During the process of writing a comprehensive dictionary ofFinnish dialects, a large set of maps describing the regionaldistribution of the dialect words have been compiled in electronicform. In this article, we set out to analyse this corpus ofdata in order to gain new insight on the variation of Finnishdialects. We use a wide range of multivariate data analysismethods, including principal components analysis, independentcomponents analysis, clustering, and multidimensional scaling.We explain how to preprocess the data to overcome the problemof uneven sampling caused by the way the data has been collected.We discuss the results obtained by these methods and comparethem to the traditional view of Finnish dialect groups.  相似文献

We demonstrate that narrow-band tuned circuits may be used for ESD protection of RF inputs, and a figure of merit for optimization of these circuits is presented. The performance of the ESD-protected RF circuit is dependent on the quality factor of the ESD device, and various protection devices are evaluated in this work. Record-breaking human body model (HBM) protection levels, exceeding 5 kV, have been achieved without significantly degrading the RF performance at 5 GHz. The quality of XLPE insulation of power cables has improved markedly in recent years, and insulation failures caused by contamination have diminished. As a result, focus has shifted on the effects of insulation morphology. There are concerns about the weld lines regarding the anisotropy and frozen-in mechanical stress. The weld line that is formed has different properties than the matrix and the region is considered to be a mechanically weak point. In a recent study, seams were observed in the XLPE insulation of power cable. Their type and intensity vary because of the melt temperature and homogeneity in the extrusion. The mass distribution also has a certain influence. Typically, the seams are quite harmless for the dielectric properties of the insulation. Occasionally, severe weld lines may be considered as possible weak regions in the insulation construction. By performing electrical needle tests on four cable samples, it was found that the weld line containing sector of the cable is measurably weaker than the insulation in general. The rotating mass distributor, or more specifically, the conical extrusion was able to modify, level out and reduce seam effect. While there is no guarantee that the extrusion will have high insulation quality, it is possible to reduce the seams. The traditional extrusion process, however, should be considered as a less robust solution than the rotating mass distributor with respect to the seams.  相似文献

The purpose of HV after-laying tests on cable systems on-site is to check the quality of installation. The test on extruded MV cable systems is usually a voltage test. However, in order to enhance the quality of after installation many researchers have proposed performance of diagnosis tests such as detection, location and identification of partial discharges (PD) and tan /spl delta/ measurements. Damped AC voltage (DAC) also called oscillating voltage waves (OVW) is used for PD measurement in after-laying tests of new cables and in diagnostic test of old cables. Continuous AC voltage of very low frequency (VLF) is used for withstand voltage tests as well as for diagnostic tests with PD and tan /spl delta/ measurements. Review on the DAC and VLF tests to detect defects during on-site after-laying tests of extruded MV cable systems is presented. Selectivity of DAC and VLF voltages in after-laying testing depends on different test parameters. PD process depends on type and frequency of the test voltage and hence, the breakdown voltage is different. The withstand voltage of XLPE cable insulation decreases linearly with increasing frequency in log scale. Experimental studies with artificial XLPE cable model indicate that detection of defects with DAC or VLF voltage can be done at a lower voltage than with DC. DAC voltage is sensitive in detecting defects that cause a breakdown due to void discharge, while VLF is sensitive in detecting defects that cause breakdown directly led by inception of electrical trees.  相似文献

A Compact, ESD-Protected, SiGe BiCMOS LNA for Ultra-Wideband Applications   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Two 3.65-mW, ESD-protected, BiCMOS ultra-wideband low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) for operation up to 10 GHz are presented. These common-base LNAs achieve significant savings in die area over more widely used cascoded common-emitter LNAs because they do not use an LC input matching network. A design with a shunt peaked load achieves a high S21 (17-19 dB) and low noise figure (NF) (4-5 dB) across the band. A resistively loaded design exhibits a lower S21 (15-16 dB) and higher NF (4.5-6 dB), but also utilizes 20% less silicon area. Both LNAs achieve a 1.5 kV ESD protection level and an acceptable S11 (<-10 dB) across the band. Current source noise reduction is critical in common base topologies. We present a modified transmission-line pulse (TLP) measurement system in which radio frequency (RF) functionality tests, along with the conventional leakage current measurement, are performed after each pulse to detect failure. Measurement results from 5-GHz low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) show that RF metrics degrade before the leakage current increases. Also, we introduce an electrostatic discharge (ESD)-protected RF circuit for which leakage current measurements cannot be made, necessitating the use of other failure criteria.  相似文献

A technique to provide ESD protection for multi-GHz R-F inputs is presented. It provides protection against both human body model (HBM) and charged device model (CDM) type events with minimal effect on RE performance. A 5.25 GHz LNA protected by this means has a measured HBM ESD protection level of 3.6 kV.  相似文献

Colloidal quantum dot‐based hybrid light‐emitting diodes (QLEDs) have been demonstrated that exhibit quantum efficiencies (EQEs) >10% for all three fundamental colors red, green, and blue (21% EQE, 82 cd/A for green). This is the first report of a green QLED with EQE >20% and current efficiency >80 cd/A. The devices have the longest lifetimes reported in the literature (280k hrs) and extremely well‐tuned color fidelity. The narrow QLED emission spectra (full width at half maximum < 30 nm) and well‐controlled peak wavelengths generate a color gamut covering >170% of the National Television System Committee (NTSC) 1987 color space and ~90% of the Rec. 2020 color space. This color gamut is larger than that of OLED televisions in mass production and is the largest of all QLEDs reported. Additionally, these devices are completely fabricated using solution‐processing techniques. The extremely desirable properties of high efficiency, color tunability/fidelity, long lifetime, and low cost processing from solutions make QLED technology disruptive and will lead to next generation displays.  相似文献

Water treeing is one of the factors leading to failure of medium voltage XLPE cables in long-term service. Increased moisture content inside oil-paper insulated cable is not desirable. To identify water tree degraded XLPE cables or oil-paper cables with high moisture content, diagnostic tests based on dielectric response (DR) measurement in time and frequency domain are used. Review of individual DR measurement techniques in the time and frequency domains indicates that measurement of one parameter in either domain may not be sufficient to reveal the status of the cable insulation. But a combination of several DR parameters can improve diagnostic results with respect to water trees present in XLPE cables or increased moisture content in oil-paper cables. DR measurement is a very useful tool that reveals average condition of cable systems. However, it is unlikely that DR measurement will detect few, but long water trees. In addition, DR cannot locate the defect or water tree site within the cable system. Combination of DR and partial discharge (PD) measurements can improve diagnostic results with respect to global and local defects. However, it is doubtful whether PD test can identify the presence of water trees inside a cable in a nondestructive manner. Further research is needed for more detailed conclusions regarding the status of a particular insulation and for predicting the remaining life of the insulation system.  相似文献

High‐quality violet‐blue emitting ZnxCd1‐xS/ZnS core/shell quantum dots (QDs) are synthesized by a new method, called “nucleation at low temperature/shell growth at high temperature”. The resulting nearly monodisperse ZnxCd1‐xS/ZnS core/shell QDs have high PL quantum yield (near to 100%), high color purity (FWHM) <25 nm), good color tunability in the violet‐blue optical window from 400 to 470 nm, and good chemical/photochemical stability. More importantly, the new well‐established protocols are easy to apply to large‐scale synthesis; around 37 g ZnxCd1‐xS/ZnS core/shell QDs can be easily synthesized in one batch reaction. Highly efficient deep‐blue quantum dot‐based light‐emitting diodes (QD‐LEDs) are demonstrated by employing the ZnxCd1‐xS/ZnS core/shell QDs as emitters. The bright and efficient QD‐LEDs show a maximum luminance up to 4100 cd m?2, and peak external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 3.8%, corresponding to 1.13 cd A?1 in luminous efficiency. Such high value of the peak EQE can be comparable with OLED technology. These results signify a remarkable progress, not only in the synthesis of high‐quality QDs but also in QD‐LEDs that offer a practicle platform for the realization of QD‐based violet‐blue display and lighting.  相似文献
