AIM: To study hematological and biochemical profiles in acute leukemic patients before and after chemotherapy. METHODS: Sera from 20 normal persons were compared with those from 40 patients of whom 20 patients were followed up after 6-8 months of treatment with cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and prednisolone. RESULTS: Hemoglobin, hematocrit and platelet count were decreased while reticulocyte count, blood sedimentation, total leukocyte count, bleeding time, bilirubin, blood coagulation time, alanine aminotransferase, lactate dehydrogenase, creatinine, and urea were increased in acute myelocytic patients compared to normal. A similar pattern was observed in acute lymphocytic patients except there was no significant increase in serum urea. CONCLUSION: In acute leukemic patients blood chemistry and hematology are useful during diagnosis and treatment. After 6-8 months of treatment 50% remission occurred.  相似文献

Flying Ad-hoc Network (FANET) is a new class of Mobile Ad-hoc Network in which the nodes move in three-dimensional (3-D) ways in the air simultaneously. These nodes are known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) that are operated live remotely or by the pre-defined mechanism which involves no human personnel. Due to the high mobility of nodes and dynamic topology, link stability is a research challenge in FANET. From this viewpoint, recent research has focused on link stability with the highest threshold value by maximizing Packet Delivery Ratio and minimizing End-to-End Delay. In this paper, a hybrid scheme named Delay and Link Stability Aware (DLSA) routing scheme has been proposed with the contrast of Distributed Priority Tree-based Routing and Link Stability Estimation-based Routing FANET’s existing routing schemes. Unlike existing schemes, the proposed scheme possesses the features of collaborative data forwarding and link stability. The simulation results have shown the improved performance of the proposed DLSA routing protocol in contrast to the selected existing ones DPTR and LEPR in terms of E2ED, PDR, Network Lifetime, and Transmission Loss. The Average E2ED in milliseconds of DLSA was measured 0.457 while DPTR was 1.492 and LEPR was 1.006. Similarly, the Average PDR in %age of DLSA measured 3.106 while DPTR was 2.303 and LEPR was 0.682. The average Network Lifetime of DLSA measured 62.141 while DPTR was 23.026 and LEPR was 27.298. At finally, the Average Transmission Loss in dBm of DLSA measured 0.975 while DPTR was 1.053 and LEPR was 1.227.

This research work reports on development and characterization of multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)-doped polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) nanofibers by the electrospinning method. PVDF is an extensively studied polymer both theoretically and experimentally due to its appealing ferroelectric, piezoelectric, and pyroelectric properties which strongly favors its promising applications in the development of micro/nanostructure devices. The foremost reason for its ferroelectric and piezoelectric behaviors has been attributed to its crystalline structure, specifically the presence of β-phase; however, the existence of the small percentage of β-phase in pristine PVDF limits its applications. To enhance the electroactive features in the PVDF, MWCNTs have been doped in it to prepare electrospun nanofibers, as electrospinning is a single-step approach. These nonwoven nanofibers were prepared at a DC voltage of 20 kV which were subsequently calcined at 100 °C for 12 h. The estimation of crystal structure and phase identification in these nanofibers have been determined by attenuated FT-IR and XRD, while the morphology, microstructure, mean diameter, and length have been examined by FE-SEM. The observed electrical conductivity, capacitance, permittivity (ε), conductivity (δ), and impedance (Z) in these samples have been tailored by doping a range of MWCNT contents and optimizing the experimental conditions.  相似文献

Production of hydrogen fuel from water splitting driven by solar energy is an effective technique to overcome the energy crisis and environmental problems in coming decades. To explore low cost and efficient photocatalysts is highly desired. In this work, we study the electronic, optical and photocatalytic properties of MoSSe/BSe (Model-1 and Model-2) vdW heterostructures by PBE and HSE06 functionals using first-principle calculations. The stabilities of these heterostructures are confirmed through phonon spectra and ab initio molecular dynamic simulations. The Model-1 and Model-2 heterostructures have indirect band gaps of 1.95 and 1.54 eV respectively by HSE06 hybrid functional. Interestingly, the transition from indirect to direct band gap occurs in Model-1 after including spin-orbit coupling effect. Remarkably, the high carrier mobilities are quantitatively explored by means of deformation potential theory. Furthermore, the transition from type-I to type-II band alignment happens at compressive strain in both Model-1 and Model-2, which effectively slows down the recombination of electron-hole pairs. Compared to the isolated monolayers, the MoSSe/BSe (Model-1 and Model-2) heterostructures harvest maximum portion of visible spectrum, revealing the outstanding paybacks of high efficiency utilization of solar spectrum. Most intriguingly, the band edges of MoSSe/BSe vdW heterostructures meet the redox potential requirements for water splitting. Our results will be valuable for easing the investigation and applications of MoSSe/BSe heterostructures for optoelectronics and photocatalytic water splitting.  相似文献

The proximate composition, mineral constituents and amino acid profile of four important legumes (chickpea, lentil, cowpea and green pea) were studied in order to evaluate their nutritional performance. Significant (P < 0.05) variations existed among the legumes with respect to their proximate composition, mineral constituent and amino acid profile. Lentil was found to be a good source of protein, while cowpea was good in ash among the grain legumes tested. All four types of legumes were also better suppliers of mineral matter, particularly potassium, phosphorus, calcium, copper, iron, and zinc. However, the concentrations of various mineral constituents was not in good nutritional balance. It was concluded that the four legumes tested were rich in lysine, leucine and arginine and can fulfil the essential amino acid requirement of human diet except for S-containing amino acids and tryptophan. In order to make good, the deficiency of certain essential amino acids in legume protein, they must be supplemented with other vegetables, meat and dairy products (e.g., Whey, yogurt).  相似文献
