With video compression standards such as MPEG‐4, a transmission error happens in a video‐packet basis, rather than in a macroblock basis. In this context, we propose a semantic error prioritization method that determines the size of a video packet based on the importance of its contents. A video packet length is made to be short for an important area such as a facial area in order to reduce the possibility of error accumulation. To facilitate the semantic error prioritization, an efficient hardware algorithm for face tracking is proposed. The increase of hardware complexity is minimal because a motion estimation engine is efficiently re‐used for face tracking. Experimental results demonstrate that the facial area is well protected with the proposed scheme. 相似文献

Phase-pure, monodispersed, hexagonal plates of single-crystal α-alumina (∼ 2 μm wide and ∼0.5 μm thick) have been prepared via precipitation by treating an aluminum hydrous oxide precursor in 1,4-butanediol at 300°C under autogenous vapor pressure. Present work shows that KOH is the only reagent that precipitates an aluminum hydrous oxide precursor suitable to synthesize α-alumina in 1,4-butanediol solution. In contrast, the use of NaOH or NH4 OH as the precipitating reagent for the precursor material does not yield the alpha phase. The solution pH at which the precursor materials are precipitated is also a critical factor for the formation of α-Al2 O3 . Phase-pure α-alumina powders were also only synthesized from the aluminum hydrous oxide precursors precipitated in the pH range from 10 to 10.5. The results of X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy indicate that longer reaction times promote the phase transformation from the intermediate boehmite phase to α-alumina. The complete transformation from boehmite to α-alumina requires reaction times of about 12 h. 相似文献

Polycaprolactone (PCL)/starch and PCL/starch/pine‐leaf composites, which can be possibly applied as biodegradable food packaging materials with natural pine flavor, were prepared and characterized in this study. The effect of incorporating a silane coupling agent at different content levels on the physical properties and morphology of the composites was studied. To investigate the melting behavior of the composites, a differential scanning calorimetry was employed. A universal testing machine was used to investigate the tensile properties of the composites and the water absorption properties of the composites were also investigated. Scanning electron microscope was used to investigate the morphology of the composites. The physical properties and morphology of the PCL/starch and PCL/starch/pine‐leaf composites were largely affected by the composition, especially the content of the silane coupling agent. The silane coupling agent led to a much better interfacial compatibility between the PCL matrix and the fillers and resulted in better physical properties of the composites. The PCL/starch/pine‐leaf composite with the silane coupling agent showed a morphology, indicating a good interfacial adhesion between the PCL matrix and the fillers. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Abstract— A new digital ambient‐light sensor system is presented which employs two linear light sensors with different sensitivities and automatically adjusts the sensitivity based on the illumination condition. The adaptation mechanism allows a very wide range of light intensity to be detected, and the input dynamic range of the system is substantially improved from 22.5 to 45.1 dB. The proposed method does not require any additional precision bits for output data. Due to the small number of the output bits and the simple conversion process, the system can be easily integrated on the display panel. 相似文献

Wilson's disease (WD) is characterized by excessive accumulation of intracellular copper in liver and extrahepatic tissues, leading to significant oxidative stress and tissue damage. To date, several diagnostic biomarkers for WD such as serum ceruloplasmin, serum or urine copper levels and copper content in liver have been identified. However, these biomarkers may not be convincing for the diagnosis in some WD patients. To identify additional novel diagnostic biomarkers, we compared the serum protein profiles of asymptomatic childhood WD patients (n=20), without neurologic manifestation or liver cirrhosis, with normal controls (n=13). Fourteen spots, five up‐regulated and nine down‐regulated (>2‐fold), were differentially expressed in WD patients in comparison to normal control on 2‐DE. Among them, three spots were down‐regulated in both male and female WD. MS/MS analysis revealed that the three spots were complement component C3, complement factor B and alpha‐2 macroglobulin. By comparative proteome analysis, complement component C3, complement factor B and alpha‐2 macroglobulin, which are related to oxidative stress and inflammation, turned out to be good candidates for novel diagnostic biomarkers for early stages of WD. 相似文献

This paper proposes an evolutionary accelerated computational level set algorithm for structure topology optimization. It integrates the merits of evolutionary structure optimization (ESO) and level set method (LSM). Traditional LSM algorithm is largely dependent on the initial guess topology. The proposed method combines the merits of ESO techniques with those of LSM algorithm, while allowing new holes to be automatically generated in low strain energy within the nodal neighboring region during optimization. The validity and robustness of the new algorithm are supported by some widely used benchmark examples in topology optimization. Numerical computations show that optimization convergence is accelerated effectively. 相似文献

The presence of protein inclusions, called Lewy bodies (LBs) and Lewy neurites (LNs), in the brain is the main feature of Parkinson’s disease (PD). Recent evidence that the prion-like propagation of α-synuclein (α-syn), as a major component of LBs and LNs, plays an important role in the progression of PD has gained much attention, although the molecular mechanism remains unclear. In this study, we evaluated whether neuronal ApoE regulates the cell-to-cell transmission of α-syn and explored its molecular mechanism using in vitro and in vivo model systems. We demonstrate that neuronal ApoE deficiency attenuates both α-syn uptake and release by downregulating LRP-1 and LDLR expression and enhancing chaperone-mediated autophagy activity, respectively, thereby contributing to α-syn propagation. In addition, we observed that α-syn propagation was attenuated in ApoE knockout mice injected with pre-formed mouse α-syn fibrils. This study will help our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying α-syn propagation. 相似文献

This paper deals with the security robot motion planning in order to stealthily approach the backside of the invader based
on an active prediction planning execution (APPE) strategy. The stealth navigation is needed in the security system because
the invader will try to run away from the robot when it detects the robot. We propose an algorithm for making the robot to
approach the invader stealthily within a desired range. We predict the long-term motion of the invader and plan the security
robot motion by using detection map. It represents the region that the robot can move stealthily on a certain path. The robot
motion can be separately planned as a geometric path and a speed profile using detection map. The path is planned on the predetermined
roadmap. The speed profile is planned so that the robot is not detected by the invader. The simulation results demonstrate
that our algorithm is efficient for shortening the distance between the robot and the invader when the invader first detects
the robot. Our algorithm is compared with the case that does not consider the stealth condition of the robot and the grid-based

Two-dimensional discrete cosine transforms are used in the core transformations in all profiles of the H.264/Advanced video coding (AVC) standard. In this paper, implementing the resource sharing of high throughput 4 × 4 and 8 × 8 forward and inverse integer transforms for high definition H.264 is presented. It is shown that the 4 × 4 forward/inverse transform can be obtained from 8 × 8 forward/inverse transform using selective data input and data arrangement at intermediate stages. Fast 8 × 8 forward and inverse transform is implemented using matrix decomposition and matrix operation such as Kronecker product and direct sum. The proposed implementation does not require any transpose memory and has a dual clocked pipeline structure. Compared with existing designs, the gate count is reduced by 27.7% in the proposed design. The maximum operating frequency of the proposed system is approx. 1.3 GHz, while the throughput is 7 G and 18.7 G pixels/s for 4 × 4 and 8 × 8 forward integer transforms, respectively. The proposed design can be used for real time H.264/AVC high definition processing owing to its high throughput and low hardware cost. 相似文献
