关系数据库机TDM中的数据分布策略(英文)

In order to solve the problem of inefficiency of the conventional database systems,the reseorch on database machines was proposed.Database machines with their speciaiized hardware and high-parallel processing capacity,provide substantial support to enhance the effic iency of database systems.Summaring up the previous research work on this area,considering theore-rational features of relational databases and using the microprocessor technology, we present a Tree-structured Database Machine (TDM) to support lar-ge relational database systems.     

面向并行存取的关系水平划分策略——MMP法

数据划分是数据库机并行I/O存取研究中的一个重要问题,对数据库机设计有较大影响。本文就关系数据库机多机多盘的并行处理环境,提出了一种面向并行存取的关系水平划分策略:多步多属性划分法(MMP法)。由于MMP法考虑了关系属性值域的语义联系,查询分布信息以及关系片段的均匀性等因素,因而可获得良好的实际分布效果。通过比较表明,MMP法明显优于其他一些同类方法,文中还对MMP法的分布效果作了性能分析。
