We present an entropic component analysis for identifying key parameters or variables and the joint effects of various parameters that characterize complex systems. This approach identifies key parameters through solving the variable selection problem. It consists of two steps. First, a Bayesian approach is utilized to convert the variable selection problem into the model selection problem. Second, the model selection is achieved uniquely by evaluating the information difference of models by relative entropies of these models and a reference model. We study a geological sample classification problem, where a brine sample from Texas and Oklahoma oil field is considered, to illustrate and examine the proposed approach. The results are consistent with qualitative analysis of the lithology and quantitative discriminant function analysis. Furthermore, the proposed approach reveals the joint effects of the parameters, while it is unclear from the discriminant function analysis. The proposed approach could be thus promising to various geological data analysis.  相似文献

This paper examines the optimization of the process parameters of GZO films deposited on polyethylene terephthalate substrates by R.F. magnetron sputtering using the Taguchi method, aiming to obtain highly transparent and conductive films. The influences of the various sputtering factors (R.F. power, sputtering pressure, deposition time, substrate temperature and post-annealing temperature) on electrical resistivity and structural, morphological and optical transmittance of GZO films are analyzed. The electrical resistivity and the optical transmittance of GZO films were improved by post-annealing the substrate during the deposition process. Experimental results indicate the optimal process parameters in GZO films deposited on polyethylene terephthalate substrates can be determined effectively. The electrical resistivity of GZO films is decreased from 1.194 × 10−3 Ω cm to 8.627 × 10−4 Ω cm and the optical transmittance is increased from 86.148% to 90%, leading to multiple performance characteristics in deposition qualities through the Grey–Taguchi method.  相似文献

In order to unravel the relation of the nanostructure of Cr4+:Y3Al5O12 (Cr4+:YAG) crystal fibers controlled by the laser-heated pedestal growth (LHPG) technique with different growth conditions, the nanostructural analysis of Cr:YAG crystal fiber was investigated by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), which offers nano-scale information in the core region and inner/outer cladding interface and the mechanism of inter-diffusion process during growth. HRTEM analysis indicates that the core has high crystallinity and a sharp core/inner-cladding interface. γ-Al2O3 nanocrystals were formed during YAG/SiO2 inter-diffusion. To further enhance the Cr4+ concentration in YAG crystal fiber, the Cr4+ ions were replenished using an electron gun to deposit Cr2O3 and divalent-ion oxide (CaO or MgO) on the source rod circumference before LHPG. It was observed that Ca2+ diffuses into the source rod more efficiently than Mg2+, while generating fewer defects and stacking faults.  相似文献

Polycrystalline samples of Pb[(1 − x)(Zr1/2Ti1/2) − x(Zn1/3Ta2/3)]O 3 , where x = 0.1–0.5 were prepared by the columbite and wolframite methods. The crystal structure, microstructure, and dielectric properties of the sintered ceramics were investigated as a function of composition via X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and dielectric spectroscopy. The results indicated that the presence of Pb(Zn1/3Ta2/3)O3 (PZnTa) in the solid solution decreased the structural stability of overall perovskite phase. A transition from tetragonal to pseudo-cubic symmetry was observed as the PZnTa content increased and a co-existence of tetragonal and pseudo-cubic phases was observed at a composition close to x = 0.1. Examination of the dielectric spectra indicated that PZT–PZnTa exhibited an extremely high relative permittivity at the MPB composition. The permittivity showed a ferroelectric to paraelectric phase transition at 330 °C with a maximum value of 19,600 at 100 Hz at the MPB composition.  相似文献

For the elderly and chronic patients with cardiovascular disease who live alone, it is necessary to constantly monitor their physiological parameters, especially the electrocardiogram (ECG), to effectively prevent and control their health condition and even to provide urgent treatment or care while an emergency such as the abnormal variation of heart rate (HR) occurs. In this paper, a wireless in-home physiological monitoring system, based on multi-hop relay communications, which can ubiquitously and continuously monitor the patient's ECG at any time or any place at home without space limit and the “dead spot” due to the extended communication coverage by multi-hop wireless connectivity, is proposed. The system consists of a mobile-care device, which is responsible for capturing and wirelessly sending the patient's ECG data, a wireless multi-hop relay network (WMHRN) that is in charge of relaying the data sent by the former, and a residential gateway (RG), which is responsible for gathering and uploading the received ECG data to the remote care server through the Internet to carry out the patient's health condition monitoring and the management of pathological data. However, in order to assure that the ECG data can be effectively and timely forwarded, from the mobile-care device to the RG through the WMHRN, to meet the healthcare quality of service (H-QoS) demand for reliable and real-time end-to-end ECG transmission, the analysis of WMHRN latency in data-forwarding stage and the deployment consideration of wireless relay nodes are investigated in detail in this work. Moreover, an emergency alert service using short message service (SMS), based on the detection of abnormal variation of HR, is also used in the RG to further enhance the healthcare service quality. A prototype of this system has been developed and implemented. Finally, the experimental results are presented to verify the feasibility of the proposed system.  相似文献

Using a standard logic process, 0.13-/spl mu/m RF CMOS devices with multifinger gate structure have been fabricated. The flicker noise and minimum noise figure characteristics have been investigated with different gate layout splits, where the device parasitic resistance is the determining factor in this issue. The stripe-shaped gate configuration demonstrates better noise performance, due to the reduction of device gate resistance. In addition, the MOS varactors designed with different gate layouts were used in a 5.2-GHz voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) design, where the VCO with the stripe-shaped (2 /spl mu/m /spl times/ 36 fingers) gate varactor improved about 6 dB in phase-noise performance at 100-kHz offset frequency than that of square-shaped (8 /spl mu/m /spl times/ 9 fingers) gate varactor.  相似文献

In this work, the two-step iteration combined with the nonlinear multiple regression technique to extract physical parameters for diodes, using a simple physical-based current–voltage (IV) model is demonstrated. This statistical method can be applied for sampling for a wide variety of diodes including light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and Schottky diodes. Our results show the technique is an accurate and systematic approach for extracting diode parameters. The calculated recombination currents indicate the recombination efficiency for LEDs and the quality for Schottky diodes.  相似文献

Small data-set learning problems are attracting more attention because of the short product lifecycles caused by the increasing pressure of global competition. Although statistical approaches and machine learning algorithms are widely applied to extract information from such data, these are basically developed on the assumption that training samples can represent the properties of the whole population. However, as the properties that the training samples contain are limited, the knowledge that the learning algorithms extract may also be deficient. Virtual sample generation approaches, used as a kind of data pretreatment, have proved their effectiveness when handling small data-set problems. By considering the relationships among attributes in the value generation procedure, this research proposes a non-parametric process to learn the trend similarities among attributes, and then uses these to estimate the corresponding ranges that attribute values may be located in when other attribute values are given. The ranges of the attribute values of the virtual samples are then stepwise estimated using the triangular membership functions (MFs) built to represent the attribute sample distributions. In the experiment, two real cases are examined with four modelling tools, including the M5′ model tree (M5′), multiple linear regression, support vector regression and back-propagation neural network. The results show that the forecasting accuracies of the four modelling tools are improved when training sets contain virtual samples. In addition, the outcomes of the proposed procedure show significantly smaller predictive errors than those of other approaches.  相似文献

Under metabolic stress conditions such as hypoxia and glucose deprivation, an increase in the AMP:ATP ratio activates the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathway, resulting in the modulation of cellular metabolism. Metformin, which is widely prescribed for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients, regulates blood sugar by inhibiting hepatic gluconeogenesis and promoting insulin sensitivity to facilitate glucose uptake by cells. At the molecular level, the most well-known mechanism of metformin-mediated cytoprotection is AMPK pathway activation, which modulates metabolism and protects cells from degradation or pathogenic changes, such as those related to aging and diabetic retinopathy (DR). Recently, it has been revealed that metformin acts via AMPK- and non-AMPK-mediated pathways to exert effects beyond those related to diabetes treatment that might prevent aging and ameliorate DR. This review focuses on new insights into the anticancer effects of metformin and its potential modulation of several novel types of nonapoptotic cell death, including ferroptosis, pyroptosis, and necroptosis. In addition, the antimetastatic and immunosuppressive effects of metformin and its hypothesized mechanism are also discussed, highlighting promising cancer prevention strategies for the future.  相似文献
