Built on the basis of the methods developed for Princeton WordNet and EuroWordNet, Arabic WordNet (AWN) has been an interesting project which combines WordNet structure compliance with Arabic particularities. In this paper, some AWN shortcomings related to coverage and usability are addressed. The use of AWN in question/answering (Q/A) helped us to deeply evaluate the resource from an experience-based perspective. Accordingly, an enrichment of AWN was built by semi-automatically extending its content. Indeed, existing approaches and/or resources developed for other languages were adapted and used for AWN. The experiments conducted in Arabic Q/A have shown an improvement of both AWN coverage as well as usability. Concerning coverage, a great amount of named entities extracted from YAGO were connected with corresponding AWN synsets. Also, a significant number of new verbs and nouns (including Broken Plural forms) were added. In terms of usability, thanks to the use of AWN, the performance for the AWN-based Q/A application registered an overall improvement with respect to the following three measures: accuracy (+9.27 % improvement), mean reciprocal rank (+3.6 improvement) and number of answered questions (+12.79 % improvement).  相似文献

With a high-energy 3rd generation source like the Advanced Photon Source (APS), it is possible to push the performance of polychromatic microdiffraction far beyond current levels and to approach the intrinsic limit of the technique based on sample damage and the diffraction limit of X-rays. We describe ongoing efforts to improve the spatial, temporal and momentum transfer resolution of polychromatic microdiffraction on beamline 34-ID-E at the APS. The goal of this effort is to provide high-resolution images of 3D crystal structures over sufficient volumes and with sufficient detail to clarify the underlying physics of inhomogeneous structure and evolution on mesoscopic length scales. The performance of a high-speed amorphous Si area detector system and the ongoing development of advanced focusing optics will be described and discussed in light of the ultimate limits set by the physics of X-rays and materials, and in light of opportunities to field specialized insertion devices and optics for polychromatic microdiffraction.  相似文献

Most of the hot spring areas in Chile are located along the Andean Cordillera, associated with Quaternary volcanism. The volcanic—geothermal activity is mainly controlled by the subduction processes of the Nazca and Antarctic oceanic plates under the South America continental plate, and occurs at three well-defined zones of the Chilean Andes: the northern zone (17°30′–28°S), the central—south zone (33φ–46°S) and the southern-most or Austral zone (48°–56°S).Some tested high temperature geothermal fields, and geological and geochemical surveys of many other hot spring areas, evidence a great potential of geothermal resources in this country. Both electrical and non-electrical applications of this potential are considered in this paper.Taking into account the potentially available geothermal resources, the development of natural resources, the geographic and social—economic conditions existing in the different regions of Chile, it is concluded that power generation, desalination of geothermal waters, recovery of chemicals from evaporite deposits and brines and sulfur-refining are the main possible applications of geothermal energy in northern Chile; in central—south Chile geothermal energy is suitable for agribusiness such as greenhouses, aquaculture and animal husbandry.  相似文献

The Cordón Caulle geothermal system is located in a NW-trending volcano-tectonic depression of the Southern Andean Volcanic Zone of Chile. Outflows of low chloride water were previously interpreted as the surface expression of a shallow steam-heated aquifer, with subsurface temperatures of 150–170 °C. Gas data from fumaroles and hot springs have been used to assess the nature and temperature of the deeper, underlying geothermal reservoir. Fumaroles at the northeastern border of Cordón Caulle have 3He/4He ratios typical of subduction margins (6–7 RA) and N2/Ar ratios of about 40, indicating deep convection of air-saturated groundwater. Fumaroles at the southwestern border have N2/Ar ratios >300, suggesting the presence of a deep volcanic component. Gas ratios of fumarole discharges yield equilibration temperatures >300 °C, whereas those of hot spring waters suggest temperatures of about 160 °C. Based on these data, and comparisons with well documented liquid and vapor-dominated geothermal systems, a model is proposed of a boiling liquid-dominated geothermal system overlain by a secondary steam-heated aquifer.  相似文献

Computer simulations of nanofocusing by elliptical mirrors are presented wherein the diffraction and propagation of coherent hard x rays are predicted using wave-optical calculations. Surface height data acquired via microstitching interferometry were used to calculate the complex pupil function of a mirror, taking into account the Fresnel reflectivity and treating the surface topography as an aberration to a perfect elliptical mirror. The reflected wave-field amplitude and phase downstream of the mirror were obtained by numerically evaluating the Fresnel-Kirchhoff diffraction integral. Simulated intensity profiles and contours (isophotes) around the focal plane are presented for coherent illumination by a 15 keV point source, which indicate nearly diffraction-limited focusing at the 40 nm level. The effect of high spatial frequency microroughness on nanofocusing was investigated by low-pass filtering the Fourier spectrum of the residual height profile. Simulations using the filtered metrology data confirmed that roughness length scales shorter than 0.1 mm have a minor effect on the focal spot size and intensity.  相似文献

The Puyehue-Cordón Caulle area (40.5°S) hosts one of the largest active geothermal systems of Southern Chile, comprising two main thermal foci, Cordón Caulle and Puyehue. Cordón Caulle is a NW-trending volcanic depression dominated by fumaroles at the top (1500 m) and boiling springs at the northwest end (1000 m). In the latter, the alkaline-bicarbonate composition of the springs with low Mg (<0.06 mg/l) relative to the local meteoric waters (5 mg/l), low chloride (<60 mg/l), high silica (up to 400 mg/l) and δ18O–δD values close to the Global Meteoric Water Line (GMWL), in combination with the large outflow (100 l/s), suggest the existence of a secondary steam-heated aquifer overlying a main vapor-dominated system at Cordón Caulle. Subsurface temperatures of the secondary aquifer are estimated to be about 170–180 °C (corrected silica geothermometers). The Puyehue thermal area, on the other hand, includes Mg-rich hot springs discharging along stream valleys, with maximum temperatures of 65 °C and a δ18O–δD signature resembling the local meteoric composition, which suggests that the surface manifestations contain a reservoir component that is strongly diluted by meteoric waters. Topographic/hydrologic and chemical characteristics suggest that Cordón Caulle and Puyehue represent two separate upflows.  相似文献
