The Meteor metric for automatic evaluation of machine translation   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
The Meteor Automatic Metric for Machine Translation evaluation, originally developed and released in 2004, was designed with the explicit goal of producing sentence-level scores which correlate well with human judgments of translation quality. Several key design decisions were incorporated into Meteor in support of this goal. In contrast with IBM’s Bleu, which uses only precision-based features, Meteor uses and emphasizes recall in addition to precision, a property that has been confirmed by several metrics as being critical for high correlation with human judgments. Meteor also addresses the problem of reference translation variability by utilizing flexible word matching, allowing for morphological variants and synonyms to be taken into account as legitimate correspondences. Furthermore, the feature ingredients within Meteor are parameterized, allowing for the tuning of the metric’s free parameters in search of values that result in optimal correlation with human judgments. Optimal parameters can be separately tuned for different types of human judgments and for different languages. We discuss the initial design of the Meteor metric, subsequent improvements, and performance in several independent evaluations in recent years.  相似文献

An in-depth evaluation of the usability and situation awareness performance of different displays and destination controls of robots are presented. In two experiments we evaluate the way information is presented to the operator and assess different means for controlling the robot. Our study compares three types of displays: a “blocks” display, a HUD (head-up display), and a radar display, and two types of controls: touch screen and hand gestures. The HUD demonstrated better performance when compared to the blocks display and was perceived to have greater usability compared to the radar display. The HUD was also found to be more useful when the operation of the robot was more difficult, i.e., when using the hand-gesture method. The experiments also pointed to the importance of using a wide viewing angle to minimize distortion and for easier coping with the difficulties of locating objects in the field of view margins. The touch screen was found to be superior in terms of both objective performance and its perceived usability. No differences were found between the displays and the controllers in terms of situation awareness. This research sheds light on the preferred display type and controlling method for operating robots from a distance, making it easier to cope with the challenges of operating such systems.  相似文献

Relative equilibrium constants ("affinity ratios") of complexes of bilirubin with a molar excess of charcoal-treated serum albumins from different species (human, bovine, rabbit and chicken) in aqueous solution, were estimated by circular dichroism measurements in the visible region at 26-27 degrees C, pH 7.4, and in the presence of 0.1 M NaCl. By variation of the mol ratios of the components of pairs of different bilirubin-serum albumin complexes showing circular dichroic bands of opposite sign, the apparent association constants of complexes of bilirubin with either human or chicken albumin were found to be greater by factors between 6 and 17 than those of bovine or rabbit albumins. The usefulness in the determination of affinity ratios is illustrated by the evaluation of single equilibrium constants of systems of high-ligand affinity from those of relatively lower affinity, the latter of which are more readily amendable to direct experimental measurement.  相似文献

Distractor interference effects were compared between distractors in the periphery and those placed at fixation. In 6 experiments, the authors show that fixation distractors produce larger interference effects than peripheral distractors. However, the fixation distractor effects are modulated by perceptual load to the same extent as are peripheral distractor effects (Experiments 1 and 2). Experiment 3 showed that fixation distractors are harder to filter out than peripheral distractors. The larger distractor effects at fixation are not due to the cortical magnification of foveal stimuli (Experiments 4 and 5), nor can they be attributed to cuing by the fixation point (Experiment 2), the lower predictability or greater location certainty of fixation distractors (Experiment 5), or their being in a central position (Experiment 6). The authors suggest that preferential access to attention renders fixation distractors harder to ignore than peripheral distractors. The inter-relationship between the orthogonal alignment of polymer helices and improvement of lithium-transport properties of polymer electrolytes has been determined by scanning electron microscopy, differential-scanning calorimetry and dielectric spectroscopy. It is suggested that ordering of the polymer electrolyte accompanied by increased conduction properties is achieved by mutual coordination of local dipole moments of the polar CH2-CH2-O units during casting under a magnetic field.  相似文献

Production of cytokines by immunocompetent cells in vitro may be assessed after stimulation with polyclonal activators. Because it mimics the natural environment, diluted whole blood (WB) culture may be the most appropriate milieu in which to study cytokine production in vitro. We tested TNF alpha production by small volume of whole blood (25 microliters) from HIV-1 positive patients by using a one-step procedure that combines WB stimulation with LPS and PHA and cytokine measurement. We studied 30 patients without secondary infection or at distance of secondary infection staged according to the classification proposed by the CDC and 12 healthy seronegative subjects. The mean values of TNF alpha from patients were not statistically different from those from normal controls however in certain patients at different stages of the disease higher values than the mean +2 SD of controls and lower values than the mean -2 SD of controls were obtained. Heparinized blood from 5 control subjects had been collected sequentially during a period of 5 months. The individual variation of TNF alpha production were limited for all these individuals. For each of 6 HIV-1 patients, whole blood samples were collected sequentially during a period of 5 months and in most of patients large variations of levels of TNF alpha were observed from one sample to another one. Our method can detect abnormal cytokine production in HIV-1 positive individuals and can become a useful tool to investigate the role of cytokines in the outcome of HIV-1 infection.  相似文献

This paper describes the electrical safety for a power system analysis. For an efficient and reliable electrical system, routine and detailed maintenance must be performed. One method of preventive maintenance uses infrared thermography. This technology visually depicts heat differentials in a circuit breakers and transformers that are housed in metal-glad switchgear. Predictive maintenance involves testing equipment for proper operation. This work involves the inspection of live electrical equipment for unbalanced loads and loose wire connections. The main goal is to find the best solution for lowering the energy levels. A proper personal protective equipment (PPF) is needed to maintain a safe working environment to prevent the worker from receiving incurable burns from this energy. The PPE is determined using power system analysis. The computerized model analyses are also discussed.  相似文献
