Digital terrain models can be created by gathering a set of measurements from geometric objects. For various reasons, these models may be incomplete and thus fail to meet the requirements defined by their potential applications. In this work, we develop a novel multiresolution approach to repair the voids commonly found in digital elevation models (DEM). We use the overall shape and structure of the surrounding terrain to build a smooth patch for the void. Then, using a multiresolution approach obtained from reverse Chaikin subdivision, we extract the low-scale characteristics from the surrounding terrain and apply them to the smooth patch. The results demonstrate that our approach is effective in synthesizing models with realistic characteristics. 相似文献

An original technology of zinc diffusion into InP via a narrow gap is described, which allows reproducible formation of p–n junctions with preset depth of doping and retained surface morphology of the doped layers. Using the proposed method, desired charge carrier distribution profiles in Zn-doped InP layers were obtained. We have revealed the formation of a continuous series of orthorhombic LaMn1 ? y FeyO3 solid solutions (0<y<1); La1 ? x SrxFeO3 solid solutions in the composition range 0 < x ≤ 0.8, with an orthorhombic structure at 0 < x ≤ 0.6 and a cubic structure at 0.6 < x ≤ 0.8; and a tetragonal SrMn1 ? y FeyO3 phase in the range 0.6 ≤ y ≤ 1. Recently, feature grouping has been proposed as a method for improving retrieval results for logos and web images. This relies on the idea that a group of features matching over a local region in an image is more discriminative than a single feature match. In this paper, we evolve this concept further and apply it to the more challenging task of landmark recognition. We propose a novel combination of dense sampling of SIFT features with interest regions which represent the more salient parts of the image in greater detail. In place of conventional dense sampling used in category recognition that computes features on a regular grid at a number of fixed scales, we allow the sampling density and scale to vary based on the scale of the interest region. We develop new techniques for exploring stronger geometric constraints inside the feature groups and computing the match score. The spatial information is stored efficiently in an inverted index structure. The proposed approach considers part-based matching of interest regions instead of matching entire images using a histogram under bag-of-words. This helps reducing the influence of background clutter and works better under occlusion. Experiments reveal that directing more attention to the salient regions of the image and applying proposed geometric constraints helps in vastly improving recognition rates for reasonable vocabulary sizes. 相似文献

Interferon production by blood leucocytes was investigated in 26 children with various types of leukemia (acute lymphoblastic, acute myeloblastic and the blastic crisis of chronic myelocytic leukemia). The control group consisted of 6 children with lymphoadenopathy. Interferon synthesis was decreased in most cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The persistent sharp reduction of interferon producing function of leucocytes is a factor of unfavourable prognosis in acute lymphoblastic leukemia of children, being associated with a more severe course of the disease, increased susceptibility to viral infection, and with a higher risk of relapse. In two cases of chronic myelocytic leukemia the level of interferon production was equal to or even higher than in the control group. It is shown that the introduction of torsional ultrasonic oscillations in the deformation source reduces the work of the frictional forces in comparison with the application of radial and longitudinal ultrasound or the absence of ultrasound. The application of torsional ultrasound to the deforming element reduces the contact-friction coefficient by a factor of 20–60, as against a factor of two or less when radial and longitudinal ultrasound is applied to the contact zone.
