Although three-dimensional (3-D) partial inductance modeling costs have decreased with stable, sparse approximations of the inductance matrix and its inverse, 3-D models are still intractable when applied to full chip timing or crosstalk analysis. The 3-D partial inductance matrix (or its inverse) is too large to be extracted or simulated when power-grid cross-sections are made wide to capture proximity effect and wires are discretized finely to capture skin effect. Fortunately, 3-D inductance models are unnecessary in VLSI interconnect analysis. Because return currents follow interconnect wires, long interconnect wires can be accurately modeled as two-dimensional (2-D) transmission lines and frequency-dependent loop impedances extracted using 2-D methods . Furthermore, this frequency dependence can be approximated with compact circuit models for both uncoupled and coupled lines. Three-dimensional inductance models are only necessary to handle worst case effects such as simultaneous switching in the end regions. This paper begins by explaining and defending the 2-D modeling approach. It then extends the extraction algorithm to efficiently include distant return paths. Finally, a novel synthesis technique is described that approximates the frequency-dependent series impedance of VLSI interconnects with compact circuit models suitable for timing and noise analysis.  相似文献

Photometathesis of C3H6 proceeded on the sprayed MoO3 catalyst under UV irradiation with wavelength <290 nm. The photoactivity on the spray catalyst was 20-fold higher than that on the commercial MoO3. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) results showed the anisotropic growth of the crystal in the spray catalyst. The edge-rich structure was formed in the bulk molybdenum oxide by spray reaction technique.  相似文献

Despite the massive cost reduction in the last decade, wind power generation is generally still more expensive than conventional energy sources which benefit from the exclusion of externality costs in the price structure. Support policies for renewable energies guarantee the economic viability of this type of electrical power generation in many European countries. In Latin America, Brazil has become the pioneer state for renewable energy with the implementation of the PROINFA programme that supports, among other sources, wind power development of 1100 MW. This article presents an overview of the differences between the German and Brazilian wind power promotion policies with a special focus on how PROINFA can be adapted to the unstable macroeconomic situation of Brazil. Previous studies show that if acoustic startle stimuli are presented in pairs, then the reaction to the 2nd stimulus (S2) is reduced, with the size of the refractory decrement determined by the interstimulus interval and the relative intensity of the 1st stimulus (S1). If a neutral stimulus (p) is presented just prior to S1, then the reaction to S1 is similarly inhibited, revealing the phenomenon of prestimulus inhibition. In 2 experiments with male albino Holtzman rats (N = 24) it was found that suppression of the reflex to S2 by S1 was unaffected by prestimulus inhibition of S1 (i.e., reflex amplitudes associated with S2 were identical in pS1-S2 series and S1-S2 series). In contrast, a reduction in the intensity of S1 relative to S2 did reduce the effect of S1 on S2. These data indicate that prestimulus inhibition of the reflex to S1 does not result because the preliminary stimulus attenuates the sensory impact of S1. A new technique is described for reducing computational complexity and improving accuracy of combined power distribution and interconnect noise prediction for wide, on-chip data-buses. The methodology uses lossy transmission-line power-blocks with frequency-dependent properties needed for the multigigahertz clock frequencies. The interaction between delta-I noise, common-mode noise, and crosstalk and their effect on timing is illustrated with simulations using representative driver and receiver circuits and on-chip interconnections.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To identify independent predictors of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) during neonatal extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). STUDY DESIGN: This retrospective cohort consisted of all neonates who did not have an ICH before treatment with ECMO identified in the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization Registry from 1992 to 1995 (n = 4550). Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to identify factors independently correlated with ICH and to develop a model that could be used to predict the risk of ICH in neonates treated with ECMO. RESULTS: ICH was identified in 9.9% of patients. The factors associated with ICH remaining after adjusting for other significant variables (P <.01) were gestational age (GA) <34 weeks (odds ratio [OR] 12.1, 95% confidence intervals [CI] [6.6, 22]), GA 34 to <36 weeks (OR 4.1, CI [2.9, 5.8]), GA 36 to <38 weeks (OR 2.1, CI [1.6, 2.8]) primary diagnosis of sepsis (OR 1.8, CI [1.4, 2.3]), epinephrine use (OR 1.9, CI [1.5, 2.5]), coagulopathy (OR 1. 6, CI [1.1, 2.2]), arterial pH <7.0 (OR 2.5, CI [1.6, 3.9]), and arterial pH 7.0 to <7.2 (OR 1.8 CI [1.3, 2.5]). ICH rates for neonates receiving venovenous versus venoarterial ECMO and for those treated with or without cephalic jugular venous drainage were not significantly different. CONCLUSIONS: Gestational age, acidosis, sepsis, coagulopathy, and treatment with epinephrine are major independent factors associated with ICH in neonates treated with ECMO. In particular, GA <34 weeks remains a major barrier for use of current ECMO technologies.  相似文献

From the point of view of biogeochemistry, manure is a complex of organic matter containing minor minerals. When manure is excreted by animals, it undergoes a series of reactions such as decomposition, hydrolysis, ammonia volatilization, nitrification, denitrification, fermentation etc., from which carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrous oxide (N2O), methane (CH4) and ammonia (NH3) can be produced. Based on the principles of thermodynamics and reaction kinetics, these reactions are commonly controlled by a group of environmental factors such as temperature, moisture, redox potential, pH, substrate concentration gradient etc. The relations among the environmental factors, the reactions and the gas production have been incorporated in a process-based model, Manure-DNDC, to describe manure organic matter turnover and gas emissions. Using Manure-DNDC, the users can construct a virtual farm by selecting and integrating one or more of the candidate farm facilities (i.e., feedlot, compost, lagoon, anaerobic digester and cropping field) parameterized in the model. Manure-DNDC calculates variations of the environmental factors for each component facility based on its technical specifications, and then utilizes the environmental factors to drive the biogeochemical reactions. To verify the applicability of Manure-DNDC for livestock farms, seven datasets of air emissions measured from farms across the U.S. plus a Scotland pasture were utilized for model tests with encouraging results. A dairy farm in New York was used to assess the impacts of alternative management practices on the gas mitigation. The modeled results showed that a combination of changes in the feed quality, the lagoon coverage and the planted crop type could reduce greenhouse gas emission by 30?% and NH3 by 36?% at the farm scale.  相似文献

The resource management system is the central component of distributed network computing systems. There have been many projects focused on network computing that have designed and implemented resource management systems with a variety of architectures and services. In this paper, an abstract model and a comprehensive taxonomy for describing resource management architectures is developed. The taxonomy is used to identify approaches followed in the implementation of existing resource management systems for very large‐scale network computing systems known as Grids. An integrated optical interferometer for direct detection of affinity reactions is presented. A modern version of a Young's interferometer is built with a waveguide structure as beam splitter and as sensing element. Resistive waveguides were produced by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition of silicon oxinitride. At the output of this device a fringe pattern is detected by a CCD line camera. The adsorption of molecules on top of the waveguides is observed with a detection limit of 750 fg/mm(2). The resolvable variation of effective refractive index is 9 x 10(-8).  相似文献
