Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are promising alternatives for the estimation of suspended sediment concentration (SSC), but they are dependent on the availability data. This study investigates the use of an ANN model for forecasting SSC using turbidity and water level. It is used an original method, idealized to investigate the minimum complexity of the ANN that does not present, in relation to more complex networks, loss of efficiency when applied to other samples, and to perform its training avoiding the overfitting even when data availability is insufficient to use the cross-validation technique. The use of a validation procedure by resampling, the control of overfitting through a previously researched condition of training completion, as well as training repetitions to provide robustness are important aspects of the method. Turbidity and water level data, related to 59 SSC values, collected between June 2013 and October 2015, were used. The development of the proposed ANN was preceded by the training of an ANN, without the use of the new resources, which clearly showed the overfitting occurrence when resources were not used to avoid it, with Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency (NS) equals to 0.995 in the training and NS = 0.788 in the verification. The proposed method generated efficient models (NS = 0.953 for verification), with well distributed errors and with great capacity of generalization for future applications. The final obtained model enabled the SSC calculation, from water level and turbidity data, even when few samples were available for the training and verification procedures.  相似文献

This study focuses on the processing of vitrified floor tiles incorporated with a petroleum oily sludge. Floor tile formulations containing up to 5 wt% of the petroleum oily sludge in replacement of kaolin were prepared. The tile formulations were granulated by the dry process, pressed, and fired at temperatures between 1200 and 1250 °C using a fast-firing cycle. The specimens were characterized before and after firing. XRD was used to identify the crystalline phases present during sintering and SEM was used to show how the structure changes during densification. Three parameters were used to describe densification: linear shrinkage, water absorption, and flexural strength. The results showed that the petroleum oily sludge could be used as an alternative raw material in the floor tile formulations. The densification behavior of the floor tile pieces is influenced by the petroleum oily sludge addition and firing temperature. The vitrified floor tiles produced reached the technical characteristics of porcelain floor tiles, depending on petroleum oily sludge content and firing temperature.  相似文献

OBJECT: To investigate whether hand-arm vibration and noise have a combined effect on temporary threshold shift (TTS) of hearing among healthy subjects. METHOD AND DESIGN: Nineteen healthy subjects with an average age of 25.7 (SD 7.7) years were exposed to vibration (30 m/s2, 60 Hz), noise [90 dB(A)] and both, respectively. The subject's right hand was placed on the plate of a vibrator and the right ear exposed to noise via headphones. Subjects were exposed to vibration and/or noise for 3 min and after a 1-min pause the exposure was repeated five times. Hearing thresholds at 1, 4 and 6 kHz were measured during the time periods before, between (during pauses) and after exposure. RESULTS: Exposure to vibration alone caused almost no hearing threshold changes at every frequency tested. But exposure to noise or a combination of vibration and noise caused a significant increase in TTSs at 4 and 6 kHz. Moreover, exposure to a combination of vibration and noise caused significantly higher TTSs than exposure to noise at 4 and 6 kHz. CONCLUSION: The present results demonstrate the combined effects of hand-arm vibration and noise can enhance exposure to hand-arm vibration and noise can enhance the TTS of hearing more than noise exposure, though hand-arm vibration alone may hardly affect TTS.  相似文献

Analyzing gene expression patterns is becoming a highly relevant task in the Bioinformatics area. This analysis makes it possible to determine the behavior patterns of genes under various conditions, a fundamental information for treating diseases, among other applications. A recent advance in this area is the Tricluster algorithm, which is the first algorithm capable of determining 3D clusters (genes × samples × timestamps), that is, groups of genes that behave similarly across samples and timestamps. However, even though biological experiments collect an increasing amount of data to be analyzed and correlated, the triclustering problem remains a bottleneck due to its NP-Completeness, so its parallelization seems to be an essential step towards obtaining feasible solutions. In this work we propose and evaluate the implementation of a parallel version of the Tricluster algorithm using the filter-labeled-stream paradigm supported by the Anthill parallel programming environment. The results show that our parallelization scales well with the data size, being able to handle severe load imbalances that are inherent to the problem. Further more, the parallelization strategy is applicable to any depth-first searches.  相似文献

Glycidyl azide‐r‐(3,3‐bis(azidomethyl)oxetane) copolymers were synthesized by cationic copolymerization of epichlorohydrin and 3,3‐bis(bromomethyl)oxetane, using butane‐1,4‐diol as an initiator and boron trifluoride etherate as a catalyst, followed by azidation of the halogenated copolymer. The main objective of this work is the preparation of an OH‐terminated amorphous polymer with energetic content higher than that of the well‐known glycidyl azide homopolymer. The effect of experimental conditions, i.e., the rate of monomer feeding, on the final molecular weight and functionality of the copolymer has also been investigated. The obtained copolymers were extensively characterized to determine their composition and thermal stability. The heat of reaction for the polymerization of the halogenated key precursors has also been measured. It was found that even though both the operating conditions and the catalytic system were chosen in order to favor a living character of the polymerization, the final product seems to be the result of a combined living and active chain end mechanism. In particular, the latter is responsible for the formation of oligomers and not hydroxyl‐terminated chains. Nevertheless, the average number of OH groups is high enough to allow a cross‐linking of the polymeric chains, by addition of polyisocyanates and subsequent formation of inter‐chain urethanic bonds.  相似文献

This work focuses on the reuse of grits waste, from cellulose industry, as a raw material to replace traditional carbonate material in ceramic wall tiles. Wall tile formulations bearing up to 15?wt% of the grits waste were prepared for replacement of calcareous. The tile manufacturing route consisted of dry powder granulation, uniaxial pressing, and firing at temperatures ranging from 1100?°C to 1180?°C by using a fast-firing cycle. The wall tile specimens were tested to determine their physical and mechanical properties (linear shrinkage, water absorption, apparent porosity, apparent density, breaking strength, and flexural strength). The firing behavior, phase transformations, and microstructure were evaluated by dilatometry, XRD, and SEM. The results showed that the fired wall tile specimens are composed of anorthite and quartz, as major mineral phases, and mullite as a minor phase. It was found that the grits waste had a positive influence on the properties and microstructure of the wall tile specimens. The results also revealed that the grits waste from cellulose industry could be used as a total replacement of traditional calcareous material in wall tile formulations.  相似文献

Shape preserving design of vibrating structures using topology optimization   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
In several engineering components, the shape of some functional surfaces needs to be preserved in order to avoid losing performance or even its functionality when subjected to loads. This is particularly important when tight tolerances are required for operational conditions in some regions. If the deformation significantly affects product functionality, it is interesting to use a shape preserving design technique. This will often reduce deformation in a local region. To achieve that, we deal with topology optimization of elastic, continuum structures with Rayleigh damping, subjected to time-harmonic, design-independent external dynamic loading with prescribed excitation frequency, amplitude and spatial distribution. In topology optimization for vibrating structures, the obtained design should often have its resonance frequencies driven far away from the given excitation frequency in order to avoid resonance and to reduce vibration levels. In this work, we explore harmonic vibration problems with the excitation frequency lower than the first resonance frequency of the initial structure. Dynamic compliance minimization is used to improve dynamic response of the structure. An additional local dynamic compliance constraint is used to define the shape preserving problem, thus, reducing deformation in specific regions of a part named shape preserving region (SPR). A commercial FE code (ANSYS?) is used to solve the finite element problem. The optimization Method of Moving Asymptotes (MMA) is used with the modified Solid Isotropic Material with Penalization (SIMP) material interpolation scheme. The effectiveness of this technique is presented using 2D plane structures. Coherent results were achieved using the proposed optimization formulation. It is possible to observe significant decrease on local deformation, at expense of little increase on global dynamic compliance.  相似文献

ABSTRACT:  Industrial shrimp waste is a good source of protein, chitin, and carotenoids. In general, this waste is discarded with no attempt to use it, thus contributing to environmental pollution. This study was aimed at recovering the 3 main components of industrial shrimp waste, protein, chitin, and astaxanthin, using enzymatic treatment with Alcalase and pancreatin. An increase in the degree of hydrolysis (DH) from 6% to 12% resulted in 26% to 28% protein recovery. Alcalase was more efficient than pancreatin, increasing the recovery of protein from 57.5% to 64.6% and of astaxanthin from 4.7 to 5.7 mg astaxanthin/100 g of dry waste, at a DH of 12%. The enzymatic hydrolysis of the industrial waste from Xiphopenaeus kroyeri shrimp using Alcalase allowed for 65% protein recovery in the form of hydrolysates, in addition to providing suitable conditions for the recovery of astaxanthin and chitin.  相似文献
