The purpose of this research is an experimental study of Calophyllum inophyllum (CI)-based trymethylolpropane (TMP) ester as an energy-saving and biodegradable lubricant and compare it with commercial lubricant and paraffin mineral oil using a four-ball tribometer. CI-based TMP ester is a renewable lubricant that is nonedible, biodegradable, and nontoxic and has net zero greenhouse gases. The TMP ester was produced from CI oil, which has high lubricity properties such as higher density, higher viscosity at both 40°C and 100°C and higher viscosity index (VI). Experiments were conducted during 3,600 s with constant load of 40 kg and constant sliding speed of 1,200 rpm at temperatures of 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100°C for all three types of lubricant. The results show that CI TMP ester had the lowest coefficient of friction (COF) as well as lower consumption of energy at all test temperatures, but the worn surface roughness average (Ra) and wear scar diameter were higher compared to paraffin mineral oil and commercial lubricant. Before 80°C, CI TMP ester actually has a higher flash temperature parameter (FTP) than paraffin mineral oil and as the temperature increases, the FTP of TMP ester decreases. The worn surfaces of the stationary balls were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and results show that CI TMP ester has the highest wear compared to paraffin mineral oil and lowest wear compared to commercial lubricant. However, CI TMP ester is environmentally desired, competitive to commercial lubricant, and its use should be encouraged.  相似文献

Drawn fibers of polypropylene have been shown to undergo spontaneous stiffening during storage for several weeks at room temperature after being quenched from higher temperatures below the melting region. The effect occurs in both drawn and undrawn fibers and does not depend on the details of heat treatment prior to the quench. Stress relaxation and density data are in quantitative agreement with an explanation in terms of a gradual collapse of free volume during storage. The effect appears to be identical to “physical aging” previously observed in isotropic molded samples of polypropylene.  相似文献

Newly designed series of indole-containing pyrazole analogs, pyrazolinylindoles, were synthesized, and their structures were confirmed based on the spectral data of the 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and HR-MS analyses. Preliminary anti-cancer activity testings were carried out by the National Cancer Institute, United States of America (NCI, USA). Compounds HD02, HD05, and HD12 demonstrated remarkable cytotoxic activities against nine categories of cancer types based cell line panels which included leukemia, colon, breast, melanoma, lungs, renal, prostate, CNS, and ovarian cancer cell lines. The highest cytotoxic effects were exhibited by the compounds HD02 [1-(5-(1-H-indol-3-yl)-3-(p-tolyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-2-phenylethanone], HD05 [1-(3-(4-chlorophenyl)-5-(1H-indol-3-yl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-2-phenoxyethanone], and HD12 [(3-(4-chlorophenyl)-5-(1H-indol-3-yl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)(pyridin-4-yl)methanone] against some of the 56 types of NCI-based cell lines in different panels. Compound HD05 showed the maximum range of cancer cell growth inhibitions against all categories of the cell lines in all nine panels. On average, in comparison to the referral standard, imatinib, at a dose level of 10 µM, the HD05 showed significant activity against leukemia in the range of 78.76%, as compared to the imatinib at 9% of cancer cells’ growth inhibitions. Molecular docking simulation studies were performed in silico on the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase, in order to validate the activity.  相似文献

Over the last two decades, increasing the scanning speed of an atomic force microscopy (AFM) has been attempted either by applying novel controllers, using alternative scanning methods, or by modifying the hardware setup. This paper demonstrates, the first two approaches to achieve high‐speed AFM image scanning. A robust minimax linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) controller is designed and spiral scanning is considered as an alternative scanning method rather than conventional raster scanning. The minimax LQG controller is designed based on an uncertain system model which is constructed by measuring the plant variations due to variations in sample mass and also modeling error between the measured and model frequency responses. This controller is also robust against uncertainties introduced as a result of variations of sample mass, spillover dynamics of the scanner at frequencies higher than the first resonance frequency of the scanner, and variation in plant transfer functions due to temperature and humidity. The designed controller is experimentally implemented on an AFM using a dSPACE ds‐1103 real‐time prototyping system and open‐loop and closed‐loop spiral imaging performances are evaluated. The proposed controller provides sufficient damping at the resonant modes to accurately track the sinusoidal reference signal and generate vibration free images. Also, creep, hysteresis, and cross‐coupling effects are significantly reduced. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the open‐loop case and some other existing approaches.  相似文献

System reliability assessment is one of the major acts in the operation and maintenance of every industrial and service sector, which also holds true for maritime transportation system. The complexity of the maritime transportation system is a prime obstacle in the evaluation of the operational reliability of the system; mainly due to the fact that statistical data on the important parameters and variables is scarce. This makes the application of fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic a viable option to overcome the data problem with regards to imprecision or vagueness in parameters and variables values. In this paper, the different decisive factors, affecting maritime transportation systems, are modeled in the form of linguistic variables. Techniques such as aggregation, mapping of fuzzy sets using distance measure and fuzzy logic rule base are used to arrive at subjective operational reliability value. The complete procedure is demonstrated with an example.  相似文献

This paper describes a methodology capable of directly evaluating the ratchetting limits in cracked bodies, subjected to cyclic loads and temperatures, for an elastic-perfectly plastic material. The foundation behind the adopted numerical procedures, the Linear Matching Method (LMM), is described. This is then followed by the application of the method to the cracked Bree problem, under variations in cyclic loading histories and structural geometries. The results from the ensuing analyses revealed the method’s ability in coping with the effect of the elastic singularity at the crack tip. The applicability of such procedures is further examined, with additional solutions to an industrial problem considered in R5 the design and life assessment procedures used by British Energy in the UK.  相似文献
