Successful separation of triglycerides, diglycerides, free fatty acids, carotenes, tocopherol, and tocotrienols from crude
palm oil has been achieved by supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) with a combination of a C18 and a silica gel column.
The separation was carried out by the programmed extraction elution method. Free fatty acids were separated into five components
by gas-liquid chromatography; tocopherol and tocotrienols were also separated into four components by SFC analysis, and the
pure fractionated carotenes were obtained by preparative SFC. Thus, by using supercritical fluid chromatography, crude palm

Hotelling's T2 chart is a popular tool for monitoring statistical process control. However, this chart is sensitive in the presence of outliers. To alleviate the problem, this paper proposed alternative Hotelling's T2 charts for individual observations using robust location and scale matrix instead of the usual mean vector and the covariance matrix, respectively. The usual mean vector in the Hotelling T2 chart is replaced by the winsorized modified one‐step M‐estimator (MOM) whereas the usual covariance matrix is replaced by the winsorized covariance matrix. MOM empirically trims the data based on the shape of the data distribution. This study also investigated on the different trimming criteria used in MOM. Two robust scale estimators with highest breakdown point, namely Sn and Tn were selected to suit the criteria. The upper control limits for the proposed robust charts were calculated based on simulated data. The performance of each control chart is based on the false alarm and the probability of outlier's detection. In general, the performance of an alternative robust Hotelling's T2 charts is better than the performance of the traditional Hotelling's T2 chart. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

The stability of nano-zirconia 3YSZ powder in suspension was extensively studied by the colloidal method, and the optimum sintering temperature of the green sample fabricated through slip casting was determined. Zirconia suspensions with 10 vol% powder loading were prepared with distilled water, and HNO3 was used to adjust the pH of the suspension to pH 1–6. All of the suspensions were subjected to sedimentation test, and the results showed that the suspensions adjusted to pH 2 had the lowest sediment volume. This finding indicates that a suspension with pH 2 produces higher packing density. Viscosity test was carried out for the suspensions added with dispersant ranging from 0.3 wt% to 0.7 wt% polyethyleneimine (PEI) with and without pH adjustment. The suspension containing 0.5 wt% PEI with pH 2 adjustment produced the lowest viscosity because of interparticle bond breakage in the aggregates, thus forming colloidally stable suspensions. The zirconia suspension containing 0.5 wt% PEI and whose pH was adjusted to pH 2 was chosen to be slip casted into cylindrical shape. Green samples were sintered at various sintering temperatures that ranged from 1100 °C to 1500 °C through a two-step sintering method. The sample sintered at 1500 °C was found to be porosite-free, and its highest relative density was 99.6% of the theoretical density. Morphological studies detected pores in the microstructure of the samples sintered at low sintering temperatures (1100 and 1200 °C). By contrast, the samples sintered at 1400 and 1500 °C were fully densified. However, the grain size of the sample sintered at 1500 °C was 230 nm, which indicated excessive grain growth. The Vickers hardness of the sample sintered at 1400 °C was found to be highest (12.9 GPa) and comparable to results found in the literature. 相似文献

The effect of organic salt, tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate (TBAPF6) doping on the performance of single layer bulk heterojunction organic solar cell with ITO/MEHPPV:PCBM/Al structure was investigated where indium tin oxide (ITO) was used as anode, poly[2-methoxy-5-(2-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene] (MEHPPV) as donor, (6,6)-phenyl-C61 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) as acceptor and aluminium (Al) as cathode. In contrast to the undoped device, the electric field-treated device doped with TBAPF6 exhibited better solar cell performance under illumination with a halogen projector lamp at 100 mW/cm2. The short circuit current density and the open circuit voltage of the doped device increased from 0.54 μA/cm2 to 6.41 μA/cm2 and from 0.24 V to 0.50 V, respectively as compared to those of the undoped device. The significant improvement was attributed to the increase of built-in electric field caused by accumulation of ionic species at the active layer/electrode interfaces. 相似文献

This paper presents a developed geometric approach for deriving the typologies and geometries of discontinuous double-shell
domes in Islamic architecture. Common geometric attributes are created using a corpus of twenty one domes that were built
in the Middle East and Central Asia, beginning from the early through to the late Islamic periods. An outline of the origin
and development of the discontinuous double-shell domes and their morphological features are addressed. Using the al-Kashi
geometrical essences, a four-centered profile as an initial shape is constructed based on new geometric parameters to deduce
the geometric commonalities of the two aspects of formal language (typologies and geometries) of such domes. Common geometric
prototypes for typical profiles shared by the study cases are generated and formulated according to a proposed system. The
theoretical frame work for the formal language of discontinuous double-shell dome architecture is structured to indicate a
moderate development of this sort of Islamic domes and highlight the specific geometric relationship between the Islamic domical
configurations and practical mathematic rules for many decades. It can also be established a basic approach for considering
the geometric compositional designs and the typological derivations of the other eastern domes. 相似文献

Both α- and β-thalassaemia syndromes are public health problems in the multi-ethnic population of Malaysia. To molecularly characterise the α- and β-thalassaemia deletions and mutations among Malays from Penang, Gap-PCR and multiplexed amplification refractory mutation systems were used to study 13 α-thalassaemia determinants and 20 β-thalassaemia mutations in 28 and 40 unrelated Malays, respectively. Four α-thalassaemia deletions and mutations were demonstrated. −−SEA deletion and αCSα accounted for more than 70% of the α-thalassaemia alleles. Out of the 20 β-thalassaemia alleles studied, nine different β-thalassaemia mutations were identified of which βE accounted for more than 40%. We concluded that the highest prevalence of (α- and β-thalassaemia alleles in the Malays from Penang are −−SEA deletion and βE mutation, respectively. 相似文献

The exact contribution of this paper is a review of existing state‐of‐the‐art routing strategies for optical burst switched networks developed by researchers to deal with burst contention before it happens. Routing schemes are implemented in space domain, which make them simple and cost effective. Additionally, the paper points out the importance of routing as an effective way to deal with burst contention compared to other solutions. It also underlines the main differences between contention avoidance schemes and contention resolution techniques for optical burst switched networks. We believe that this review will help different optical burst switched researchers involved in the development of route optimization algorithms to control burst contention. Controlled release formulation of an herbicide, 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate (24D) was developed by the virtue of the formation of organic–inorganic nanohybrid material and its ion exchange property. The inorganic Zn–Al layered double hydroxide (ZAL) was used as a matrix, hosting an active agent or a guest, 24D by self-assembly technique. The resulting material (ZAD) was subsequently used to study the release property of 24D into aqueous solutions containing chloride, carbonate as well as distilled water. The release of the guest 24D was found to be rapid initially followed by a more sustained release thereafter and this behavior was dependent on the type of anions and their concentrations in the release medium, the aqueous solution. The mechanism of release has been interpreted on the basis of the ion exchange process between the 24D anion intercalated into the interlamellae host and carbonate or chloride and/or hydroxyl anions in the aqueous solution. 相似文献

Metallo-β-lactamases (MBLs) are class B β-lactamases from the metallo-hydrolase-like MBL-fold superfamily which act on a broad range of β-lactam antibiotics. A previous study on BLEG-1 (formerly called Bleg1_2437), a hypothetical protein from Bacillus lehensis G1, revealed sequence similarity and activity to B3 subclass MBLs, despite its evolutionary divergence from these enzymes. Its relatedness to glyoxalase II (GLXII) raises the possibility of its enzymatic promiscuity and unique structural features compared to other MBLs and GLXIIs. This present study highlights that BLEG-1 possessed both MBL and GLXII activities with similar catalytic efficiencies. Its crystal structure revealed highly similar active site configuration to YcbL and GloB GLXIIs from Salmonella enterica, and L1 B3 MBL from Stenotrophomonas maltophilia. However, different from GLXIIs, BLEG-1 has an insertion of an active-site loop, forming a binding cavity similar to B3 MBL at the N-terminal region. We propose that BLEG-1 could possibly have evolved from GLXII and adopted MBL activity through this insertion. 相似文献
