Effect of phosphorus content on the physicochemical and catalytic properties of pentasils in the ethylbenzene disproportionation reaction

The physicochemical and catalytic properties of phosphorus-promoted H-ultrasils were examined in the disproportionation of ethylbenzene. It was shown that the chemical modification of H-ultrasil with ammonium hydrogen phosphate leads to the redistribution of acid sites and a decrease in the sorption capacity of the zeolite. As a result, the ratio between Lewis and Brönsted acid sites in the zeolite increases in a more pronounced manner and zeolite channels narrow, thereby enhancing the paraselectivity for isomers.     

Possible mechanisms of charge separation during exiton decay in the polymer matrices of third-generation solar cells

An important stage in the functioning of third-generation solar cells based on polymers is considered: the dissociation of exitons generated by solar light and the separation of the resulting electrons and holes. Various molecular mechanisms for the formation of free charge carriers are studied by means of quantum mechanics and statistical physics. Some processes are associated with polymer matrices; others with systems typical of ideal neat matrices.     

Nutrition and the incidence of ischemic heart disease and risk factor for its occurrence among men 20-59 years of age depending on their ethnic group affiliation

The epidemiological investigation of males aged 20-59 years, conducted in Frunze, has shown a rather high incidence rate of coronary heart disease (CHD) and its risk factors among them, the nutrition being related with the incidence of CHD and its risk factors. The character of nutrition is distinctly associated with differences in the incidence of hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia among the indigenous and nonindigenous population.     

Heat-capacity anomaly in a wide vicinity of the critical point of the triethylamine—water phase transition

The behavior of the isobaric heat capacity in the triethylamine—water binary system has been investigated experimentally by the adiabatic calorimetry method. Theoretical conformational analysis of cardioactive peptides. II. Nonapeptide Met1-Asn2-Tyr3-Leu4-Ala5-Phe6-Pro7-Arg8-Met9-NH 2

Theoretical conformational analysis was carried out for the cardioactive nonapeptide Met1-Met9-NH2. Calculations yielded the values of all dihedral angles of the back bone and side chains of the nonapeptide various forms as well as intra- and interresidue interaction energies.
