The objective of this study was to assess the impact of some processing parameters on moisture content, flowability, hygroscopicity and water solubility of spray dried acerola pomace extract using maltodextrin and cashew tree gum as drying aids. The experiment was conducted according to Response Surface Methodology, with the independent variables being: inlet temperature (170-200 °C), drying aid/acerola ratio (2:1-5:1), and percent replacement of maltodextrin by cashew tree gum (0-100%). Higher inlet temperatures favored the desired physical properties of the powders, decreasing their moisture contents and hygroscopicity, and increasing flowability. The drying aids decreased the powder hygroscopicity, especially cashew tree gum (CTG), which also enhanced the powder flowability. The best processing conditions to obtain a free-flowing and least hygroscopic acerola pomace extract powder by spray drying were: inlet temperature above 194 °C; drying aid/acerola solid ratio, 4:1; percent replacement of maltodextrin by CTG, at least 80%. 相似文献

This paper presents a mechanism for dynamic reconfiguration of component-based applications and its fault tolerance strategy. The mechanism, named generic connector, allows composing a component-based application as a set of services with no previous knowledge about the specific components that will provide some services. The components will be selected at runtime. The objective of this work is to offer a mechanism that tries to satisfy every invocation under its responsibility and makes failures as transparent as possible. It is an important tool to compose applications through the reuse of existing components because it frees the programmer from the task of searching components in order to use them and, also, from solving some types of failures. 相似文献

An automated multi-material approach that integrates multi-objective Topology Optimization (TO) and multi-objective shape optimization is presented. A new ant colony optimization algorithm is presented and applied to solving the TO problem, estimating a trade-off set of initial topologies or distributions of material. The solutions found usually present irregular boundaries, which are not desirable in applications. Thus, shape parameterization of the internal boundaries of the design region, and subsequent shape optimization, is performed to improve the quality of the estimated Pareto-optimal solutions. The selection of solutions for shape optimization is done by using the PROMETHEE II decision-making method. The parameterization process involves identifying the boundaries of different materials and describing these boundaries by non-uniform rational B-spline curves. The proposed approach is applied to the optimization of a C-core magnetic actuator, with two objectives: the maximization of the attractive force on the armature and the minimization of the volume of permanent magnet material. 相似文献

The early experience of Rockefeller Foundation in Brazil, starting in 1915, reflected the idea of extending learned experience in Southern US to a wide international context. Health education and the creation of permanent local health services were expressed as main guidelines for cooperation with State and federal Brazilian agencies. Translating to the shaping of public health models the terms of scientific hygiene associated with the pastorian revolution, RF pictured different actions as part of a three step rationale of survey, experiment and demonstrations. In this paper we focus on Lewis Hackett's campaign, designed as a demonstration campaign of the "intensive method" of hookworm control, with the final purpose of enlisting local agencies in long-term action (1919-1924) and the malaria campaign in Rio de Janeiro State Lowlands (1922-1928) led initially by Mark Boyd as an "experimental control work" of field observation, campaign, control and maintenance to set guidelines to malaria control in tropical areas. The course and ultimate results of these experiences showed the need to adapt formal models to complex national and State-building context and to disease specificity, leading to pragmatic adaptations in the issue of control and eradication and on the shaping of vertical and horizontal health services. The failure of these two experiences in terms of disease control helped to strengthen the move, predominant in the next two decades, to vertical campaigns with least dependency on local social and political dynamics, as in the exemplar case of Frederick Soper's Anopheles gambiae eradication campaign (1938-1942). 相似文献

This study evaluates the effect of cashew nut meal (CNM), whole cottonseed (WCS), and calcium salts of long‐chain fatty acids (Ca‐LCFA) on the fatty acid profiles of meat from hair lambs. Thirty‐five 60‐d‐old, male, noncastrated Santa Ines lambs with an initial average body weight of 13.00 ± 1.80 kg were used in a randomized complete‐block design with 7 blocks and 5 treatments. The experimental treatments consisted of a control diet (CON) without supplemental lipids and 4 test diets with different lipid supplements that were selected according to the degree of protection from ruminal hydrogenation and their polyunsaturated fatty acid richness. The tests diets included the following modifications: supplementation with WCS, supplementation with CNM, supplementation with both cottonseed and CNM (CSCNM), and supplementation with Ca‐LCFA. The C18:1n9c content was highest in the meat of the animals fed the CNM diet (42.00%). The meat from lambs fed the WCS and Ca‐LCFA diets had higher C18:0 contents (25.23 and 22.80%, respectively). The C16:1 content was higher in the meat from the animals fed the CNM and CON diets (1.54 and 1.49%, respectively). C18:2c9t11 concentration was higher in the meat from the animals fed the Ca‐LCFA and CNM diets. The estimated enzyme activity of Δ9‐desaturase C18 was highest in the muscles of the lambs fed the CON, CNM, and CSCNM diets. The use of cashew nuts in the diet resulted in an increase in the C18:2c9t11 content of the lamb meat, which improved the nutritional characteristics of the fat. 相似文献

Scientific research is increasingly assisted by computer-based experiments. Such experiments are often composed of a vast number of loosely-coupled computational tasks that are specified and automated as scientific workflows. This large scale is also characteristic of the data that flows within such “many-task” computations (MTC). Provenance information can record the behavior of such computational experiments via the lineage of process and data artifacts. However, work to date has focused on lineage data models, leaving unsolved issues of recording and querying other aspects, such as domain-specific information about the experiments, MTC behavior given by resource consumption and failure information, or the impact of environment on performance and accuracy. In this work we contribute with MTCProv, a provenance query framework for many-task scientific computing that captures the runtime execution details of MTC workflow tasks on parallel and distributed systems, in addition to standard prospective and data derivation provenance. To help users query provenance data we provide a high level interface that hides relational query complexities. We evaluate MTCProv using an application in protein science, and describe how important query patterns such as correlations between provenance, runtime data, and scientific parameters are simplified and expressed. 相似文献

Despite the increase in the incidence of cancer, the number of women who survive cancer treatment is growing. However, one of the principal results of chemotherapy is premature ovarian failure (POF). The aim of this study was to use the in situ culture preantral follicles as an in vitro model to evaluate the toxicity of two anticancer drugs, doxorubicin (DXR) and paclitaxel (PTX), on the integrity and development of ovarian follicles. Fragments of the ovarian cortex of goats were cultured in vitro for 1 or 7 days in α‐MEM+ supplemented with different concentrations of DXR (0.003, 0.03, or 0.3 µg/mL) and PTX (0.001, 0.01, or 0.1 µg/mL). Analyses were performed before and after culture to evaluate tissue integrity by classical histology, apoptosis by TUNEL assay, DNA laddering kit and the detection of activated caspase 3, and DNA damage by the immune detection of phosphorylated histone H2A.x (H2AXph139). Both DXR and PTX reduced the number of morphologically normal primordial and developing follicles. Positive staining for TUNEL and active caspase 3 was detected in all the samples (P < 0.05). Therefore, we propose the in situ culture of caprine preantral follicles as a useful experimental model for assessing the toxic effects of the chemotherapeutic agents on ovarian folliculogenesis. In this study, the energy potential of five types of biomass waste from cultures of banana (Musa spp.), cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.), babassu coconut (Orbignya speciosa), mango (Mangifera indica), and several flowers from the central hinterland of Ceará, Brazil was evaluated, to investigate their applicability as potential sources of alternative energy, for example, Briquettes. Many countries have been looking for new types of energy that are sustainable and clean, and biomass energy has been attracted attention in the last years because, is a renewable resource that, can be transformed in gaseous, liquid, and solid fuel. However, there are still many points that need investigation, for example, physicochemical properties and analytical characterization, energy efficiency, and cost. Therefore, the evaluation of the energy potential of biomass derived from a specific region is necessary. The thermal and oxidative behavior of the samples were evaluated by thermogravimetric (TG-DTG) analysis in atmospheres of nitrogen (N2) and synthetic air. For biomass characterization, the following analyses were done: immediate chemical analysis and high calorific value. The results showed that all the samples of biomass residues displayed high calorific values (>11 MJ/kg) and the immediate analysis showed that these residues displayed acceptable reactivities with a high volatile content (>70%). Average percentages were calculated for each parameter, and the following relationships were obtained for the different samples of biomass waste: Moisture (M): Mnitrogen > Mair; Volatile Matter (VM): VMair > VMnitrogen, and Ash Content (AC): ACair > ACnitrogen. The differences in the temperatures and decomposition rates of cellulose and hemicellulose enabled the investigation of the influence of oxidative and inert gas (synthetic air and nitrogen) upon the characteristics of waste decay, as well as inferences regarding the use of the thermogravimetric techniques in the study of the decomposition of different biomasses, for possible application as energy sources, as a quick, effective, and accurate tool. 相似文献
