This study aims to identify, using an extended Technology-Acceptance Model (TAM), the factors affecting the decision of using a web-based learning system among blue-collar workers in the automotive industry. A structural equation-modeling approach was applied to identify the variables that significantly affect the decision of using the system. Using LISREL 8.54, data collected from 546 blue-collar workers were used to test the proposed research model. Empirical testing of the extended TAM found all paths to be significant in the hypothesized directions, that is, the results of the study strongly support the application of extended TAM in predicting the blue-collar workers’ intention to use a web-based learning system. Among the factors, social influence is a much stronger predictor of user intention compared to others. The study concludes with the implications of this study for managers and recommendations for possible future research.  相似文献

A state space based design method is given to find strongly stabilizing controllers for multiple-input-multiple-output plants (MIMO). A sufficient condition is derived for the existence of suboptimal stable H/sup /spl infin// controller in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) and the controller order is twice that of the plant. Using electronic-reverse auction (e-reverse auction) offers many advantages to companies such as price reduction, decrease in cycle time, standardization, and transparency in purchasing process. Despite its great advantages, some users do not want to use e-reverse auction technology for the procurement of products or services. This study aims to understand factors affecting e-reverse auction usage in companies by integrating three important theories. Key constructs of technology acceptance model (TAM), theory of planned behavior (TPB), and innovation diffusion theory (IDT) are integrated to explain behavioral intention to use and actual use of e-reverse auction. Using LISREL 8.54, data collected from 156 employees working in the procurement department of companies in 40 different countries were used to test the proposed research model. Results indicated that, 76% of employees’ intention to use e-reverse auction is explained by subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and perceived usefulness. Among them, subjective norms have the strongest effect. Besides, actual use of e-reverse auction is directly predicted by behavioral intention to use. We conclude with managerial implications and recommendations for possible future research.  相似文献

With the growing usage of the Internet, the demand for online health care information and advice as well as the number of health‐related Web sites are increasing. In case of online health information and advice, the user interface replaces face‐to‐face communication. To ensure that the users' needs are met, it is critical to balance functionality and usability in the design of the Web site. The present study seeks to identify the complex interrelationships among the various factors of usability and functionality concerning e‐health Web sites. Two Turkish e‐health Web sites were assessed for evaluation in this study. The findings show that the users of the health information Web sites give a higher priority to functionality and its factors, whereby the highest relative importance is on “services/facilities” and “personalization/categorization of information.” The most important usability factors related to the e‐health Web sites are “memorability” and “interaction.” © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The pseudospectrum of a linear time-invariant system is the set in the complex plane consisting of all the roots of the characteristic equation when the system matrices are subjected to all possible perturbations with a given upper bound. The pseudospectral abscissa is defined as the maximum real part of the characteristic roots in the pseudospectrum and, therefore, it is for instance important from a robust stability point of view. In this paper we present an accurate method for the computation of the pseudospectral abscissa of retarded delay differential equations with discrete pointwise delays. Our approach is based on the connections between the pseudospectrum and the level sets of an appropriately defined complex function. The computation is done in two steps. In the prediction step, an approximation of the pseudospectral is obtained based on a rational approximation of the characteristic matrix and the application of a bisection algorithm. Each step in this bisection algorithm relies on checking the presence of the imaginary axis eigenvalues of a complex matrix, similar to the delay free case. In the corrector step, the approximate pseudospectral abscissa is corrected to any given accuracy, by solving a set of nonlinear equations that characterizes the extreme points in the pseudospectrum contours.  相似文献

We present a numerical method to plot the root locus of Single-Input–Single-Output (SISO) dead-time systems with respect to the controller gain or the system delay. We compute the trajectories of characteristic roots of the closed-loop system on a prescribed complex right half-plane. We calculate the starting, branch and boundary crossing roots of root-locus branches inside the region. We compute the root locus of each characteristic root based on a predictor–corrector type continuation method. To avoid the high sensitivity of roots with respect to the locus parameter in the neighborhood of branch points, the continuation method relies on a natural parameterization of the root-locus trajectory in terms of a distance in the (characteristic root, locus parameter)-space. The method is numerically stable for high order SISO dead-time systems.  相似文献

The virtual item auctioning system (VIAS) has economic potential as millions of online players trade their virtual items in an auction‐based environment. However, little empirical research has been conducted about understanding the factors affecting the decision to use the VIAS in online games. To address this gap, the current study uses the technology acceptance model (TAM) to explore the effects of extrinsic motivation‐perceived usefulness, intrinsic motivation‐flow, and trust on the decision to use the VIAS in online games. Three hundred and twenty‐eight surveys were gathered from the users of VIAS in online games. The research model was tested with the structural equation modeling technique, using AMOS 20. The results showed that intrinsic motivation is more important than extrinsic motivation in explaining the use of the VIAS. Furthermore, trust is a strong predictor of both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. We conclude the study with the discussion of the findings, managerial implications, and suggestions for future research. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献
