GAIA is a recently developed IBM POWER6 supercomputer consisting of 24 SMP compute nodes with 64-way processors each, and it is currently ranked 393 on the Top500 supercomputer list published in November 2009. In this paper, we present the performance characteristics of GAIA evaluated by interconnecting the 24 computing nodes with low-latency InfiniBand network. We evaluate the performance of the new dual-core Power 595 system in terms of increased problem size using the multi-zone versions of the NAS Parallel Benchmarks.  相似文献

A simple protocol has been developed for the creation of the biomimetic hybrid materials, calcium carbonate, and hydroxyapatite, by in situ growth and mineralization in newly developed nontoxic hydrogel templates. A series of poly(ethylene oxide phosphonamidate) hydrogels with different network structures were synthesized by reacting various poly(ethylene glycol)s with phosphorous oxychloride and diamines in a one-pot protocol, which exhibits promising advantages including a short reaction time, an easy separation, and a high yield with a mass producible feasibility. The hydrogels were proven to be nontoxic according to an in vitro viability assay using human embryonic kidney 293T cells. Careful control of growth and mineralization conditions such as ions transport rate, pH, type of hydrogel, and mineralization temperature resulted in a variety of calcium carbonate and hydroxylapatite architectures including nanorods, nanowires, and well-defined hybrid structures. The resulting materials were analyzed by infrared spectroscopy, electron microscopes, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray powder diffraction.  相似文献

Organic alkyl and aryl phosphites are effective antioxidants and photostabilizers with applications in a wide range of polymers. The primary role of phosphites is to decompose hydroperoxide. However, aryl phosphites are also capable of reacting as antioxidants by affecting the kinetics. In particular, oligomer‐type phosphites have a greater effect on polymer degradation because of their high compatibility, reactivity, and solubility with almost all polymers. Generally, phosphites are sensitive to hydrolysis. In order to overcome this hydrolytic sensitivity in phosphites, a novel hydrolytically stable oligomeric phosphite incorporating a sterically hindered aromatic alcohol (2,4‐di‐tert‐butyl‐6‐methylphenol) that gives hydrolytic stability to the phosphite was synthesized and characterized, and its performance as an antioxidant for polypropylene was investigated. We report the synthesis and characterization of new series of the fluorene based polymers with carbazole and oxadiazole pendants for the generation of the white emission out of the EL device. In the fluorene backbone, hole transporting units such as carbazole or phenothiazine were incorporated to improve the EL brightness and efficiency. The PFCzOxd-co-PCzs and PFCzOxd-co-PPTZs in EL spectra showed maximum peaks at around 430 nm and additional large peaks at around 530 and 500 nm, respectively. In case of PFCzOxd-alt-PCz and PFCzCzPCz-co-PFOxdOxdPCz, the EL spectra of the polymers showed two distinct peaks comprising the maximum at 427 nm, which corresponds to the EL spectra of the conjugated backbone, and additional broad peaks at around 540 and 530 nm, respectively. The CIE coordinates of the devices from PFCzOxd-alt-PCz and PFCzCzPCz-co-PFOxdOxdPCz were (0.28, 0.33) and (0.25, 0.32), respectively, approaching the value of the standard white of National Television System Committee (NTSC) (0.33, 0.33).  相似文献

Two types of degradable poly(propylene glycol) (PPG) hydrogels that are suitable for the absorption of heavy metals have been presented. The PPG‐O‐P(O)Cl2 fragments obtained by treating hexafunctional PPG with phosphorous oxychloride (POCl3) react with 1,3‐propanediamine (PDA; Gel‐1 ) or PDA together with 1,2‐ethanedithiol ( Gel‐2 ), to yield cross‐linked and water‐swellable hydrogels in a one‐pot method. This protocol for the fabrication of PPG hydrogels exhibits promising advantages over prior methods including a short reaction time, mass‐production, easy separation, and high yield. A series of heavy metal ions were employed to test the adsorptive properties of the hydrogels. Gel‐2 shows better adsorption capacity than Gel‐1 for all the metal ions and the metal ions adsorption efficiency of the two types of hydrogels is in the order of Fe(III) > Pb(II) > Cd(II) > Zn(II) > Cu(II) > Ni(II) > Co(II) > Hg(II). The amounts of metal ions adsorbed increases with metal ion concentration and hydrogel dosage, but decreases with temperature. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Utilization of 2,2-dimethyl-2H-benzimidazole has received strong attention as the electron-deficient unit for the generation of electron donor material for organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs). This paper reports the first small organic molecules based on dimethyl-2H-benzimidazole, which can produce intramolecular charge transfer. Two soluble small organic molecules, MMM and OMO, with dimethyl-2H-benzimidazole unit were synthesized by Suzuki coupling reaction with Pd(0)-catalyst. The spectra of MMM and OMO in the solid thin films show absorption bands with maximum peaks at 374, 598 and 373, 588 nm, and the absorption onsets at 678 and 673 nm, corresponding to band gaps of 1.83 and 1.84 eV, respectively. The devices comprising MMM with PC61BM (1:3) showed a VOC of 0.66 V, a JSC of 2.03 mA/cm2, and a fill factor (FF) of 0.27, giving a power-conversion efficiency of 0.37%.  相似文献

Particle size distribution and particle number concentration from diesel engines are subjects of significant environmental concerns especially in the EU. A few years ago, the UN-ECE PMP proposed a method for measuring particle emissions in the diluted exhaust of internal combustion engine vehicles, which has become a key method used in new dilution systems and sampling condition. This paper describes the effects of parameters such as condensation particle counter (CPC) according to test procedures, test fuel and vehicle test mode, including NEDC and CVS-75 mode. The main results obtained from this study can be summarized as follows: (1) Periodic calibration of the CPC system is essential because the long-term usage of a CPC leads to an underestimation in the measurements of small particles. (2) Particle emissions measured by the UN-ECE PMP method were found to exhibit comparable repeatability as compared to other regulated emissions. (3) In particle number concentration emitted from different-fueled vehicles, the sources of particle emissions in an ascending order of magnitude are as follows: DPF equipped diesel passenger vehicles, gasoline and LPG fueled vehicles, and DPF unequipped diesel passenger vehicles. Also, we found that the particle numbers of DPF equipped diesel passenger vehicles, gasoline and LPG-fueled vehicles can meet the EU regulation limit (<6.0×1011#/km), while DPF unequipped diesel passenger vehicles do not meet the EU limit.  相似文献

Korea Domestic Agency (KODA) is developing a nuclear fusion fuel storage and delivery system (SDS) as one of the Korean procurement packages. Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) is operating the following basic scientific research laboratories for an SDS and tritium supply study: a metal hydride bed preparation laboratory, hydrogen isotope recovery and delivery performance test rig, in-bed calorimetry performance test rig, and tritium shipping container integrity test facility. Furthermore, the development of a test blanket module (TBM) is required to test and validate the design concept of tritium breeding blankets relevant to fusion power plants. KAERI is also operating the following laboratories for the TBM research, such as a tritium extraction performance test rig, High-flux Advanced Neutron Application Reactor (HANARO), and Experimental Loop for Liquid Breeder (ELLI).  相似文献
