A 48-year-old woman with no cardiovascular risk factors was admitted to the hospital because of acute dyspnea. At 27-year-old, she developed Hodgkin's disease, that was successfully treated with splenectomy, combined chemotherapy (nitrogen mustard, vincristine, procarbazine, prednisone-MOPP regimen) and radiotherapy (4500 rads). At 43-year-old the lymphoma relapsed and she had further chemotherapy with doxorubicin, bleomycin, vinblastina and dacarbazine. After this treatment, she had an episode of pulmonary edema, attributed to doxorubicin acute cardiotoxicity. She responded to digitalis and diuretics and was discharged with an electrocardiogram (ECG) showing left bundle branch block and a normal echocardiogram. The patient enjoyed good health for several years and 4 months before the present admission the ECG and echocardiogram were unchanged. On this admission there were signs of left ventricular failure with acute pulmonary edema, and a new soft apical murmur (3-4 Levine). The patient required endotracheal intubation and high doses of diuretics, digitalis and vasodilators. The cardiac enzymes were negative, the serial ECGs confirmed left bundle branch block, while the echocardiogram showed moderate to severe mitral regurgitation, akinesia of the interventricular septum and inferior wall with dilation of the left ventricle. A previous silent myocardial infarction was suspected. After recovery, she underwent cardiac catheterization confirming akinesia of the interventricular septum and inferior wall with moderate mitral regurgitation, while coronary angiography showed a critical ostial stenosis of the right coronary artery. In view of a dipyridamole-thallium scan negative for myocardial viability, reperfusion was not attempted. With changes in radiotherapeutic techniques, the incidence of radiation-induced heart disease (pericarditis, myocarditis, conduction abnormalities and, rarely, occlusive coronary artery disease) is declining. Nevertheless, after irradiation of the chest and mediastinum a longterm cardiological follow-up is useful in selecting patients at higher risk of radiation-induced coronary artery disease, who will eventually require coronary angiography and reperfusion intervention.  相似文献

Set-membership (SM) identification, which refers to a class of algorithms using certain a priori knowledge about a parametric model to constrain the solutions to certain sets, is considered. The focus is on a class of SM-based techniques that are of particular interest in applications requiring real-time processing. The optimal bounding ellipsoid (OBE) algorithms are interpreted as a blending of the classical least-square error minimization approach with knowledge of bounds on model errors arising from SM considerations. Using this interpretation, a general framework embracing all currently used OBE algorithms is developed, and strategies for adaptation and for implementation on parallel machines are discussed. Computational complexity benefits are considered for the various algorithms. The treatment is tutorial, leaving many of the formal details to an appendix that presents an archival theoretical treatment of the key results. Low-temperature wet chemical bath deposition (CBD) method is one of the most efficient and least hazardous solution-based techniques which is widely employed to grow ZnO NRs. In CBD method, a seed layer is usually deposited on the substrate. In this paper, high quality ZnO and aluminum doped ZnO (AZO) seed layers are sputtered on the indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass. In continue, aligned ZnO NRs are grown on the AZO and ZnO seed layers via CBD technique. The effect of the growth time and seed layer on the physical properties of as-grown ZnO NRs are investigated. According to the results, the seed layer plays an essential role on the growth orientation and growth rate of the ZnO NRs. The ZnO NRs grown on AZO seed layer are more aligned rather than ZnO seed layer due to their higher texture coefficients. The relative photoluminescence (PL) intensity ratio of near band emission (NBE) to deep level emission (DLE) (INBE/IDLE) for the ZnO NRs grown on AZO and ZnO seed layers are calculated as 7.45 and 2.62, respectively. To investigate the performance of the as-grown ZnO NRs, near ultraviolet organic light-emitting diodes (UV-OLEDs) using ZnO NRs array as n-type material and poly [2-methoxy-5-(2-ethyl-hexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene-vinylene] (MEH-PPV) conjugated polymer as p-type material have been fabricated. The total concentration of traps (Nt), the characteristic energies (Et) and the turn-on voltages for the devices with the structures of ITO/AZO/ZnO NRs/MEH-PPV/Al (device A) and ITO/ZnO/ZnO NRs/MEH-PPV/Al (device B) are attained 7.65 × 1016 and 7.75 × 1016 cm?3, 0.232 and 0.206 eV, 23 and 21 V, respectively. Moreover, based on the electroluminescence (EL) spectra, the NBE peaks for device A and B are obtained nearly in the wavelengths of 382 and 388 nm, respectively. Finally, various charge carrier transportation processes of prepared UV-OLEDs have been studied, systematically.  相似文献

Multiparous (n = 70) and primiparous (n = 66) Holstein cows were balanced by 305-d previous mature-equivalent milk yield and parity and assigned to 1 of 3 dietary treatments to evaluate the ratio of zinc sulfate to zinc amino acid complex (CZ) in pre- and postpartum Holstein cows fed diets containing 75 mg of added zinc/kg. Treatments were (1) 75 mg of supplemental zinc/kg of dry matter (DM) provided entirely as zinc sulfate (0-CZ); (2) 0-CZ diet, except 33.3 mg of zinc sulfate/kg of DM in the prepartum and 15.5 mg of zinc sulfate/kg of DM in the postpartum diet were replaced by CZ from Availa-Zn (16-CZ; Zinpro Corp., Eden Prairie MN); and (3) 0-CZ diet, except 66.6 mg of zinc sulfate/kg of DM in the prepartum and 40.0 mg of zinc sulfate/kg of DM in the postpartum diet was replaced by Availa-Zn (40-CZ). Cows were housed at the Iowa State University Dairy Farm and were individually offered a total mixed ration containing dietary treatments beginning at 28 ± 15 d before expected calving date until 250 d in milk. Relative to 0-CZ, multiparous cows (but not primiparous) fed CZ (16-CZ or 40-CZ) had increased (20%) colostrum IgG concentrations. Prepartum DM intake (DMI) was decreased with CZ supplementation. Postpartum DMI was decreased in cows fed CZ, whereas milk yield (MY) was increased in the 40-CZ-fed cows relative to those fed both 0-CZ and 16-CZ. Feed efficiency increased linearly when measured as MY/DMI, 3.5% fat-corrected MY/DMI, and solids-corrected MY/DMI. Regardless of level, feeding CZ decreased services per conception. Feeding 16-CZ decreased milk fat concentration and feeding CZ linearly increased milk urea nitrogen concentration. In summary, supplementing zinc as a mixture of CZ and zinc sulfate, as opposed to supplementing only zinc sulfate, has beneficial effects on production parameters in dairy cows, with those benefits becoming more apparent as the ratio of CZ to zinc sulfate increases.  相似文献

Conventional optimal bounding ellipsoid (OBE) algorithms require a priori knowledge of error bounds which is unknown in most applications. Conservative (overestimated) error bounds used in practice may lead to inconsistent parameter estimation. This paper presents an enhanced OBE algorithm that is proven to be consistently convergent without a priori knowledge of error bounds. Only a lower bound of the ‘tail probability’ of the disturbance process is required. Video compression performance of High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is about twice of H.264/AVC video compression standard. The improvement in coding efficiency in HEVC is achieved by considerable increase in the computational load compared to H.264/AVC which is substantially very computational intensive. One of the units in HEVC which has changed considerably compared to H.264/AVC is Integer Discrete Cosine Transform (IDCT) unit. IDCT in HEVC standard includes 32 × 32, 16 × 16, 8 × 8 and 4 × 4 transforms. In this paper, a hardware solution for implementing the entire inverse IDCTs in HEVC decoder is proposed. The proposed hardware has a resource-sharing pipelined architecture. As a result, the hardware resources and computation time for implementing inverse IDCTs in HEVC decoder are reduced. Synthesis results by using NanGate OpenPDK 45 nm library indicate that the proposed hardware can achieve 222 MHz clock rate and can achieve real-time decoding of 4096 × 3072 video sequences with 70 fps.  相似文献

We analyze an integrated electrically pumped opto-electronic mixer, which consists of two InP/GaInAs hetero junction bipolar transistors(HBT), in a cascode configuration. A new HBT with modified physical structure is proposed and simulated to improve the frequency characteristics of a cascode mixer. For the verification and calibrating software simulator, we compare the simulation results of a typical HBT, before modifying it and comparing it with empirical reported experiments. Then we examine the simulator on our modified proposed HBT to prove its wider frequency characteristics with better flatness and acceptable down conversion gain. Although the idea is examined in several GHz modulation, it may easily be extended to state of the art HBT cascode mixers in much higher frequency range.  相似文献

Female fertility in Holstein cattle can decline when intense genetic selection is placed on milk production. One approach to improving fertility is to identify the genomic regions and variants affecting fertility traits and then incorporate this knowledge into selection decisions. The objectives of this study were to identify or refine the positions of the genomic regions associated with lactation persistency, female fertility traits (age at first service, cow first service to conception, heifer and cow nonreturn rates), longevity traits (herd life, indirect herd life, and direct herd life), and lifetime profit index in the North American Holstein dairy cattle population. A genome-wide association study was performed for each trait, using a single SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism) regression mixed linear model and imputed high-density panel (777k) genotypes. No associations were identified for fertility traits. Several peak regions were detected for lifetime profit index, lactation persistency, and longevity. The results overlap with previous findings and identify some novel regions for lactation persistency. Previously proposed causative and candidate genes supported by this work include DGAT1, GRINA, and CPSF1, whereas new candidate genes are SLC2A4RG and THRB. Thus, the chromosomal regions identified in this study not only confirm several previous findings but also highlight new regions that may contribute to genetic variation in lactation persistency and longevity-associated traits in dairy cattle.  相似文献
