Effects of Economic Pressure on Marital Conflict in Romania.

This study examined the interrelationships among economic pressure, maternal depression, social support, and marital conflict in a sample of 239 mothers in Romania. Data were collected through a school-based survey. Findings indicated that higher levels of economic pressure were associated with higher levels of marital conflict. Economic pressure was also associated with higher marital conflict indirectly through increased maternal depression and lowered social support. The present results were similar to those obtained in studies conducted among U.S. samples. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2010 APA, all rights reserved)     

Sulfonated polyurethane anionomer-polypyrrole molecular composite

Preparation of a molecular-level composite of sulfonated polyurethane ionomer and polypyrrole (PUA-PPy) was performed by electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole in aqueous solution of polyurethane anionomer and was confirmed by compositional and Fourier transform infrared analysis. The effects of anionomer concentration and of electrochemical reduction process were followed, and it was forecasted that the composite could behave as a cation exchanger. On the PVC chlorination mechanism

Summary A radiochemical method was used to study PVC chlorination. A reaction mechanism was proposed based on the results obtained from chlorination of ³⁶chlorine labeled PVC. A mechanism was proposed also for chain transfer reaction to polymer in vinyl chloride polymerization.     

The chain transfer to polymer in vinyl chloride bulk polymerization

Summary Self grafting of PVC has been studied by introducing a 36-chlorine labelled low molecular PVC fraction in the polymerization mixture of vinyl chloride. The fractionation of the polymer obtained follows the same pattern as a synthetic mixture of the polymer with the same fraction. It is concluded that, under those working conditions, chain transfer to the polymer with grafting has not taken place, at least in a considerable extent.     

Anionic polyurethane ionomer for one-step electrosynthesis of conductive composites

A water soluble ionomer with natrium propanesulfonate groups was prepared based on a linear polyurethane with high content of ? NHCOO? structures. This compound was used both as macromolecular electrolyte and dopant ion in electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole, obtaining a molecular level polypyrrole-propanesulfonate polyurethane composite with electroconductive properties. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
