In the present study, we present the first steps of the development of a low power consumption GC microsystem for the analysis of benzene in the presence of butadiene, involved in petrochemical industrial applications. This system is made by coupling a low power consumption planar microhotplate based on a preconcentrator with good preconcentration capability and a spiral microchromatographic column that presents a separation capability of both compounds at room temperature, when tested in front of a gas sensor. The first characterization results of the device showed a successful injection of benzene and butadiene when placed in front of the micro-separation module.  相似文献

Network Function Virtualization (NFV) has been identified to revamp the provisioning of next-generation network services. This new paradigm allows cloud and network/service providers to compose their network services, also known as service function chains (SFCs), in an agile way since the software of the network function is decoupled from the legacy hardware. To reap the benefits of this new technology, there is a need for novel mechanisms that help cloud and network/service providers deploy the increasingly complex virtual network services seamlessly, efficiently, and in a time-efficient way. Existing state-of-the-art techniques often rely on the Integer Linear Programming framework, heuristics/metaheuristics, and greedy methods to deploy the services function chains. However, these techniques although reasonable and acceptable, still suffer from several key limitations: convergence time and scalability. To this end, we propose RAFALE, a suite of solution techniques, to tame this complexity by leveraging the concept of similarity from machine learning and skip-gram modeling framework. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to tackle these key limitations and propose a suite of solutions to them. RAFALE, a novel approach proposed to find the similarity between the new incoming virtual network service request and all the already-deployed services to learn from the previous experience of deploying techniques and use the same or close similar provisioning techniques. RAFALE is the first and the only method that develops the idea of detecting the similarity between virtual network services. Experimental results show that RAFALE reduces greatly the convergence time needed for provisioning virtual network services and can scale to 100 virtual network functions per virtual network service compared to the state-of-the-art. The Experimental results prove that RAFALE accomplished the NFV promises; decreasing the time and complexity of managing and deploying the virtual services, and providing a solution that is agile, faster, and scalable to deploy the new service requests by skipping one or more service provisioning steps (i.e., detecting and resolving the conflicts among policies, placement, and chaining) while satisfying the validated NFV policies.

A study of potential catchment areas in Tunisia recommended that a dam be constructed on the Sidi Aïch Oued in central Tunisia. Although this zone was known for its aridity, the dam would collect runoff waters during periods of exceptional rainfall with the principal aim of ensuring that the water table in the Gafsa was recharged. The geological and hydrogeologic conditions required particular attention to be paid to the foundations of the Sidi Aïch dam to take account of the lithological variability, fracture network and the faults that pass through the dam site. Two treatment techniques were found to be appropriate and were used to enhance the stability and watertightness of the ground in which the dam was to be constructed: contact-consolidation grouting and curtain grouting. Studies were made of the water absorption both before and after the grouting was undertaken. In order to verify the effectiveness of the treatment, cored boreholes were dug which showed the absence of permeable zones immediately below the deep grout curtain, confirming that the work had extended to an appropriate depth. The observed absorption variability in the foundation excavations indicated that a zone of potential high grout take would be encountered. The lateral heterogeneity, observed from one well to another, explained the variable level at which the dam was founded and the differing quantities of grout injected along the length of the grout curtain of the dam. The work concluded that, except for high absorption in localised areas, the main grout take was related to the fractures present in the rock mass.  相似文献

The quinoline-3-carboxamide, linomide, protects non-obese diabetic mice from diabetes. The effects of linomide on insulin needs and beta cell function were studied in recent juvenile Type I diabetes in a double-blind trial. Patients with recent onset diabetes were randomly assigned to treatment with a fixed dose of 2.5 mg linomide (42 patients) or placebo (21 patients) for 1 year, in addition to insulin and diet. Glycated haemoglobin was 10-15% lower at 9 months (p = 0.003) and 12 months (p < 0.05) in the linomide group. The insulin dose was 32-40% smaller in the linomide group at 3 (p < 0.03), 6 (p < 0.02), 9 (p < 0.001) and 12 months (p = 0.01). Insulin doses correlated negatively with C peptide values (p = 0.001-0.002). The trend for higher C peptide values in the linomide group did not reach significance. In a post hoc subgroup analysis performed in 40 patients (25 from the linomide group and 15 from the placebo group) who still had detectable residual beta cell function at entry, linomide was associated with 45-59% higher C peptide value at 6 months (p < 0.05), 9 months (p < 0.05) and 12 months (p < 0.05). The main adverse effects of linomide were mild transitory anaemia (45 vs 10% in the linomide and placebo groups), thrombocytopenia (24 vs 10%), and mild joint discomfort (45 vs 5%) with no clinical signs. In conclusion, low-dose linomide reduced the insulin needs in patients with juvenile Type I diabetes of recent onset and improved beta cell function in patients who still had detectable beta cell function at entry. These results support further clinical and experimental studies to define the effects of linomide in Type I diabetes provided the safety of linomide is reliably established.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study the performance of a combined waste stabilisation pond after three years of functioning and the reuse of treated wastewater for irrigating potatoes and lettuce culture. The combined ponds showed good functioning conditions and excellent performances either for organic load (90%), faecal coliform (6 log units) or helminth eggs (100%) and produced a high and perennial effluent quality. The effluent could be used for non-restrictive irrigation, with a clear improvement of culture production and hygienic quality for both fruits and soil.  相似文献

Clinical islet transplantation is potentially the treatment of choice for people with type I diabetes. Rates of insulin independence in islet transplant recipients are disappointingly low, and the relative contribution of the rejection response compared with the loss of islet function is still unclear. We have compared the mixed lymphocyte islet coculture (MLIC) with the mixed lymphocyte acinar cell coculture (MLAC) and the mixed lymphocyte response (MLR) as in vitro models of allograft rejection to MHC and tissue-specific antigens expressed by human islets and acinar cells. The reduced number of MHC class II antigen-positive cells in islets and acinar tissue compared to those in the stimulator lymphocyte population of the MLR, correlated with a reduced proliferative response in the MLIC and MLAC. Enhancement of MHC class II antigen expression by islets using TNFalpha and IFNgamma did not increase their stimulatory capacity in the islet cocultures, which may have been due to a corresponding absence of B7 expression. The lack of T cell proliferation to acinar cells despite cytokine-induced enhancement of MHC class II expression and detectable B7 expression appeared to be due to the inhibitory effect of exocrine enzymes on lymphocyte proliferation. In conclusion, we suggest that a rejection response to islets and acinar tissue is possible due to the accompanying MHC class II-positive cells and that, in this model, islet and acinar-specific antigens do not significantly contribute to that response. Acinar cells may have the potential to stimulate lymphocytes directly, but this was not evident by proliferation in the MLAC. Rejection appears to contribute to the low survival rate of human islet allografts, but it is unlikely that this is the sole explanation, and other factors should be considered.  相似文献
