Introduced in the early stages of software development, the Charmy framework assists the software architect in making and evaluating architectural choices. Rarely, the software architecture of a system can be established once and forever. Most likely poorly defined and understood architectural constraints and requirements force the software architect to accept ambiguities and move forward to the construction of a suboptimal software architecture. Charmy aims to provide an easy and practical tool for supporting the iterative modeling and evaluation of software architectures. From an UML-based architectural design, an executable prototype is automatically created. Charmy simulation and model checking features help in understanding the functioning of the system and discovering potential inconsistencies of the design. When a satisfactory and stable software architecture is reached, Java code conforming to structural software architecture constraints is automatically generated through suitable transformations. Many architectural languages have been proposed in the last 15 years, each one with the chief aim of becoming the ideal language for specifying software architectures. What is evident nowadays, instead, is that architectural languages are defined by stakeholder concerns. Capturing all such concerns within a single, narrowly focused notation is impossible. At the same time, it is also impractical to define and use a “universal” notation, such as UML. As a result, many domain-specific notations for architectural modeling have been proposed, each one focusing on a specific application domain, analysis type, or modeling environment. As a drawback, a proliferation of languages exists, each one with its own specific notation, tools, and domain specificity. No effective interoperability is possible to date. Therefore, if a software architect has to model a concern not supported by his own language/tool, he has to manually transform (and, eventually, keep aligned) the available architectural specification into the required language/tool. This paper presents DUALLy, an automated framework that allows architectural languages and tools interoperability. Given a number of architectural languages and tools, they can all interoperate thanks to automated model transformation techniques. DUALLy is implemented as an Eclipse plugin. Putting it in practice, we apply the DUALLy approach to the Darwin/FSP ADL and to a UML2.0 profile for software architectures. By making use of an industrial complex system, we transform a UML software architecture specification in Darwin/FSP, make some verifications by using LTSA, and reflect changes required by the verifications back to the UML specification.  相似文献

Software components are specified, designed and implemented with the intention to be reused, and they are assembled in various contexts in order to produce a multitude of software systems. However, in the practice of software development, this ideal scenario is often unrealistic. This is mainly due to the lack of an automatic and efficient support to predict properties of the assembly code by only assuming a limited knowledge of the properties of single components. Moreover, to make effective the component-based vision, the assembly code should evolve when things change, i.e., the properties guaranteed by the assembly, before a change occurs, must hold also after the change. Glue code synthesis approaches technically permit one to construct an assembly of components that guarantees specific properties but, practically, they may suffer from the state-space explosion phenomenon.In this paper, we propose a Software Architecture (SA) based approach in which the usage of the system SA and of SA verification techniques allows the system assembler to design architectural components whose interaction is verified with respect to the specified properties. By exploiting this validation, the system assembler can perform code synthesis by only focusing on each single architectural component, hence refining it as an assembly of actual components which respect the architectural component observable behaviour. In this way code synthesis is performed locally on each architectural component, instead of globally on the whole system interactions, hence reducing the state-space explosion phenomenon.The approach can be equally well applied to efficiently manage the whole reconfiguration of the system when one or more components need to be updated, still maintaining the required properties. The specified and verified system SA is used as starting point for the derivation of glue adaptors that are required to apply changes in the composed system. The approach is firstly illustrated over an explanatory example and is then applied and validated over a real-world industrial case study.  相似文献

Next generation collaborative systems will offer mobile users seamless and natural collaboration amongst a diversity of agents, within distributed, knowledge-rich and virtualized working environments. This ambitious goal faces numerous challenges from the underlying communication infrastructure to the high level application services, with the aim to provide services with the appropriate quality (such as persistence, synchronization, and security). Most currently available tools supporting collaboration address either rather traditional and rigid intra-organizational collaboration scenarios or, at the opposite, completely free and unstructured open communities’s interactions. Emerging dynamic, flexible and ad hoc collaboration schemes are hardly or not supported at all. The POPEYE framework offers collaborative services for applications that aim to enable spontaneous collaboration over P2P wireless ad hoc groups, where fixed infrastructure is not a prerequisite, where virtual communities can emerge spontaneously and share data with the appropriate quality of service for business applications (persistence, synchronization, security, etc.).  相似文献
