In the present study, spinel structure CoFe2O4 nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by the sol-gel auto-combustion technique. The effect of apple cider vinegar (ACV) addition as an organic biocompatible agent on the size, morphology, and magnetic properties of CoFe2O4 nanoparticles was investigated in detail. The phase evolution, particle size, and lattice parameter changes of the synthesized phase have been estimated by using Rietveld structure refinement analysis of X-ray powder diffraction data. Also, Fourier transform infrared spectra (FT-IR) of the samples verified the presence of two expected bands correspond to tetrahedral and octahedral metal-oxygen complexes within the spinel structure. Furthermore, microstructural observations revealed that ultrafine particles have a semi-spherical morphology. It was shown that the particles size decreased from ~45 to ~17 nm with an increase in the amount of ACV. Magnetic properties were carried out by vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) at room temperature. Both the saturation magnetization (Ms) and coercivity (Hc) were found to be significantly dependent on the crystallite size and the amount of ACV.  相似文献

Today's strict environmental laws pose significant challenges for coating's formulators to look for eco-friendly products. Powder coatings, particularly polyester/epoxy blends have demonstrated their ability as alternatives to traditional solvent-borne coatings. Recently, the use of nanoparticles such as nano-CaCO3 (nCaCO3) has been suggested as a beneficial strategy towards powder coating application with improved properties. Here, we study the effect of nCaCO3 on morphology, cure behavior, adhesion and hardness of polyester/epoxy systems. The nanoparticles shape, size and dispersion state were investigated through X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) methods. Furthermore, isothermal cure characterization of the neat and filled systems was performed using a torque rheometer. The most important finding based on the rheological studies was the catalytic effect of nCaCO3 on cure reaction of polyester/epoxy, leading to the shorter curing time. Moreover, the kinetic analyses of rheograms revealed a marked decrease in the activation energy of the cure process upon raising nCaCO3 content. Interestingly, pull-off adhesion and hardness tests showed that the hardness and adhesion strength were dramatically increased by the addition of nCaCO3 into the polyester/epoxy system compared to pure blend resin. Therefore, considering the strong competition in powder coating market, the use of nCaCO3 as a commercial and inexpensive nanofiller is necessary not only to reduce the dwell time which has benefits in terms of the energy consumption and economics, but also to improve the performance of final polyester/epoxy coating.  相似文献

Nonlinear transmission lines (NLTL) are used for pulse shaping. We developed the theory of pulse propagation through the NLTL. The problem of a wide pulse degenerating into multiple pulses rather than a single pulse is solved by using a gradually scaled NLTL. We exploit certain favorable properties of accumulation-mode MOS varactors to design an NLTL that can simultaneously sharpen both rising and falling edges. There is a good agreement among the theory, simulations, and measurements.  相似文献

Abstract  

Silica-coated cobalt ferrite nanoparticles were prepared and functionalized with Schiff base groups to yield immobilized bidentate ligands. The functionalized magnetic nanoparticles were then treated with Mo (O2)2(acac)2, resulting in the novel immobilized molybdenum Schiff base catalyst. The as-prepared catalyst was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, vibrating sample magnetometry, thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier transform infrared, and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy. The immobilized molybdenum complex was shown to be an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the oxidation of various alkenes using t-BuOOH as oxidant. This catalyst, which is easily recovered by simple magnetic decantation, could be reused several times without significant degradation in catalytic activity.  相似文献

An emerging issue in Denmark is passive smoking in residential buildings where non-smokers are exposed to smoke from their neighbours. There are various ways that smoke is transferred from one flat to another. The air transfer rate between two flats in a multi-storey building depends on its construction, tightness and age. This paper presents results of a study on the transfer of ultrafine particles and tracer gas in an older multi-storey building in Copenhagen. The aim of the study was to quantify the transfer ofultrafine particles and gases from one flat to another fiat before and after sealing the floor. A new floor-sealing method was applied to seal the floor between the two flats. The sealing method was developed by a firm specialising in sealing. Indoor ultrafine particle concentrations and tracer gas were measured continuously in the two fiats during the measuring periods. In the unoccupied fiat, the gas source was N20 and the particle source was burning cigarettes. Reduction of the concentration of ultrafine particles and tracer gas by sealing the floor with polyethylene and joint filler made of bitumen was studied. It was evaluated how the sealing performed with regard to decreasing the amount of ultrafine particles and a tracer gas transferred between two fiats separated by a floor. When the floor between the flats was not sealed, the results showed that about 4% of the ultraflne particles and 14% of the tracer gas were transferred. After sealing, the amount transferred was reduced to 1.6% and 5%, respectively.  相似文献

Recently user quality of experience (QoE) is employed in evaluating end user satisfaction in communications systems. Generally, current approaches for QoE assessment are obtrusive, laboratory based and offline. Estimation of user satisfaction in static manner based on mean opinion score is not directly related to instantaneous individual end user contentment. In this paper, based on correlations between user’s physiological signals and her/his feelings about the service quality, a non-intrusive and user centric QoE assessment system for voice communications is developed. The findings of this study indicate that the emotional patterns in response to the changes in channel quality can be adapted to estimate the level of satisfaction in a QoE assessment system in a live manner. Based on experimental results, two categories of users are identified: sensitive and insensitive towards quality degradations. The results indicate that for the sensitive users, our non-intrusive subjective quality assessment method outperforms ITU-T P.563 standard with respect to root mean square error; while, the results are much better among the insensitive users.  相似文献

Polypropylene fibres which can be conventionally dyeable using disperse dyes have been prepared by alloying with nylon 6 and a polypropylene grafted maleic anhydride compatibiliser during extrusion.
