Conductometric study in acetonitrile solution shows the selectivity of PCQ toward europium ion. Therefore, a new europium PVC membrane electrode was prepared based on N-pyridine-2-carboxamido-8-aminoquinoline (PCQ) as an ion carrier. The electrode has a wide concentration range from 1.0 × 10− 2 and 1.0 × 10− 6 mol L− 1, Nernstian slope of 19.8 ± 0.3 mV per decade and a detection limit of 6.4 × 10− 7 mol L− 1. The potentiometric response is pH independent in the range of 2.4-7.4. The proposed sensor has a relatively fast response time less than 10 s and it can be used for at least 2 months without any considerable divergence in its potentials. The proposed electrode revealed good selectivity toward europium ion in comparison with variety of other metal ions. The practical utility of the electrodes has been demonstrated by their use as indicator electrodes in the potentiometric titration of Eu3 + ions with EDTA and for determination of Eu3 + ion concentration in mixtures of two and three different ions.  相似文献

According to a solution study which showed a selective complexation between N,N′-bis(methylsalicylidene)-2-aminobenzylamine (MSAB) and gadolinium ions, MSAB was used as a sensing element in construction of a gadolinium(III) ion selective electrode. Acetophenon (AP) was used as solvent mediator and sodium tetraphenyl borate (NaTPB) as an anion excluder. The electrode showed a good selectivity towards Gd(III) ions over a wide variety of cations tested. The constructed sensor displayed a Nernstian behavior (19.7 ± 0.3 mV/decade) in the concentration range of 1.0 × 10? 6 to 1.0 × 10? 2 mol L? 1 with detection limit of 5.0 × 10? 7 mol L? 1 and a short response time (< 10 s). The working pH range of the electrode was 3.5–10.1 and lifetime of the sensor was at least 10 weeks. Analysis of certified reference materials confirmed the accuracy of the proposed sensor. The electrode was successfully applied as an indicator electrode in gadolinium titration with EDTA.  相似文献

Optical fiber was modified with 3-(methacryloxy)propyltrimethoxysilane and copolymerized with the vinyl end groups and methacrylic to graft a thin layer of molecular imprinted polymer on the surface of the fiber without surface controlling. The modified fiber with phenol-imprinted polymer was coupled with gas chromatograph for headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) of phenol. The extraction properties were examined using the SPME device coupled with a gas chromatograph–flame ionization detector (FID). Effects of extraction parameters, namely pH, exposure time, sampling temperature, and salt concentration, on extraction efficiency were also studied.  相似文献

In this study, a new thulium(III) membrane sensor was constructed. The proposed membrane sensor was fabricated based on a membrane containing 2% sodium tetraphenyl borate (NaTPB) as an anionic additive, 65% benzyl acetate (BA) as solvent mediator, 3% 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol (TN) as ionophore, and 30% poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC). The proposed Tm3+ electrode exhibits a Nernstian response of 19.5 ± 0.2 mV per decade of thulium concentration, and has a lower detection limit of 8.7 × 10? 7 mol L? 1. The linear range of the sensors was 1.0 × 10? 6 to 1.0 × 10? 2 mol L? 1. It works well in the pH range of 3.2–9.5. Moreover, the recommended selective sensor revealed a comparatively satisfactory selectivity regarding most of the alkali, alkaline earth, some transition and heavy metal ions. The membrane sensor was applied to the determination of fluoride ions in mouth wash samples.  相似文献

Prepacked aggregate concrete (PAC) is a special type of concrete which is made by placing coarse aggregate in a formwork and injecting a grout either by pump or under the gravity force to fill the voids. Use of pozzolanic materials in conventional concrete has become increasingly extensive, and this trend is expected to continue in PAC as well. Palm oil fuel ash (POFA) is one of these pozzolanic ash, which has been recognized as a good pozzolanic material. This paper presents the experimental results of the performance behaviour of POFA in developing physical and mechanical properties of prepacked aggregate concrete. Four concrete mixes namely, prepacked concrete with 100% OPC as a control, and PAC with 10, 20 and 30% POFA were cast, and the temperature growth due to heat of hydration and heat transfer in all the mixtures was recorded. It has been found that POFA significantly reduces the temperature rise in prepacked aggregate concrete and delay the transfer of heat to the concrete body. The compressive and tensile strengths, however, increased with replacement up to 20% POFA. The results obtained and the observation made in this study suggest that the replacement of OPC by POFA is beneficial, particularly for prepacked mass concrete where thermal cracking due to extreme heat rise is of great concern.  相似文献

In this research, the polypropylene (PP) sheets used for automotive bumper surface were treated using two methods: air atmospheric gliding arc plasma and flame modifications. Atomic force microscopy was applied to study the morphology of surfaces before and after treatment processes. While calculating the surface free energy (SFE), contact angle of the surfaces was measured, and the chemical composition of the PP surface was analyzed using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Surface modifications by gliding arc plasma increased the ratio of the oxygen and nitrogen atoms on the surface by 100%, indicating that polar chemical functionalities form on the surface. The surface morphology was highly affected by gliding arc plasma treatments, which triggered an impact on roughness and etching. It was also found that the SFE was drastically increased by certain modifications. Noticeable improvement was also observed in wettability by the gliding arc plasma technique. In the next stage, polyurethane paints were coated on the treated and untreated PP surfaces. Then, we examined the flame and gliding arc plasma treatments' effect on coating properties of PP bumper, adhesion analysis, water immersion resistance, and sulfuric acid resistance. Finally, high-pressure carwash test and gloss analysis were conducted on the treated and untreated coated sheets, respectively.  相似文献

This study aimed to achieve a formulation for an additive to produce oxo-biodegradable films that accelerates oxidative degradation of the films after preservation of properties over a span of desired service life. Thermal oxidation behavior of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) films (approximately 250 μm thick) containing various weight ratios of a commercially used phenolic antioxidant (Irganox 1010) to ferric stearate as pro-oxidant has been studied in both melt and solid states. Thermo-oxidative stability in melt state was studied using differential scanning calorimetry. The rate of thermal oxidation in solid state was investigated via oven aging experiments at 90 °C followed by measuring changes in tensile properties, gel content, carbonyl index and density. Comparing thermo-oxidative stability of the HDPE samples containing a combination of Irganox 1010 and ferric stearate with the samples containing Irganox 1010 alone confirmed that ferric stearate reduces the stabilization efficiency of the phenolic antioxidant in the polymer either in melt or in solid state. It was also shown that the efficiency of the phenolic antioxidant in thermo-oxidative stabilization of the polymer in both melt and solid states could be changed by altering weight ratio of Irganox 1010/ferric stearate. On the basis of the obtained results, it was concluded that weight ratio of 0.1/0.1 wt% of the antioxidant to the pro-oxidant is suitable for attaining desired stability during melt processing as well as retaining properties during a reasonable service life when is used as a film and a favorable rate of thermal oxidation after the service life.  相似文献

A new ion-selective electrode for Sm3 + ion is described based on the incorporation of N,N′,N″-tris(4-pyridyl)trimesic amide (TPTA) in a poly(vinylchloride) (PVC) matrix. The membrane sensor comprises nitrobenzene (NB) as a plasticizer, and oleic acid (OA) as an anionic additive. The sensor with the optimized composition shows a Nernstian potential response of 19.8 ± 0.5 mV decade? 1 over a wide concentration range of 1.0 × 10? 2 and 1 × 10? 6 mol L? 1, with a lower detection limit of 4.7 × 10? 7 mol L? 1 and satisfactor applicable pH range of 3.6–9.2. Having a short response time of less than 10 s and a very good selectivity towards the Sm3 + over a wide variety of interfering cations (e.g. alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions) the sensor seemed to be a promising analytical tool for determination of the Sm3 +. Hence, it was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of samarium ion with EDTA. It was also applied to the direct samarium recovery in binary mixtures.  相似文献

Excessive consumption of energy in cloud data centers whose number is increasing day by day has led to substantial problems. Hence, offering efficient schemes for virtual machine (VM) placement to decrease energy consumption in cloud computing environments has become a significant research field in recent years. In this paper, with the goal of reducing energy consumption in cloud data centers, we present a VM placement method using the cultural algorithm. In the proposed algorithm called balance-based cultural algorithm for virtual machine placement (BCAVMP), a new fitness function is introduced to evaluate VM allocation solutions. In this function, by using the sum of balance vector lengths for each VM placement, balanced utilization of resources is considered. Also, by applying the amount of energy usage in the fitness function, solutions with lower energy consumption are intended. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated using CloudSim simulator. The simulation results indicate that by appropriate VM assignment and resource wastage reduction, energy consumption in cloud data centers can be decreased.
