In this research, the replacement effects of bioactive glass (BG) by nanocrystalline forsterite (NF) on the biomineralization, microstructural and mechanical properties of BG-based nanocomposites were investigated. The hybrid nanocomposites with different NF contents (0, 10, 20, and 30 wt%) were prepared from the nanopowders by means of conventional cold pressing method. Surprisingly, the addition of NF provided redundant mechanisms to improve the toughness of the BG matrix without deteriorating its biomineralization properties. In addition, the resulting enhancement in the fracture toughness, observed for the first time in highly bioactive BG/NF nanocomposites, indicated the potential of the prepared nanocomposites as advanced biomaterials for load-bearing bone tissue engineering applications.  相似文献

In this article, boundary integral equations (BIE) and Laplace transform domain fundamental solutions to the u‐p formulation of two‐dimensional dynamic poroelasticity are derived. Time domain fundamental solutions have been derived based on the Cleary reciprocal theorem. A set of numerical results is presented to highlight the salient features of the transient fundamental solutions, their components, and accuracies of proposed approximations. The paper describes a new form of tubular induction motor, in which the motion of the rotor conductor is along a helical path. The winding arrangement described may include multi-polar system circumferentially and axially. The excitation produced by such winding is a helically travelling wave. An appropriate multi-layer analysis using cylindrical geometry is presented. Experimental and theoretical results are given and they show good correlation.  相似文献

Cadmium telluride nanoparticles (CdTe NPs) have been synthesized by a sonochemical technique, deposited on glass and quartz glass at 100°C and 2.7?×?10?6 kPa and then studied by analyzing the x-ray diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy (UV–Vis), current–voltage test (IV) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The XRD results indicated the formation of a strong preferential (200) orientation of CdTe with a cubic zinc-blende structure on both substrates. In order to show the effect of heating on the structure and optical properties of the prepared thin films, they were annealed at temperatures of 50°C, 70°C and 100°C for 1 h. It was found that the grain size in this orientation increases with the increase of the temperature. In addition, the obtained optical band gap energies by UV–Vis measurements were in the range of 1.46–1.53 eV. The electrical properties of the prepared films were observed to increase with annealing using IV measurements. The thin films were also found to be uniform with a small particle size, as revealed by SEM.

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of decreasing dietary protein and rumen-undegradable protein (RUP) on production performance, nitrogen retention, and nutrient digestibility in high-producing Holstein cows in early lactation. Twelve multiparous Holstein lactating cows (2 lactations; 50 ± 7 d in milk; 47 kg/d of milk production) were used in a Latin square design with 4 treatments and 3 replicates (cows). Treatments 1 to 4 consisted of diets containing 18, 17.2, 16.4, and 15.6% crude protein (CP), respectively, with the 18% CP diet considered the control group. Rumen-degradable protein levels were constant across the treatments (approximately 10.9% on a dry matter basis), whereas RUP was gradually decreased. All diets were calculated to supply a postruminal Lys:Met ratio of about 3:1. Dietary CP had no significant effects on milk production or milk composition. In fact, 16.4% dietary CP compared with 18% dietary CP led to higher milk production; however, this effect was not significant. Feed intake was higher for 16.4% CP than for 18% CP (25.7 vs. 24.3 kg/d). Control cows had greater CP and RUP intakes, which resulted in higher concentrations of plasma urea nitrogen and milk urea nitrogen; cows receiving 16.4 and 15.6% CP, respectively, exhibited lower concentrations of milk urea nitrogen (15.2 and 15.1 vs. 17.3 mg/dL). The control diet had a significant effect on predicted urinary N. Higher CP digestibility was recorded for 18% CP compared with the other diets. Decreasing CP and RUP to 15.6 and 4.6% of dietary dry matter, respectively, had no negative effects on milk production or composition when the amounts of Lys and Met and the Lys:Met ratio were balanced. Furthermore, decreasing CP and RUP to 16.4 and 5.4%, respectively, increased dry matter intake.  相似文献

This paper presents a formulation of a time‐domain three‐dimensional boundary element method for site response analysis of topographic structures. The boundary element algorithm that uses the presented time‐convoluted traction kernels is applied to site response analyses of topographic structures. The seismic responses of canyon and ridge subjected to incident P and S waves are analyzed to demonstrate the accuracy of the kernels and the applicability of the presented boundary element algorithm for site response analysis of topographic structures. Seismic response analyses of three‐dimensional Gaussian‐shaped ridges show that the three‐dimensional axisymmetric ridge has a more amplification potential compared with three‐dimensional non‐axisymmetric elongated and two‐dimensional ridges, if the ridge is impinged by incident waves with wavelength of about the ridge's width.
