Results from tests of the P-67 boiler used as part of a 800-MW power unit

Results from the balance tests of a retrofitted P-67 boiler carried out in the period 2006–2008 are presented. The tests involved assessment of the change with time of the heating-surface thermal efficiency coefficients in running the power unit at its base loads in the range 740–800 MW, with seven to eight coarsegrinding mills switched into operation, with the open and closed gate values installed in the channels supplying air-powder mixture to the fourth-tier burners, and with the fraction of air supplied for lower blasting equal to 5–7% and that for the startup burners, 2%. The combined cleaning system operated in its design mode with additional blowing operations according to special control signals. The furnace waterwalls and the convective shaft surfaces were subjected to mechanical cleaning every year during current repairs.     

Tests of a P-67 boiler for an 800 MW unit

The rebuilding of the P-67 boiler for an 800 MW unit at the Berezovskaya GRéS, as well as changes in the thermal engineering characteristics of the coal from the Berezovskii-1 seam and its slagging properties, are described. The results of balance tests of the boiler and changes in the thermal efficiency of heating surfaces during 2006 – 2008, including after mechanical cleaning and modernization of the combined cleaning system, as well as with coal dust coarsening and loading of the lower burner layers and downward blast, are discussed.     

Coding digital information with the use of generators with chaotic dynamics

A new method for coding graphic information is proposed. The method is based on the change in the color of each image symbol according to a pseudorandom law. Artificially designed self-oscillatory systems are used for generating a pseudorandom sequence of numbers. Results of studying the employed pseudorandom-signal generators and of encoding/decoding a color image are presented. The effect of damage in an encoded image on the restoration process is considered.

The molecular structure and electronic spectrum of the C@C60 endohedral complex: an ab initio study

We performed ab initio quantum-chemical studies at the HF and B3LYP levels of theory to determine the geometry and electronic spectra of the C@C60 complex. The STO-3G and 6-31G(d) basis sets were employed. Two different types of stable conformations for the endohedral atom related to the centers of five- and six-member rings were found. The estimated potential barrier between those conformations is small; under certain conditions, the endohedral atom can transfer from one location in the molecular cage to another. The influence of the location of endohedral carbon atom on the electronic spectrum of C60 is discussed.
