We have developed a diffusion-controlled size-selective method for sensing chloride ion in the presence of bromide ion, based on a thin, nanoporous, plasma-polymerized coating of hexamethyldisiloxane on an Ag/AgCl electrode. Sub-nanometer-sized pores responsible for a highly cross-linked polymer network in the plasma-polymerized coating allowed diffusion-controlled permeation of chloride ion while blocking the larger bromide ion. An electrode coating of thickness greater than 70 nm enabled chloride detection in the concentration range 1-10 mM in the presence of 0.63 mM bromide ion. Advantages of this approach are: (1) simple design compared with ionophore-based strategies and (2) compatibility with microfabrication and mass production processes. 相似文献

Knowledge acquisition is one of the most important and problematic aspects of developing knowledge-based systems. Many automated tools have been introduced in the past, however, manual techniques are still heavily used. Interviewing is one of the most commonly used manual techniques for a knowledge acquisition process, and few automated support tools exist to help knowledge engineers enhance their performance. The paper presents a knowledge conceptualization tool (KCT) in which the knowledge engineer can effectively retrieve, structure, and formalize knowledge components, so that the resulting knowledge base is accurate and complete. The KCT uses information retrieval technique to facilitate conceptualization, which is one of the human intensive activities of knowledge acquisition. Two information retrieval techniques employing best-match strategies are used: vector space model and probabilistic ranking principle model. A prototype of the KCT was implemented to demonstrate the concept. The results from KCT are compared with the outputs from a manual knowledge acquisition process in terms of amount of information retrieved and the process time spent. An analysis of the results shows that the process time to retrieve knowledge components (e.g., facts, rules, protocols, and uncertainty) of KCT is about half that of the manual process, and the number of knowledge components retrieved from knowledge acquisition activities is four times more than that retrieved through a manual process 相似文献

Inhibition of plasma endothelin-1 concentration by captopril in patients with essential hypertension
The aim of this study was to determine whether captopril has any effect on plasma endothelin-1 (ET-1) concentration in patients with essential hypertension. Nine normotensives and eleven hypertensives were included in this study. Blood pressure and pulse rate were monitored before and at 60 min after captopril ingestion (25 mg). Simultaneously, blood samples for plasma ET-1 and plasma renin activity (PRA) determination were obtained. In the normotensives, captopril treatment resulted in a significant rise in PRA, but without statistical changes in blood pressure and plasma ET-1. By contrast, in the hypertensives, although PRA elevated similarly after captopril, both blood pressure and plasma ET-1 decreased significantly compared with their respective preloading level. These data suggest that the blood pressure-lowering effect of captopril in essential hypertension may be at least in part, mediated by its inhibition of ET-1 production from the vascular endothelium. 相似文献

Interaction of cation-exchange membrane with polycation I. Poly(N-methyl-4-vinylpyridinium chloride)
We elucidated the effect of the molecular weight of poly(N-methyl-4-vinylpyridinium chloride) (PMVP) on its adsorbed or ion-exchanged amount on the cation-exchange membrane and the preferntial permselectivity of the membrane for sodium ion to calcium ion. The amount of the adsorbed or ion-exchanged PMVP increases with time and then attains to a definite value at a definite concentration. Also, the ultimate value increases with increasing the concentration of PMVP. When the molecular weight of PMVP is 3090, the ratio of the pyridinium groups of PMVP ion-exchanged with the sulfonic acid groups on the membrane surface to the total pyridinium groups of the cohered PMVP is in the range of 70–80%. The relative transport number of calcium ions to sodium ions(PNaCa) decreases with increasing the amount of adsorbed or ion-exchanged PMVP and the numbe rof non-ion-exchanged pyridinium groups of PMVP and the number of non-ion-exchanged pyridinium groups of PMVP on the membrane surface. The smaller the molecular weight of PMVP, the more the adsorbed or ion-exchanged amount and the more preferable the permselectivity for sodium ion. 相似文献

Using shorter wavelength for exposure light is one way to achieve high resolution while keeping sufficient depth of focus. We show exposure results for high resolution to confirm the effect of deep UV exposure light. p-wave and s-wave superconducting phases. The effect of nonmagnetic impurities on the vortex core radius is numerically investigated

Abstract— A color management system (CMS) such as ICC profile or sRGB space have been proposed for color transformation and reproduction of cross media. In such a CMS, accurate colorimetric characterization of a display device plays a critical role in achieving device‐independent color reproduction. In the case of a CRT, colorimetric characterization based on a GOG model is accurate enough for this purpose. However, there is no effective counterpart in liquid‐crystal displays (LCDs) since the characterization of an LCD has many difficulties, such as channel interaction and non‐constancy of channel chromaticity. In this paper, a new method of display characterization is proposed which is applicable to the assessment of color reproduction of LCDs. The proposed method characterizes an electro‐optical transfer function considering both channel interaction and non‐constancy of channel chromaticity.
