The influence of minor amounts of pro‐ and anti‐oxidants on the kinetics of the autoxidation of fat has been evaluated. The reaction rates of oxygen with the substrates were found to follow the same basic equation, hitherto established for pure substrates. There is evidence that the surface of the reaction vessel also acts as a reaction catalyst and its effect is proportional to the area of glass in contact with lipids. Oxidation is enhanced by trace metal ions as well as by surface‐active compounds (e.g. hydroperoxides and sterols). Antioxidants such as α‐tocopherol and butylated hydroxyanisole inhibit the oxidation by delaying the start of oxygen consumption (the induction period) while retarders like amino acids only decrease the rate of oxidation. Thus pro‐ and anti‐ oxidants affect either the start or the rate of oxygen consumption. The empirical formula dx/dt = k [O2] (1‐x/n) f′(t) was found applicable to the different stages of oxidation.  相似文献

Sesame seed (Sesamum indicum L.) is a rich source of furofuran lignans with a wide range of potential biological activities. The major lignans in sesame seeds are the oil‐soluble sesamin and sesamolin, as well as glucosides of sesaminol and sesamolinol that reside in the defatted sesame flour. Upon refining of sesame oil, acid‐catalyzed transformation of sesamin to episesamin and of sesamolin to epimeric sesaminols takes place, making the profile of refined sesame oils different from that of virgin oils. In this study, the total lignan content of 14 sesame seeds ranged between 405 and 1178 mg/100 g and the total lignan content in 14 different products, including tahini, ranged between 11 and 763 mg/100 g. The content of sesamin and sesamolin in ten commercial virgin and roasted sesame oils was in the range of 444–1601 mg/100 g oil. In five refined sesame oils, sesamin ranged between 118 and 401 mg/100 g seed, episesamin between 12 and 206 mg/100 g seed, and the total contents of sesaminol epimers between 5 and 35 mg/100 g seed, and no sesamolin was found. Thus, there is a great variation in the types and amounts of lignans in sesame seeds, seed products and oils. This knowledge is important for nutritionists working on resolving the connection between diet and health. Since the consumption of sesame seed products is increasing steadily in Europe and USA, it is important to include sesame seed lignans in databases and studies pertinent to the nutritional significance of antioxidants and phytoestrogens. It is also important to differentiate between virgin, roasted and refined sesame oils.  相似文献

A process for deep trench filling by BenzoCycloButene (BCB) polymer is explored. Deep trenches with 100-μm depth and different aspect ratios from 1.4 to 20 have been successfully filled by BCB. Besides, chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) of BCB is studied with the main goals of smoothing surface topography of substrate after BCB filling and removing excess BCB coating which may be necessary in some applications. Removal rate for BCB, V RR, of about 0.24 μm/min has been achieved for hard cured BCB films using acid slurry. After CMP, the BCB layer showed a roughness of about 1.36 nm (Rq, measured by atomic force microscopy, AFM).  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to carry out extensive numerical investigations about the effect of various structural parameters on the dynamic performance of stiffened box steel bridge pier under a strong earthquake ground motion. The considered structural parameters are the local slenderness ratios of stiffener and stiffened wall as well as the global slenderness ratio of the pier. In the present study, all investigated piers are made of high tensile steel with high yield ratio. The non-linear time history analyses are carried out using in-house Finite Element Program DYNAPSS, recently developed by the first author. This program is verified by comparing its results with the results obtained by the general FE program. In this program, the geometrical nonlinearity is considered on the bases of Total Lagrangian formulation, while the non-linearity of structural steel material is considered through implementation of modified multisurface cyclic plasticity model by which real characteristics of high tensile steel material such as, Plateau, Massing type of Bauschinger??s effect, disappearing of Plateau and cyclic strain hardening, are accurately modeled. The results are closely examined in respect with the damage index criterion. From this study, it is found that the increase in slenderness ratios of stiffener does not only increase the damage index, but also may lead to the full collapse. Furthermore, the damage index increases with the increase of local slenderness ratio of stiffened wall and the global slenderness ratio. Also, it is found that when the loacal buckling is not the dominant eigen mode and the pier behave as a single degree of freedom, the natural period has destructive effects when it is close to predominant period of the earthquake. Finally, contour plots of damage index values are presented. These contour plots may be greatly useful for the design of stiffened box steel bridge piers, where, critical values of structural parameters corresponding to certain value of damage index could be determined.  相似文献

One of the most important issues which attract the researcher is to provide a secure channel to transfer data between many points. Television cloud has many contents which are needed to be transferred to authorized groups (AuthGs). Also, the transfer rate is an aspect to be considered. In this work, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing is investigated to be sure it is acceptable for the cloud and use many transforms to choose the perfect one for the cloud. The investigation is done under fading channel condition. Peak signal-to-noise ratio is used to differentiate between cases. Many tests are also suggested to confirm the high quality of performance for the cloud.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The increasing demand for fresh-like food products and the potential health hazards of chemically preserved and processed food products have led to the advent of alternative technologies for the preservation and maintenance of the freshness of the food products. One such preservation strategy is the usage of bacteriocins or bacteriocins producing starter cultures for the preservation of the intended food matrixes. Bacteriocins are ribosomally synthesized smaller polypeptide molecules that exert antagonistic activity against closely related and unrelated group of bacteria. This review is aimed at bringing to lime light the various class of bacteriocins mainly from gram positive bacteria. The desirable characteristics of the bacteriocins which earn them a place in food preservation technology, the success story of the same in various food systems, the various challenges and the strategies employed to put them to work efficiently in various food systems has been discussed in this review. From the industrial point of view various aspects like the improvement of the producer strains, downstream processing and purification of the bacteriocins and recent trends in engineered bacteriocins has also been briefly discussed in this review.  相似文献

In this paper, the quality metrics suite for object oriented (OO) design is partially used as an initial concept to develop metrics for statically measuring quality of KADS-domain knowledge bases. KADS-domain knowledge bases have common characteristics with OO, and other distinct features that limit the usage of some OO quality metrics. Therefore, new sets of domain knowledge quality metrics are proposed. The proposed matrices are enriched with an automatic tool used to measure quality of real world expert systems. In order to assess the effectiveness of these proposed quality metrics, these metrics were applied on a sample of real world agriculture application domains developed by CLAES (The Central Laboratory of Agriculture Expert System). Finally, complete analysis of the results obtained due to applying these metrics is presented.  相似文献

The flow patterns within a hydrocyclone separator system have been studied experimentally using particle image velocimetry (PIV) and computationally via large eddy simulations (LES). Various aspects of the flow field such as the process of air core structure formation, pressure and velocity distributions within the system have been characterized. Detailed flow field information in the form of velocity vector maps of entire planes have been obtained experimentally and reproduced computationally. Good qualitative agreements between velocity vector fields, air core structure and averaged velocity distributions have been achieved. LES is deemed to be an adequate methodology for modelling the air core structure and flow patterns of the surrounding liquid in a hydrocyclone separator system.  相似文献
