Numerical Analysis of Blast Furnace Performance Under Charging IronBearing Burdens With High Reducibility

The reducibility of ironbearing burdens was emphasized for improving the operation efficiency of blast furnace. The blast furnace operation of charging the burdens with high reducibility has been numerically evaluated using a multifluid blast furnace model. The effects of reaction rate constants and diffusion coefficients were investigated separately or simultaneously for clarifying the variations of furnace state. According to the model simulation results, in the upper zone, the indirect reduction of the burdens proceeds at a faster rate and the shaft efficiency is enhanced with the improvement under the conditions of interface reaction and intraparticle diffusion. In the lower zone, direct reduction in molten slag is restrained. As a consequence, CO utilization of top gas is enhanced and the ratio of direct reduction is decreased. It is possible to achieve higher energy efficiency of the blast furnace, and this is represented by the improvement in productivity and the decrease in consumption of reducing agent. The use of highreducibility burdens contributes to a better performance of blast furnace. More efforts are necessary to develop and apply highreducibility sinter and carbon composite agglomerates for practical application at a blast furnace.

高压溶出贵州铝土矿时硅钛矿物的相变化

结合贵州铝土矿的实际矿物组成,研究了溶出过程中添加石灰对铝土矿中硅矿物溶解的作用和对赤泥相变的作用,认为按C/S=1.50～1.64添加石灰为最佳,并发现了羟基钛酸钙和含钛水化石榴石两个主要新相。结合贵州铝土矿给出了新的氧化铝理论溶出率计算公式。     

Simultaneous detection of surface coverage and structure of krypton films on gold by helium atom diffraction and quartz crystal microbalance techniques

We describe a quartz crystal microbalance setup that can be operated at low temperatures in ultra high vacuum with gold electrode surfaces acting as substrate surface for helium diffraction measurements. By simultaneous measurement of helium specular reflection intensity from the electrode surface and resonance frequency shift of the crystal during film adsorption, helium diffraction data can be correlated to film thickness. In addition, effects of interfacial viscosity on the helium diffraction pattern could be observed. To this end, first, flat gold films on AT cut quartz crystals were prepared which yield high enough helium specular reflection intensity. Then the crystals were mounted in the helium diffractometer sample holder and driven by means of a frequency modulation driving setup. Different crystal geometries were tested to obtain the best quality factor and preliminary measurements were performed on Kr films on gold surfaces. While the crystal structure and coverage of krypton films as a function of substrate temperature could successfully be determined, no depinning effects could be observed.     

High-rate low-temperature dc pulsed magnetron sputtering of photocatalytic TiO2 films: the effect of repetition frequency

The article reports on low-temperature high-rate sputtering of hydrophilic transparent TiO₂ thin films using dc dual magnetron (DM) sputtering in Ar + O₂ mixture on unheated glass substrates. The DM was operated in a bipolar asymmetric mode and was equipped with Ti(99.5) targets of 50 mm in diameter. The substrate surface temperature T_surf measured by a thermostrip was less than 180 °C for all experiments. The effect of the repetition frequency f_r was investigated in detail. It was found that the increase of f_r from 100 to 350 kHz leads to (a) an improvement of the efficiency of the deposition process that results in a significant increase of the deposition rate a_D of sputtered TiO₂ films and (b) a decrease of peak pulse voltage and sustaining of the magnetron discharge at higher target power densities. It was demonstrated that several hundreds nm thick hydrophilic TiO₂ films can be sputtered on unheated glass substrates at a_D = 80 nm/min, T_surf < 180 °C when high value of f_r = 350 kHz was used. Properties of a thin hydrophilic TiO₂ film deposited on a polycarbonate substrate are given.
