Gene expression data play a significant role in the development of effective cancer diagnosis and prognosis techniques. However, many redundant, noisy, and irrelevant genes (features) are present in the data, which negatively affect the predictive accuracy of diagnosis and increase the computational burden. To overcome these challenges, a new hybrid filter/wrapper gene selection method, called mRMR-BAOAC-SA, is put forward in this article. The suggested method uses Minimum Redundancy Maximum Relevance (mRMR) as a first-stage filter to pick top-ranked genes. Then, Simulated Annealing (SA) and a crossover operator are introduced into Binary Arithmetic Optimization Algorithm (BAOA) to propose a novel hybrid wrapper feature selection method that aims to discover the smallest set of informative genes for classification purposes. BAOAC-SA is an enhanced version of the BAOA in which SA and crossover are used to help the algorithm in escaping local optima and enhancing its global search capabilities. The proposed method was evaluated on 10 well-known microarray datasets, and its results were compared to other current state-of-the-art gene selection methods. The experimental results show that the proposed approach has a better performance compared to the existing methods in terms of classification accuracy and the minimum number of selected genes.

In recent years, the molecular subtyping of gastric cancer has led to the identification of novel clinically relevant biomarkers as well as promising therapeutic targets. In parallel, the advent of checkpoint inhibitors has expanded treatment options beyond conventional chemotherapy. Compelling evidence has shown unprecedented efficacy results for anti-PD1-based therapies in the molecular subgroups of dMMR/MSI-h, EBV+ and PD-L1 CPS+ patients, to the point that these are granted approval for gastric cancer adenocarcinoma (AGC) in several countries. Despite this, cytotoxic chemotherapy remains the only treatment choice for the considerable proportion of biomarkers-negative patients. In this context, little is known about the association between subtypes-defining biomarkers (HER2, MMR/MSI, PD-L1, and EBV) and the efficacy of standard chemotherapy in non-Asian AGC. Here, we aimed to investigate the prevalence, the clinic-pathologic features, and the impact on treatment outcome of clinical molecular subtypes in a new-diagnosed Western cohort of AGC.  相似文献

The optical and dielectric characteristics of hydrochemically deposited films of lead sulfide (PbS) and supersaturated substitutional solid solutions of the PbS-ZnS system have been studied by the ellipsometry techniques. It is established that the formation of solid solutions leads to an increase in the refractive index and a decrease in the imaginary part of the complex dielectric constant as compared to those of pure PbS films. An increase in the content of ZnS in the solid solution us accompanied by a significant decrease in the dielectric loss tangent.  相似文献

A binary Al-Ti master alloy of hyperperitectic composition, whose structural characteristics ensure high modifying efficiency, has been prepared by the aluminothermy method. The treatment of the alloy by low-frequency vibrations (LFVs) and its interaction with the carbon emitter of LFVs in the process of crystallization lead to the formation of a ternary Al-Ti-C alloy containing titanium aluminide Al3Ti and titanium carbide TiC. The presence of these phases creates favorable conditions for the formation of solidification nuclei in the aluminum melt when using a ternary master alloy as a modifier. A comparison of the efficiency of the structure refinement when using experimental master alloys and the standard Al-Ti master alloy poured into a metallic chill mold has been performed.  相似文献

DNA repair was measured in human fibroblasts, mouse C3H 10 T 1/2 fibroblsts and rat hepatocytes by the non-semi-conservative incorporation of [3H]-TdR during DNA repair synthesis using liquid scintillation techniques. Confluent monolayers of these cells grown on cover slips were exposed to split doses (125 or 250 microgram/ml) of the mutagenic and carcinogenic alkylating agent MNU and DNA repair synthesis compared with that produced by a single dose (500 microgram/ml). No significant difference in DNA repair capacity was detected in the three cell lines treated with a single dose or split doses of MNU.  相似文献

Thin films of supersaturated Zn x Pb1 ? x S solid solutions containing up to 4.1 mol % ZnS have been obtained by hydrochemical deposition. The dependence of the material structure and surface morphology on the film composition has been studied. It is established that an increase in the content of zinc sulfide leads to the growth of grains with a more complicated crystalline structure, the formation of grain boundary fragments with dimensions from 60 to 100 nm, and a modification of the electrical properties of deposited layers.  相似文献

In 1989, we reported our thoughts on the neurophysiological and anatomic aspects of pudendal nerve involvement in certain types of perinal pain. Since that time, the surgical approach has been modified. Here we report our follow-up of 40 patients with 48 operated nerves. Follow-up ranged from 6 months to 7 years and outcome revealed improvement in 67% and no change in 33%. Thus surgery had been useful in two-thirds of the cases; in 44% of the patients, there was either a frank improvement or no change. Early diagnosis appears to be the determining factor in improving results. Operating for the canal syndrome must be performed before lesions to the nervous trunk become too important.  相似文献

Quantifying change after large habitat restoration efforts is critical to assessing the effort's success. After river restoration activities, fish abundance is expected to increase and also fluctuates naturally by season and with environmental conditions. A side‐looking hydroacoustic system was used to estimate fish abundance in the Penobscot River, ME, from 2010 to 2016 during predam (2010–2013) and postdam (2014–2016) removal years during nonice periods. Automated data processing enabled continuous abundance estimates from fish tracks. A threefold increase in mean fish abundance was recorded after dam removal. A fourfold increase in median fish abundance occurred in the fall relative to spring and summer of the same year, regardless of dam presence. Interannual fish abundance in every season monitored increased at least twofold after dam removal. We related variability in fish abundance to tide, discharge, temperature, diurnal cycle, daylength, moon phase, and restoration activities (focusing on dam presence). Daylength corresponding to the fall and summer was the most important indicator for higher fish abundance. Fish abundance was generally greatest in the fall during outgoing tides at night, with lesser peaks occurring during the month of June at night. Before dam removal, fish abundance peaked when water temperature was less than 9.25°C, at night, during outgoing tides. After dam removal, fish abundance peaked when daylength was less than 11.3 hr, at night, during outgoing tides, when water temperature was above 4.56°C and no full moon was present. Peak fish abundance occurred during only 0.02–2.3% of the total time sampled. The threefold increase in fish abundance recorded after dam removal was observed despite yearly stocking efforts of adult alewife increasing 24% in postdam removal years. Finally, parallel studies of fish presence in the Penobscot River were used to compare the utility of this method as an indicator of fish abundance in response to dam removal.  相似文献
