The removal of As(V), one of the most poisonous groundwater pollutants, by synthetic nanoscale zero-valent iron (NZVI) was studied. Batch experiments were performed to investigate the influence of pH, adsorption kinetics, sorption mechanism, and anionic effects. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and Mossbauer spectroscopy were used to characterize the particle size, surface morphology, and corrosion layer formation on pristine NZVI and As(V)-treated NZVI. The HR-TEM study of pristine NZVI showed a core-shell-like structure, where more than 90% of the nanoparticles were under 30 nm in diameter. M?ssbauer spectroscopy further confirmed its structure in which 19% were in zero-valent state with a coat of 81% iron oxides. The XRD results showed that As(V)-treated NZVI was gradually converted into magnetite/maghemite corrosion products over 90 days. The XPS study confirmed that 25% As(V) was reduced to As(III) by NZVI after 90 days. As(V) adsorption kinetics were rapid and occurred within minutes following a pseudo-first-order rate expression with observed reaction rate constants (Kobs) of 0.02-0.71 min(-1) at various NZVI concentrations. Laser light scattering analysis confirmed that NZVI-As(V) forms an inner-sphere surface complexation. The effects of competing anions revealed that HCO3-, H4SiO4(0), and H2PO4(2-) are potential interfering agents in the As(V) adsorption reaction. Our results suggest that NZVI is a suitable candidate for As(V) remediation.  相似文献

Juris-Data is one of the largest case-study base in France. The case studies are indexed by legal classification elaborated by the Juris-Data Group. Knowledge engineering was used to design an intelligent interface for information retrieval based on this classification. The aim of the system is to help users find the case-study which is the most relevant to their own.The approach is potentially very useful, but for standardising it for other legal document bases it is necessary to extract a legal classification of the primary documents. Thus, a methodology for the construction of these classifications was designed together with a framework for index construction. The project led to the implementation of a Legal Case Studies Engineering Framework based on the accumulated experimentation and the methodologies designed. It consists of a set of computerised tools which support the life-cycle of the legal document from their processing by legal experts to their consultation by clients.  相似文献

The main objective of this article is the control of tin dioxide preparation process on glass substrate. Layers of pure tin with thicknesses of 500 and 1000 Å are first deposited. Their enrichment with oxygen is ensured by thermal annealing for 1 and 2 h in a continuous tube furnace with temperatures varying between 300 and 500 °C.The tin film formed by vacuum evaporation has tetragonal crystalline structure, and is composed of grains of various sizes separated by grain boundaries. After annealing in oxygen, the formed phases consist of a mixture of SnO and SnO2 crystalline mixtures and sometimes amorphous tin oxide. The more the time or the temperature of annealing, the more the quantity of SnO2 and SnO. For an annealing at 500 °C for 10 h the size of grains increases more than annealing for 2 h. This is confirmed by the study of their micrographs.The electrical resistivity of these layers, measured by the 4 point method, is correlated to the size of the oxide particles: the smaller the particle size, the lower the electrical resistivity.  相似文献
