We investigated the clinical usefulness of individualization of chemotherapeutic regimen in neoadjuvant intra-arterial chemotherapy for locally invasive bladder cancer. Anticancer drugs were selected according to the results of an in vitro chemosensitivity test (collagen matrix assay or succinic dehydrogenase inhibition test). Nine patients with locally invasive bladder cancer received 1 to 4 courses of neoadjuvant intra-arterial chemotherapy, followed by radical cystectomy. Histopathological responses in the cystectomized specimens were grade 3 in 3 cases, grade 2 in 2, grade 1b in 2 and no response in 2. Pathologically, a complete response and downstaging were observed in 3 and 4 cases, respectively. Seven of the 9 patients were alive no evidence of disease with a mean follow-up period of 38.9 months, whereas 2 patients died of metastasis within 2 years. Six of the 7 patients who showed a complete response or down staging have been free of recurrence. These findings suggest that our chemotherapeutic strategy may improve the prognosis for locally invasive bladder cancer.  相似文献

The prevalence of normal tension glaucoma (NTG) or primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) is higher in myopic populations and the prevalence of myopia and NTG is relatively high in the Japanese. To evaluate the influence of myopic refractive error on the central visual field defect in NTG eyes, the data obtained from NTG eyes with the Humphrey Visual Field Analyser were analysed in comparison with those from POAG eyes. One hundred and twenty NTG eyes and one hundred and ninety-seven POAG eyes were included. All of them had clear ocular media, but no myopic degeneration in the fundus. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed with a dependent variable of the deviation of the measured threshold value from normal reference value (total deviation, STATPAC) and independent variables of refractive error and mean deviation (STATPAC). Myopic power was found to be positively correlated with the depression in the lower papillo-macular area in both NTG and POAG eyes, and it was negatively correlated with the depression in an upper arcuate area extending just nasal to the fixation only in NTG eyes.  相似文献

This paper describes an effective way to estimate state variables, such as motor speed and disturbance from a low-resolution encoder at low speed by using the dual-sampling-rate observer. The dual-sampling-rate observer estimates the state variables at every DSP control period and correct the estimation error at the instant that the measurement signal is detected. A novel pole assignment method, which considers the relation of the estimation and error correction periods, is proposed to maintain the stability for long error correcting period. Moreover, the dual-sampling-rate observer can be applied for higher order systems since it is generalized in state space. The effectiveness of the observer is verified through various simulations and experiments  相似文献

A spinel CuIr2S4 exhibits a temperature-induced metal-insulator (M-I) transition at around 226 K. Non-magnetic substitution effect on the M-I transition, TM-I, in Cu(Ir1−xMx)2S4 (M = Sn, Hf) has been studied on the focus of the rather low composition region of x. Magnetic property of Cu(Ir1−xMx)2S4 (M = Sn, Hf) has been examined experimentally. The TM-I decreases with increasing x and the temperature hysteresis becomes unclear within the experimental errors. The step anomaly in the magnetic susceptibility smears out and the TM-I becomes ill defined around x = 0.20 in Cu(Ir1−xSnx)2S4, and x = 0.10 in Cu(Ir1−xHfx)2S4, respectively. These substitutions play an important role in decoupling the spin-dimerization of Ir4+-Ir4+ in CuIr2S4, and lead the destruction of the metal-insulator transition.  相似文献

Brown rice malt from Indica and Japonica type rice were prepared and their nutrient composition as well as non-starch polysaccharide (NSP) contents and also some of the physico-chemical characteristics were determined. The activity of α- and β-amylases in the ungerminated (native) rice was negligible but increased considerably on germination. Malting altered the chemical composition of both Indica and Japonica rice to a small extent but caused noticeable changes in the pasting characteristics. The free sugars and water-soluble non-starch polysaccharide (NSP) contents of the malt samples were considerably higher than the native samples. The carbohydrate elution profile of native and malted rice on Sepharose CL-2B revealed partial degradation of starch. However, the electrophoresis patterns of the native and malt samples were comparable but exhibited decrease in their band intensity. The study revealed that, controlled germination or malting causes considerable changes in the physico-chemical and bio-chemical properties of both Indica and Japonica rice.  相似文献

Solid-state bonding between ultralow-carbon steel and pure nickel was conducted by hot pressing with various compressive strain ranging from 5 to 15% and subsequent isothermal holding at 923?K. It was found that the interfacial strength of contact area is accounted for by the evolution of the intrinsic strength of the interface and the amount of plastic energy dissipation at the crack tip during interface fracture. The compression induces severe deformation around the interface and consequently inhibits the plastic energy dissipation during interface fracture. In the first stage of isothermal holding, the residual strain around the interface on the steel side is reduced by recovery process, which concurrently decreases in the yield stress of the area adjacent to the interface. This promotes plastic energy dissipation of the area, leading to a significant increase in interfacial strength in the first stage.  相似文献

In order to investigate the seismic behavior of conventional type and geosynthetic-reinforced soil retaining walls, 1-g model shaking tests were conducted. Model walls having a height of about 50 cm were placed on a subsoil layer and backfilled with a layer of dense dry Toyoura sand. They were subjected to several steps of horizontal irregular excitations. As a result, generation of negative pore air pressure in the backfill was observed. The maximum amplitude of the negative pore air pressure during each shaking step increased with the base acceleration. Based on analyses of the measured data, it was inferred that such negative pore air pressure was caused by outward wall displacement relative to the backfill and not by dilative behavior of the backfill. It would cause a reduction in the seismic earth pressures exerted from the backfill. This feature suggests an advantage of a rigid full-height facing for reinforced soil walls over the segmental types of facing. A simplified numerical procedure to evaluate earth pressure was applied while considering the effects of the negative pore air pressure, and it could qualitatively simulate the measured behavior in terms of the seismic earth pressure and the angle of failure plane in the backfill.  相似文献

We have identified and characterized CLARP, a caspase-like apoptosis-regulatory protein. Sequence analysis revealed that human CLARP contains two amino-terminal death effector domains fused to a carboxyl-terminal caspase-like domain. The structure and amino acid sequence of CLARP resemble those of caspase-8, caspase-10, and DCP2, a Drosophila melanogaster protein identified in this study. Unlike caspase-8, caspase-10, and DCP2, however, two important residues predicted to be involved in catalysis were lost in the caspase-like domain of CLARP. Analysis with fluorogenic substrates for caspase activity confirmed that CLARP is catalytically inactive. CLARP was found to interact with caspase-8 but not with FADD/MORT-1, an upstream death effector domain-containing protein of the Fas and tumor necrosis factor receptor 1 signaling pathway. Expression of CLARP induced apoptosis, which was blocked by the viral caspase inhibitor p35, dominant negative mutant caspase-8, and the synthetic caspase inhibitor benzyloxycarbonyl-Val-Ala-Asp-(OMe)-fluoromethylketone (zVAD-fmk). Moreover, CLARP augmented the killing ability of caspase-8 and FADD/MORT-1 in mammalian cells. The human clarp gene maps to 2q33. Thus, CLARP represents a regulator of the upstream caspase-8, which may play a role in apoptosis during tissue development and homeostasis.  相似文献

Orthostatic dysregulation (OD) has been reported to be complicated with childhood bronchial asthma. 42 patients (28 females and 14 males) with adult-onset bronchial asthma were selected randomly to investigate the prevalence of OD. OD was diagnosed by both questionnaire for subjective symptoms and tilting test (Schellong test and upright ECG). Our results revealed that 64.3% (both 64.3% in females and males) of the patients were complicated with OD. There was no significant difference in the duration of asthma, FEV0.1, %FEV1.0, serum IgE level, and severity of asthma between patients with OD and without OD. Furthermore, no significant difference in the results of tilting test were observed. In serum level of theophylline we couldn't detect any subjective difference between the two groups, however there was significant difference between positive patients and negative patients in tilting test. In conclusion, OD is frequently complicated with adult-onset asthma and we should be careful of the subjective symptoms concerned with OD.  相似文献

In recent years, serious damage has been done to retaining structures because of large earthquakes. In order to establish practical methods for evaluating the seismic earth pressure, which is one of the important external forces acting on retaining structures during large earthquakes, a series of shaking table tests was conducted on retaining wall (RW) models. The experiments revealed that the seismic active earth pressure was considerably smaller than that obtained by the Mononobe-Okabe theory, particularly under a large seismic load. Furthermore, it was demonstrated that the seismic earth pressure had an upper limit, which was determined by the force equilibrium of the soil wedge at the critical state when the RW lost its stability. On the basis of the test results, a new method to evaluate the seismic earth pressure for practical designs under a large seismic load has been suggested. This proposed method provides a reasonable earth pressure as well as an angle of failure plane, those of which depend on the seismic stability of the retaining wall. It has been confirmed that earth pressure obtained by the proposed method agrees well with the measured seismic earth pressure exerted on several retaining walls with different degrees of stability.  相似文献
