On the basis of a geological - volcanological - geophysical survey, integrated with petrological and geochronological data, a structural model, including a shallow magmatic body, was defined for the Ribeira Grande area, Sao Miguel island (Azores). Two series of production tests were carried out in the Pico Vermelho 1 and Ribeira Grande 1 wells, which led to a preliminary definition of the deep fluid circulation. We report the effects of treatment with plasma-exchange (PE) and intravenous immune globulins (IVIg) in 36 out of 50 patients with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) recruited by an incidence study in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. Comparison of the patients treated with PE and IVIg showed no significant differences in terms of effectiveness in improving the clinical course of GBS: at one month, respectively 11.1% and 25% had recovered, and 55.5% and 58.3% had improved by at least one grade. These results are in agreement with those of the Dutch GBS trial. No relapses were observed in either group. Moreover, our results showed no difference in clinical outcome at 1 and 3 months between the patients receiving only one therapy and those receiving two; a second cycle of therapy did not seem to improve the clinical course of the disease significantly. We conclude that PE and IVIg are both safe and effective therapies for GBS. 相似文献

A line flow of scatterers crossing the sound field produced by a focused circular transducer at uniform velocity originates a quasi-triangular Doppler spectrum. It is known that the spectrum shape and width depend on the line flow to beam axis angle, as well as on the transducer geometry. It has recently been theoretically predicted that this spectrum width is independent of the flow line location in the sound field. Experimental verification of the new theorem, based on the use of a thread phantom operated at various orientations, ranges, and offsets, with respect to the ultrasound transducer, is presented. The tests were made with a computerized pulsed Doppler system designed to perform optimal real-time spectral analysis of data obtained in this application. The prototype system and the experimental procedure adopted for demonstrating in vitro the invariance of the Doppler spectral bandwidth are described. 相似文献

The small pore zeolite HLZ 132 exhibits, in comparison with other zeolites, an increased selectivity for the transformation of methanol to ethylene in the reaction temperature range 350–500 °C: the weight ratio of C2H4 to C3H6 in the products ranges between 1 and 4 at WHSV=2 h–1. Besides the effect of the reactant shape selectivity this fact may be interpreted by the participation of the asymmetrical methoxy groups in the surface as well as by proton-donor centres of lower acidity which do not catalyze the oligomerization of ethylene but which do the more basic molecule of propylene, thereby generating polyene-type coke. 相似文献

Alumina (Al2O3) coatings of different thickness were deposited on OT59 brass substrate (BS) using the metal organic chemical vapour deposition (MOCVD) technique to evaluate the corrosion performance by EIS measurements. The used precursor was dimethyl-aluminium-isopropoxide. Electrochemical characterizations of the deposited films were performed in a standard very aggressive acidic solution (aerated 1N H2SO4 at 25 °C up to 168 h of immersion time) by means of direct current method (Tafel curves) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy (RBS) indicated that the films are very pure with the correct Al2O3 stoichiometry, while the IR absorption spectra showed that the films did not contain any OH groups. The surface film morphology was investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and displayed a globular texture. The films were very smooth, with a maximum root mean square roughness, for example, of 14 nm for a 0.96 μm thick coating. The EIS data confirmed, as expected, that a 2.40 μm Al2O3 layer ensures the best corrosion protection after 168 h of immersion in the very acidic environment used. 相似文献

Two-Photon Lithography, thanks to its very high sub-diffraction resolution, has become the lithographic technique par excellence in applications requiring small feature sizes and complex 3D pattering. Despite this, the fabrication times required for extended structures remain much longer than those of other competing techniques (UV mask lithography, nanoimprinting, etc.). Its low throughput prevents its wide adoption in industrial applications. To increase it, over the years different solutions have been proposed, although their usage is difficult to generalize and may be limited depending on the specific application. A promising strategy to further increase the throughput of Two-Photon Lithography, opening a concrete window for its adoption in industry, lies in its combination with holography approaches: in this way it is possible to generate dozens of foci from a single laser beam, thus parallelizing the fabrication of periodic structures, or to engineer the intensity distribution on the writing plane in a complex way, obtaining 3D microstructures with a single exposure. Here, the fundamental concepts behind high-speed Two-Photon Lithography and its combination with holography are discussed, and the literary production of recent years that exploits such techniques is reviewed, and contextualized according to the topic covered. 相似文献

The thermal and structural stability of the Wells-Dawson-type heteropoly compound K6P2W18O62·10H2O was examined by FT-IR spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis and HRTEM. It was found that calcination at temperatures higher than 850 K led to the formation of a Keggin-type compound K3PW12O40, containing small amounts of an additional phase originated from the high-temperature interaction between potassium phosphate (K3PO4 formed during the decomposition of the K6P2W18O62·10H2O) and the Keggin-type compound itself. The Keggin-type product showed a higher activity in the selective oxidative dehydrogenation of isobutane to isobutene compared to both the Wells-Dawson precursor and to pure, authentic K3PW12O40. This higher activity can be tentatively attributed to the presence of an amorphous layer of unknown stoichiometry at the surface of the thermally rearranged Wells-Dawson compound. 相似文献

A micromachined chemoresistive gas sensor was studied from the point of view of heat distribution and thermal dissipation: this innovative device for environmental pollutant gas monitoring, is based on a sensitive film of semiconductor metal oxides, kept in temperature by a platinum resistor. In order to avoid electrical interactions between the film heater and the contacts for the film reading, the heater is driven by a square wave, and the film is read when no voltage is provided. Since the working temperature of the film is extremely important for its operation, it is crucial to maintain the temperature fluctuations within few degrees; to this end, in this work we study the heat distribution and dissipation of such a device, aiming to set a proper heating frequency, which will assure a right stability of the working temperature. 相似文献
