Heterostructure Acoustic Charge Transport (HACT) devices have been fabricated with a new nondestructive sense (NDS) electrode structure that provides for the recovery of base-band signals without the use of an integrating capacitor. This electrode structure provides an output signal comprising an RF carrier at the SAW frequency, amplitude modulated by the sampled input signal which has been delayed by a period proportional to the output electrodes distance from the input diode. The formation of mullite was investigated using microcomposite powders which consist of α-alumina cores and amorphous silica coatings. Differential thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction showed that the mullitization reaction was endothermic. In contrast, mullite forms exothermically in samples prepared by sol-gel processing. The results are shown to be consistent with available thermodynamic data for mullite formation from different alumina and silica phases. 相似文献

OBJECTIVE: Our purpose was to determine whether the same maternal glycemic control is necessary to achieve similar perinatal outcomes for type 1 as for type 2 diabetics. STUDY DESIGN: The subjects were all women with pregestational diabetes mellitus delivered of live-born singletons. Glycemic control was achieved with diet and insulin. Self-monitoring of blood glucose was performed before meals and at bedtime. Target glucose values were 60 to 90 mg/dl fasting and 60 to 105 mg/dl at other times. RESULTS: Of 60,628 deliveries, 46 type 1 and 113 type 2 diabetic women met inclusion criteria. Respective differences were found between type 1 and type 2 diabetics in average daily glucose levels (112 mg/dl vs 97 mg/dl, p < 0.001), percent of values within target ranges (35% vs 57%, p < 0.001), and mean amplitude of glycemic excursion (48.1 mg/dl vs 24.9 mg/dl, p < 0.001). At least one daily glucose value was < 50 mg/dl during 19% of observation days for type 1 vs 2% of observation days for type 2 pregnancies (p < 0.001). There were no statistically significant differences between type 1 and type 2 diabetic pregnancies in neonatal macrosomia (30% vs 34%), proportion of cesarean deliveries during labor for arrest disorders (67% vs 69%), shoulder dystocia (2% vs 6%), and neonatal hypoglycemia (18% vs 26%). CONCLUSIONS: Less stringent maternal glycemic control may permit comparable maternal and neonatal outcomes for type 1 compared with type 2 diabetics. Wernicke encephalopathy is considered a complication of dialytic therapy, but there are few reports of this complication. We report a 57 years old man and a 45 years old woman, with grade IV renal failure, who after acute peritoneodialysis and chronic hemodialysis respectively, had a confusional syndrome that responded to the administration of thiamine. CT scans in both patients discarded abnormal blood collections or new cerebrovascular episodes. The man bad two previous cerebrovascular episodes, a severe anemia that was corrected, angina and an episode of arrhythmia during the dialytic procedure previous to the confusional episode. The woman had an acute uremic syndrome and a concomitant urinary tract infection during the confusional episode. When planning an SDH network, explicit structure, such as rings or a network hierarchy, is often imposed to allow for easier network protection and management. Decisions on node connectivity are also heavily dependent on available transmission capacity and network geography, as well as the demands placed on the SDH transport layer. The strictly imposed structure therefore makes it unlikely for unplanned properties to appear but here we describe how the BT SDH network exhibits emergent power-law properties in a range of metrics. These properties are similar to those previously found in the Internet, but the Internet in contrast is not globally planned, has adaptive elements such as dynamic routing and peering agreements, lacks explicit imposed structure, and is less coupled to transmission topologies.This paper shows that even with a wide range of restrictions and controls the BT SDH network topology follows power-laws and we offer possible sources for them, concentrating on the possible effect of adjacent network layers. The existence of these properties has wide implications in network modelling, as well as network scaling, growth, and robustness analysis. 相似文献

We undertook the following study to quantitatively assess the changes in porcine bioprosthetic heart valve (PBHV) fiber architecture to increasing levels of fatigue damage using an in vitro accelerated test model. PBHVs were subjected to 0-500 million test cycles at 16 Hz, and small-angle light scattering (SALS) was used to quantify the gross fiber structure of the cusps. The degree of gross fiber alignment remained essentially constant from 0 to 500 million cycles over the entire cusp. Increasing fiber orientation randomness, indicative of local damage, was observed only in the vicinity of the nodulus of Arantii after 50 million cycles. The SALS data from the damaged regions suggested shearing between fiber layers, which may be part of the failure process and accelerates valve failure. Histological analysis revealed a relatively intact gross fiber structure with the collagen fiber crimp remaining, although delamination and de-registration of the crimp was also observed. Accelerated tested PBHVs also demonstrated a pronounced 'sagging', which began at the earliest cycle number tested (1.4 million cycles) and whose rate decreased logarithmically with cycle number. Results of this study suggest that PBHV cusps can alter their shape without any visually apparent material yielding or fiber failure under continual cyclic loading. Further, while most of the 4 mmHg pressure fixed PBHV's gross fiber architecture remains unchanged after 500 million cycles of accelerated testing, localized accumulated fiber damage can occur on a sub-visual structural level as early as 50 million cycles. 相似文献

The effects of different writing and reading temperatures on the switching voltage waveform, permeability, and flux state of standard nickel-copper-manganese and copper-manganese ferrite memory cores have been investigated over a temperature range of 0 to 70°C. These temperatures are well below the Curie temperatures of the materials being tested. It has been found that writing at a higher temperature than the read temperature leads to increased low temperature voltage switching thresholds, higher low frequency (<40 MHz) permeabilities, lower high frequency (>40 MHz) permeabilities, and flux states almost equal to the equilibrium value for the lower temperature. Read current pulse rise time and duration have been found to have no effect on the increase in threshold with temperature. We present an algorithmic solution to the robustness problem in computational geometry, called controlled linear perturbation, and demonstrate it on Minkowski sums of polyhedra. The robustness problem is how to implement real RAM algorithms accurately and efficiently using computer arithmetic. Approximate computation in floating point arithmetic is efficient but can assign incorrect signs to geometric predicates, which can cause combinatorial errors in the algorithm output. We make approximate computation accurate by performing small input perturbations, which we compute using differential calculus. This strategy supports fast, accurate Minkowski sum computation. The only prior robust implementation uses a less efficient algorithm, requires exact algebraic computation, and is far slower based on our extensive testing. 相似文献
