OBJECTIVE: To describe the health status of a population over 60 years and to study their relationship with several socio-demographic variables. DESIGN: A cross-sectional study, population based. SETTINGS: A community. PARTICIPANTS: A randomized sample of 1,103 non institutionalized people over 60 years living in the city of Cordoba (Spain). MEASUREMENTS AND MAIN RESULTS: By mean of a personal interview at home we used the OARS-MFAQ-VE questionnaire. Low self-rated health was associated with the age, to be female sex, a low cultural background, and a low income. Only 5.2% of the study people do not suffered any illness and 56% state that their health problems are major problems for doing their current activities. 4.9% declared to have some degree of physical incapacity. 3.7% of elderly population has an important cognitive deficit. CONCLUSIONS: The majority of elderly people has good health. Age is related with a poor health. Women have more health problems than men.  相似文献

This work is part of a project aimed to develop automotive real-time observers based on detailed nonlinear multibody models and the extended Kalman filter (EKF). In previous works, a four-bar mechanism was studied to get insight into the problem. Regarding the formulation of the equations of motion, it was concluded that the state-space reduction method known as matrix-R is the most suitable one for this application. Regarding the sensors, it was shown that better stability, accuracy and efficiency are obtained as the sensored magnitude is a lower derivative and when it is a generalized coordinate of the problem. In the present work, the automotive problem has been addressed, through the selection of a Volkswagen Passat as a case-study. A model of the car containing fifteen degrees of freedom has been developed. The observer algorithm that combines the equations of motion and the integrator has been reformulated so that duplication of the problem size is avoided, in order to improve efficiency. A maneuver of acceleration from rest and double lane change has been defined, and tests have been run for the “prototype,” the “model” and the “observer,” all the three computational, with the model having 100 kg more than the prototype. Results have shown that good convergence is obtained for position level sensors, but the computational cost is high, still far from real-time performance.  相似文献

The curing kinetics of a general purpose unsaturated polyester (UP) with styrene was studied by differential scanning calorimetry and dielectric capacitance measurements. Benzoyl peroxide was used as initiator. Results showed that there is a complete change in the phenomenological kinetics, in different temperature ranges. At low temperatures (70–90°C), the rate went through a maximum and then showed a first-order decay. At high temperatures (100–160°C) a second-order kinetics was suitable for all the conversion range. At T > 160°C another mechanism took place when the initiator amount was less than a critical value. From the changes in the dielectric capacitance it was inferred that the conversion rate of UP unsaturations followed a first-order decay after a certain conversion, with an activation energy close to values reported for diffusion of UP radicals. Possible free radical mechanisms accounting for experimental observations are discussed.  相似文献

Fracture and mechanical characterization of bone composite composed of polymethylmethacrylate and hydroxyapatite (HA) at different contents was carried out. Hydroxyapatite is added in order to improve cement biocompatibility, but it is expected that it also affects mechanical properties. Specimens were either stored in air at 37°C for 120 h or in physiological solution (PhS-37), in order to establish the influence of storage conditions upon mechanical behavior. One set of specimens was also postcured at 120°C for 4 h to take into account the influence of free monomer. Fracture experiments revealed some non-linearity in load–displacement records and differences in trends between initiation and propagation values of the fracture surface energies. The trends in the data shows that HA acts as a rigid filler enhancing fracture resistance, flexural modules and yield stress, up to a certain content. Beyond the latter limit, properties suffer a deterioration because the addition of HA also affects the cement porosity. Absorbed water acts as plasticizer leading to a decrease in mechanical properties.
