An emitting, absorbing, and anisotropically scattering plain medium containing a suspension of ZnO particles is considered, in which the particles are directly exposed to high-flux irradiation and undergo shrinkage during their endothermic dissociation into Zn(g) and O2 at above 2100 K. The unsteady energy equation that links the rate of radiative heat transfer to the rate of the chemical reaction is formulated and solved numerically by the finite volume technique and the explicit Euler time-integration scheme. The path-length Monte Carlo method is applied for modeling the radiative transfer within the suspension using the absorption/scattering coefficients and the scattering phase function obtained from the Mie theory. It is found that the particle suspension can be heated rapidly from its initial 300 K to over 1800 K in less than 0.1 s, resulting in a more uniform temperature profile as the reaction progresses, particles shrink, and the suspension becomes optically thinner. The chemical conversion increases with decreasing initial particle diameter and volume fraction due to the efficient radiative absorption.  相似文献

The notion of certificateless public-key encryption (CL-PKE) was introduced by Al-Riyami and Paterson in 2003 that avoids the drawbacks of both traditional PKI-based public-key encryption (i.e., establishing public-key infrastructure) and identity-based encryption (i.e., key escrow). So CL-PKE like identity-based encryption is certificate-free, and unlike identity-based encryption is key escrow-free. In this paper, we introduce simple and efficient CCA-secure CL-PKE based on (hierarchical) identity-based encryption. Our construction has both theoretical and practical interests. First, our generic transformation gives a new way of constructing CCA-secure CL-PKE. Second, instantiating our transformation using lattice-based primitives results in a more efficient CCA-secure CL-PKE than its counterpart introduced by Dent in 2008.  相似文献

The solar thermochemical production of H2 and CO (syngas) from H2O and CO2 is examined via a two‐step cycle based on Zn/ZnO redox reactions. The first, endothermic step is the thermolysis of the ZnO driven by concentrated solar energy. The second, nonsolar step is the exothermic reaction of Zn with a mixture of H2O and CO2 yielding syngas and ZnO; the latter is recycled to the first step. A series of experimental runs of the second step was carried out in a packed‐bed reactor where ZnO particles provided an effective inert support for preventing sintering and enabling simple and complete recycling to the first, solar step. Experimentation was performed for Zn mass fractions in the range of 33–67 wt % Zn‐ZnO, and inlet gas concentrations in the range 0–75% H2O–CO2, yielding molar Zn‐to‐ZnO conversions up to 91%. A 25 wt % Zn‐ZnO sample mixture produced from the solar thermolysis of ZnO was tested in the same reactor setup and exhibited high reactivity and conversions up to 96%. © 2011 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 2012  相似文献

Thermal radiative characteristics of packed beds containing a mixture of polydispersed SiO2, ZnO, and C particles are determined numerically by employing the Monte Carlo technique, which is validated with the experimentally measured overall transmittance. A radiative heat transfer model is formulated for a pseudo-continuum multi-component medium of Mie-scattering particles. Good agreement is achieved by incorporating approximate phase functions that reproduce the experimentally observed preference for forward scattering.  相似文献

The growth of the livestock sector is being achieved at substantial environmental costs. Today, livestock are a major stressor of the global environmental, occupying a quarter of emerged land (including a third of arable land), contributing close to a fifth of the anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions, using eight percent of all water resources and threatening a wide range of endangered species. At the same time, livestock are also a crucial engine of rural growth and a tool for improving food security. Policies are required to guide the sector in achieving sometimes conflicting development objectives. Potential pathways include encouraging resource use efficiency, correcting for environmental externalities and accelerating technological change.  相似文献

The non-catalytic autothermal gasification of woody biomass with air and steam mixtures is thermodynamically and experimentally investigated. A laboratory-scale fixed-bed downdraft reactor was used to gasify fine-grained woody biomass particles (German conifer, mean particle size = 133.7 μm) at atmospheric pressure and at 900-1020 K, with an equivalence ratio (ER) in the range 0.3-0.4 and a steam-to-biomass ratio (SB) in the range 0-0.6. The gasification efficiency and carbon conversion peaked at 35% and 83%, respectively, for ER = 0.4 and SB = 0.6. Hydrogen yield increased with both ER and SB within the ranges considered. The corresponding volumetric lower heating value of the dry gaseous product varied from 2.0 to 3.4 MJ/Nm3.  相似文献

On the Security of RSA with Primes Sharing Least-Significant Bits   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We investigate the security of a variant of the RSA public-key cryptosystem called LSBS-RSA, in which the modulus primes share a large number of least-significant bits. We show that low public-exponent LSBS-RSA is inherently resistant to Partial Key Exposure (PKE) attacks in which least-significant bits of the secret exponent are revealed to the attacker, and in particular that the Boneh-Durfee-Frankel PKE attack [5] on low public-exponent RSA is less effective for LSBS-RSA systems than for standard RSA. On the other hand, we show that large public-exponent LSBS-RSA is more vulnerable to such attacks than standard RSA. Offshore wind simulations were performed with the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model driven by three different sea surface temperature (SST) datasets for Japanese coastal waters to investigate the effect of the SST accuracies on offshore wind simulations. First, the National Centers for Environmental Prediction Final analysis (FNL) (1° × 1° grid resolution) and the Operational Sea Surface Temperature and Sea Ice Analysis (OSTIA) (0.05° × 0.05° grid resolution) datasets were compared with in situ measurements. The results show a decrease in accuracy of these datasets toward the coast from the open ocean. Aiming at an improved accuracy of SST data, we developed a new high‐resolution SST dataset (0.02° × 0.02° grid resolution). The new dataset referred to as MOSST is based on the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) product, provided by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). MOSST was confirmed to be more accurate than FNL and OSTIA for the coastal waters. Then, WRF simulations were carried out for 1 year with a 2 km grid resolution and by using the FNL, OSTIA and MOSST datasets. The use of the OSTIA dataset for a WRF simulation was found to improve the accuracy when compared with the FNL dataset, and further improvement was obtained when the MOSST dataset was applied. The sensitivity of wind speed and wind energy density to SST is also discussed. We conclude that the use of an accurate SST is a key factor not only for realistic offshore wind simulations near the surface but also for accurate wind resource assessments at the hub height of wind turbines. A general dynamic model for solar-driven thermochemical processes is formulated based on unsteady mass and energy conservation equations coupled to the reaction kinetics. It is applied to two pertinent high-temperature thermochemical reactors for fuel production that make use of concentrated solar energy as the source of process heat, namely: an indirectly irradiated batch-operated packed bed reactor for the carbothermic reduction of zinc oxide, and a directly irradiated continuously operated particle flow reactor for the steam-gasification of petcoke. Model parameter identification and validation is accomplished by comparing numerically simulated and experimentally measured temperatures and outlet product concentrations. A linear feedback controller was implemented using the LQG/LTR design method. Simulations of the controlled reactor system with real solar irradiation data indicates improved quality and steadiness of product composition throughout transient solar input phases and superior solar-to-chemical energy conversion efficiency.  相似文献
