed of MCA, ACA obviously (P < 0.05), which preliminary shows the mechanism of scalp therapy for child cerebral atrophy mean while. It is found that scalp therapy also has the function to restrain epilepsy.     

The heterogeneity of cell populations by the cytochemical characteristics of the cellular chromatin

Cell heterogeneity of cytochemical characteristics of chromatin in the norm and after provocative factors in vitro (a heating at 45 degrees C, X-irradiation and joint actions of heating and X-ray irradiation) was investigated in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of sheep and mouse, the lymphoid cell populations of the murine bone marrow, spleen and thymus. As a criterion of cytochemical heterogeneity were used the distinctions in the rate of staining of cell nuclei with DNA-specific dyes, that was registered by means of measurement of coefficient variation of the DNA-histogram basis peak, with a flow cytometry. Heterogeneity of cytochemical characteristics are dealt with showed a variability of spatial organization of interphase nuclei of single cells. The provocative factors bring about a decrease in the level of the cytochemical characteristics heterogeneity in the sheep mononuclear cells. In the murine cell populations studied no such equalizing of the marker of variability was revealed.     

The microsurgical treatment of large and giant aneurysms of the internal carotid artery located parasphenoidally

Internal carotid aneurysms in the ophthalmic area presents a challenge in cerebrovascular neurosurgery. The study was undertaken to provide evidence for the application of intravascular aspiration during direct surgical interventions and to outline their variants used at the N. N. Burdenko Institute of Neurosurgery. The study included 4 (3 females and 1 male) patients with large and giant internal carotid aneurysms of parasphenoidal site who were treated at the Institute. Clipping of the aneurysmal neck was made by employing intravascular blood aspiration from the aneurysm. The technique proved to be effective in proximal monitoring the carotid artery at surgery. It substantially reduced aneurysmal blood flow and wall tension, thus favouring aneurysmal dissection to make clipping.     

Method of detecting and measuring low amplitude potentials in bioelectric signals

A method is proposed for detecting and measuring the late potentials of the ventricles of the heat (LPV). The method is based on computations of the amplitude, time, and spectral parameters of the signal. Examples are given of the use of the method in patients with or without LPV. Resonant Quantum Phenomena for an rf-SQUID: Moderate Underdamped and Extreme Underdamped Limit

We study the resonant quantum behaviour of a macroscopic superconducting system interacting with an external field. First we consider the resonant tunneling assisted by microwave frequency in the moderate underdamped quantum regime. Then we consider the resonant process in the extreme underdamped limit. In both regimes we have investigated a small frequency range, where resonant phenomena take place. The transition probability W from the left to the right potential well has been numerically calculated for an rf-SQUID as function of the external flux φ _x for both regimes. Results indicate that, in a proper frequency and φ _x range, the transition probability W can present two or three resonant peaks, depending on the damping regime.     

Synthesis of Titanates with a Ramsdellite-Type Tunnel Structure Crystallizing in the Li<Subscript>2</Subscript>O-Fe<Subscript>2</Subscript>O<Subscript>3</Subscript>-TiO<Subscript>2</Subscript> System in Different Gaseous Media

The ramsdellite-type phases crystallizing in the Li₂O-Fe₂O₃-TiO₂ system in the course of synthesis in gaseous media at different oxygen partial pressures are studied. Solid solutions based on the ramsdellite structure with the composition Li₂Ti_3?xFe _x O_{7 ? δ} (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.7) are prepared in an oxidizing medium (P_O2 = 1 atm) for the first time. Analysis of the results obtained by electron paramagnetic resonance and Mossbauer spectroscopy revealed that, in these solid solutions, all iron ions are in the oxidation state Fe⁺³.
