An autosomal genome scan for quantitative trait loci (QTL) affecting milk production traits was carried out on the Norwegian Dairy Cattle population. Six half-sibling families with a total of 285 sons organized according to a granddaughter design were analyzed by a multiple marker regression method. Suggestive QTL for one or several of the five milk traits (milk yield, protein percentage, protein yield, fat percentage and fat yield) were detected on chromosomes 3, 5, 6, 11, 13, 18 and 20. Among these results, the findings on chromosomes 3, 6, and 20 are highly supported by literature. The most convincing result was found close to marker FBN9 on chromosome 6, where a QTL was detected with alleles that cause a marked reduction in both protein and fat percentages and an increase in milk yield. The results for fat and protein percentage were highly significant even after accounting for multiple testing across the genome. Using bootstrapping, a 95% confidence interval for the position of the QTL for the percentage traits on chromosome 6 was estimated to 16 cM.  相似文献

Here, modeling and computations are performed to explore the impact of variable molecular diffusivity, nonlinear thermal radiation, convective boundary conditions, momentum slip, and variable molecular diffusivity on Prandtl fluid past a stretching sheet. By using the compatible transformation, the partial differential equations regarding momentum, energy, and concentration are reformed into ordinary differential equations and furthermore, these equations are handled numerically via the shooting method. The behavior of intricate parameters that emerge during numerical simulation is displayed in the form of tables and graphs. These outcomes are supplemented with the information for the heat transfer rate and surface drag coefficients. It is perceived that an uplift in the temperature profile occurs by virtue of augmentation in the temperature convection parameter, and furthermore, mass fraction field escalates owing to an amplification in the chemical reaction coefficient.  相似文献

Test-day data for daily milk yield and fat, protein, and lactose content were sampled from the years 1988 to 2003 in 17 flocks belonging to 2 genetically well-tied buck circles. In total, records from 2,111 to 2,215 goats for content traits and 2,371 goats for daily milk yield were included in the analysis, averaging 2.6 and 4.8 observations per goat for the 2 groups of traits, respectively. The data were analyzed by using 4 test-day models with different modeling of fixed effects. Model [0] (the reference model) contained a fixed effect of year-season of kidding with regression on Ali-Schaeffer polynomials nested within the year-season classes, and a random effect of flock test-day. In model [1], the lactation curve effect from model [0] was replaced by a fixed effect of days in milk (in 3-d periods), the same for all year-seasons of kidding. Models [2] and [3] were obtained from model [1] by removing the fixed year-season of kidding effect and considering the flock test-day effect as either fixed or random, respectively. The models were compared by using 2 criteria: mean-squared error of prediction and a test of bias affecting the genetic trend. The first criterion indicated a preference for model [3], whereas the second criterion preferred model [1]. Mean-squared error of prediction is based on model fit, whereas the second criterion tests the ability of the model to produce unbiased genetic evaluation (i.e., its capability of separating environmental and genetic time trends). Thus, a fixed structure with year (year, year-season, or possibly flock-year) was indicated to appropriately separate time trends. Heritability estimates for daily milk yield and milk content were 0.26 and 0.24 to 0.27, respectively.  相似文献

The effects of caprine arthritis-encephalitis virus on lactational performance of goats were examined. The results of an ELISA for antibodies against caprine arthritis-encephalitis virus were compared with milk production records. Mean production of milk, protein, fat, and lactose and somatic cell counts were compared for seropositive and seronegative goats of similar ages. The results from 1799 lactating goats from 66 herds suggested that milk production was similar for 1-yr-old goats that tested seropositive and those that tested seronegative. For 900 of those goats for which data permitted comparison, milk fat and protein were also similar. A comparison of 331 goats showed that lactose contents did not differ between 1- and 2-yr-old goats, but somatic cell counts were higher in 2-yr-old seropositive goats.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a novel class of high-order competitive neural networks with mixed delays. Different from the previous literature, we study the existence and exponential stability of weighted pseudo-almost automorphic on time–space scales solutions for the suggested system. Our method is mainly based on the Banach’s fixed point theorem, the theory of calculus on time scales and the Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional method. Moreover, a numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the main results.  相似文献
