Effect of temperature and cyclic heating on the structure and strength of glass textolite

The article established the regularities of change of the physicomechanical characteristics and strength of glass textolites in single and repeated thermal loading. It shows that under multiple loading the intense loss of strength of the investigated materials is due to increased porosity on account of the large number of microcracks appearing in the structure. A correlation is obtained between the elastic and strength characteristics and porosity in dependence on the temperature of multiple heating which in the first approximation is described by a polynomial of second degree with respect to temperature, multiplied by the reciprocal of porosity.Translated from Problemy Prochnosti, No. 6, pp. 53–58, June, 1991.     

Composition of lithium aluminoborosilicate glass and abrasive

The properties of glasses of the lithium-aluminoborosilicate system were investigated, namely, the density, spreadability, thermal expansion, and nature of crystallized phases at various temperatures. A crystal-optical analysis was conducted. The glasses were used to prepare abrasive compositions. Vertical caliper gauge with digital readout for absolute dimensional measurements

A new gauge configuration for the measurement of outside dimensions up to 70 mm is described. The main advantage of the instrument is that it can be used to perform absolute measurements, i.e., without adjustment operations. Boosting MUC extraction in unsatisfiable constraint networks

One very fertile domain of applied Artificial Intelligence is constraint solving technologies. Especially, constraint networks that concern problems that can be represented using discrete variables, together with constraints on allowed instantiation values for these variables. Every solution to a constraint network must satisfy every constraint. When no solution exists, the user might want to know the actual reasons leading to the absence of global solution. In this respect, extracting mucs (Minimal Unsatisfiable Cores) from an unsatisfiable constraint network is a useful process when causes of unsatisfiability must be understood so that the network can be re-engineered and relaxed to become satisfiable. Despite bad worst-case computational complexity results, various muc-finding approaches that appear tractable for many real-life instances have been proposed. Many of them are based on the successive identification of so-called transition constraints. In this respect, we show how local search can be used to possibly extract additional transition constraints at each main iteration step. In the general constraint networks setting, the approach is shown to outperform a technique based on a form of model rotation imported from the sat-related technology and that also exhibits additional transition constraints. Our extensive computational experimentations show that this enhancement also boosts the performance of state-of-the-art DC(WCORE)-like MUC extractors.     

Improving the yield of NoC-based systems through fault diagnosis and adaptive routing

We propose an effective and low cost method to increase the yield and the lifetime of torus NoCs. The method consists in detecting and diagnosing NoC interconnect faults using BIST structures and activating alternative paths for the faulty links. Alternative paths use the inherent redundancy of the torus topology, thus leading to minimal performance, area, and power overhead. We assume an extended interconnect fault model comprising stuck-at and pairwise shorts within a single link or between any two links in the network. Experimental results for a 3×3 NoC show that the proposed approach can correctly diagnose 93% of all possible interconnect faults and can mitigate 42% of those faults (representing 94.4% of the solvable faults) with a worst case performance penalty of 8% and 1% of area overhead. We also demonstrate the scalability of the method by presenting its application to larger NoCs.     

A Declarative Approach to Network Device Configuration Correctness

Configuration Logic (CL) is a formal language that allows a network engineer to express constraints in terms of the actual parameters found in the configuration of network devices. We present an efficient algorithm that can automatically check a pool of devices for conformance to a set of CL constraints; moreover, this algorithm can point to the part of the configuration responsible for the error when a constraint is violated. Contrary to other validation approaches that require dumping the configuration of the whole network to a central location in order to be verified, we also present an algorithm that analyzes the correct formulas and greatly helps reduce the amount of data that need to be transferred to that central location, pushing as much of the evaluation of the formula locally on each device. The procedure is also backwards-compatible, in such a way that a device that does not (or only partially) supports a local evaluation may simply return a subset or all of its configuration. These capabilities have been integrated into a network management tool called ValidMaker.
