The valorization and promotion of worldwide Cultural Heritage by the adoption of Information and Communication Technologies represent nowadays some of the most important research issues with a large variety of potential applications. This challenge is particularly perceived in the Italian scenario, where the artistic patrimony is one of the most diverse and rich of the world, able to attract millions of visitors every year to monuments, archaeological sites and museums. In this paper, we present a general recommendation framework able to uniformly manage heterogeneous multimedia data coming from several web repositories and to provide context-aware recommendation techniques supporting intelligent multimedia services for the users—i.e. dynamic visiting paths for a given environment. Specific applications of our system within the cultural heritage domain are proposed by means of real case studies in the mobile environment related both to an outdoor and indoor scenario, together with some results on user’s satisfaction and system accuracy.  相似文献

The effects of two gamma-ray doses (1.5 kGy and 2.0 kGy) on some biochemical aspects and on the microbiological profile of black truffles was monitored, immediately after treatment and after 30 days of storage at 4 °C. Electrophoretic and chromatographic analyses of proteins and peptides, just like monitoring of polyphenol content, peroxides formation and microbial profile, allowed for the first time a better understanding of the mechanisms responsible for biochemical alterations and bacterial pattern in black truffles during their storage. Treatment at 1.5 kGy appeared to better preserve the characteristics of the fresh product. In 2.0 kGy-samples, the protein profile was characterised by a 20 kDa-polypeptide, which could be considered as an useful marker of the irradiation treatment and of the storage time of the product. MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry analysis did not permit a correct identification from tryptic peptides in databases, although the nano-ES/MS/MS analyses performed on the 10 kDa tryptic digest peptides showed an amino acidic sequence entirely contained in a protein of filamentous fungus Neurospora crassa.  相似文献

The modern smartphones contain different sensor technologies, so they can be used as stand-alone measurement instruments on a wide range of application domains. The paper deals with a survey of measurement applications based on smartphones. In the first part, the evolution of mobile phone technologies, including the sensors and mobile networks developments, is presented. Then, in order to highlight the sensors and the communication capabilities, the architectural overview of the hardware and software technologies, which are available on latest series of smartphones, is reported and discussed. A review of measurements applications using the smart sensors and the communication interfaces available on smartphones, it is also presented. A classification of smartphone applications, which looks the smartphone as a handheld measurement instrument, is presented. In the last part, the integration of augmented reality to the measurement applications and new type of measurement systems, having a smartphone as processing support, is presented.  相似文献

Scope: Milk proteins are a source of bioactive peptides. Recent studies have indicated that protein‐derived peptides released in buffalo cheese acid whey exert a cytomodulatory effect in human epithelial colon cancer (CaCo2) cells. The aim of the present study was to explain the molecular mechanism involved in the response of CaCo2 cells to oxidative stress in the presence of peptide fractions of buffalo cheese whey, purified and characterized by mass spectrometry. Methods and results: We demonstrated that treatment of CaCo2 treated with H2O2 (H‐CaCo2) cells with a partially purified peptide sub‐fraction (f3) from buffalo cheese acid whey induced a reduction of mitochondrial superoxide anion with subsequent decrease in heat shock protein 70 and 90 expression. Moreover, we observed a 5‐fold decrease in cyclin A expression and cell cycle arrest in G1/G0 phases. These responses were associated with increased activity of alkaline phosphatase and beta‐galactosidase, markers of differentiation and senescence respectively. Conclusions: The structural characterization of the active peptide fraction and the elucidation of the effects induced by its treatment on H‐CaCo2 cells in vitro demonstrated an activity of this peptide sub‐fraction in the modulation of cell cycle, thus suggesting potential application for the development of nutraceuticals as well as health‐promoting functional foods.  相似文献

The current standard of care for advanced non-small-cell lung cancer is based on detecting actionable mutations that can benefit from targeted therapy. Comprehensive genetic tests can have long turn-around times, and because EGFR mutations are the most prevalent actionable mutation, a quick detection would enable a prompt initiation of targeted therapy. Furthermore, the scarcity of diagnostic material means that sometimes only cytologic material is available. The Idylla™ EGFR assay is a real-time PCR–based method able to detect 51 EGFR mutations in 2.5 h. Idylla is validated for use only on FFPE sections, but some researchers described their experiences with cytological material. We reviewed the relevant literature, finding four articles describing 471 cases and many types of cytological input material: smears, cell-block sections, suspensions, and extracted DNA. The sensitivity, specificity, and limit of detection appear comparable to those obtained with histological input material, with one exception: the usage of scraped stained smears as input may reduce the accuracy of the test. In conclusion, usage of cytological material as input to the Idylla EGFR test is possible. A workflow where common mutations are tested first and fast, leaving rarer mutations for subsequent comprehensive profiling, seems the most effective approach.  相似文献

In this work, we propose a novel multimedia summarization technique from Online Social Networks (OSNs). In particular, we model each Multimedia Social Network (MSN)—i.e. an OSN focusing on the management and sharing of multimedia information—using an hypergraph based approach and exploit influence analysis methodologies to determine the most important multimedia objects with respect to one or more topics of interest. Successively, we obtain from the list of candidate objects a multimedia summary using a summarization model together with an heuristics that aims to generate summaries with priority (with respect to some user keywords), continuity, variety and not receptiveness features. The performed experiments on Flickr shows the effectiveness of proposed approach.  相似文献

Planktic diatoms are the largest primary producers in marine and freshwater habitats. Their dry biomass accumulates up to 50% of lipids and contains water-soluble β-1,3-glucans as major storage products. Because of the world-wide abundance of these photosynthetic protists, β-1,3-glucans may rival cellulose as the polysaccharide with the highest annual production on Earth. Here we show the feasibility of a simple and efficient process leading to bio-hydrogen by dark fermentation of microalgal biomass with the thermophilic bacterium Thermotoga neapolitana. Production of the biogas on minimum medium supplemented only with the extract of the diatom Thalassiosira weissflogii proved that algal biomass per se can serve as substrate for sustaining the biotechnological process with no requirement of any pretreatment and external integration of other nutrients. At the same time, lipids unused for the anaerobic production of the biogas, can be employed for production of bio-diesel, thus considerably increasing the economic potential of these renewable feedstocks.  相似文献

The safeguard of river buffalo Mozzarella cheese, a Protected Designation of Origin dairy product, has prompted an analytical study to trace the milk and curd used as raw material in cheesemaking. This is to prevent the illegal use of milk or curd from different geographical areas outside of those indicated in the official production protocol. For this purpose, we studied primary proteolysis occurring in fresh and frozen milk and curd to identify a molecular marker that could indicate the raw material used. Whole casein from frozen river buffalo milk was separated using cation-exchange chromatography and sodium dodecyl sulfate-PAGE, and a protein component with an estimated molecular weight of 15.3 kDa was detected. This protein component was revealed in fresh river buffalo milk as a faint electrophoresis band, which drastically increased in intensity in refrigerated and frozen milk as well as in curd and was found to be associated with β-CN through hydrophobic interaction. By using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight peptide mass mapping, this component was identified as the C-terminal fragment f(69-209) of β-CN (expected molecular weight of 15,748.8 Da). β-Casein f(69-209), originating from the early hydrolysis of Lys68-Ser69 by plasmin, has no counterpart in bovine milk. The increased rate of hydrolysis by plasmin toward the cleavage site Lys68-Ser69 has to be ascribed to the elevated proline content of the peptide 61-73. The favored production of β-CN f(69-209) has also drawn attention to the complementary proteose peptone β-CN f(1-68) that is presumed to play a physiological role in inducing milk secretion similar to that of β-CN f(1-29). The higher in vivo and in vitro production rate, compared with γ1-CN formation, indicates that β-CN f(69-209) and its complementary fragment are candidate molecular markers to evaluate milk and curd freshness. We used indirect ELISA analysis based on the determination of remaining nonhydrolyzed β-CN to perform a quantitative evaluation of proteolysis.  相似文献

A study was undertaken on Cacioricotta, a traditional Italian goat’s cheese obtained from overheated milk (90 °C) without use of starter. The profile of proteolysis in the artisanal type, made with vegetable coagulant (latex released from caprifig branches) as milk clotting agent, was compared to that of the “industrial” one, manufactured with calf rennet. Particular aim of the investigation was to study the differences and, possibly, establish a useful tool for distinguishing the two types of cheese. The study was based on the quantification of the water soluble, 15% TCA soluble and amino acid nitrogen fractions, RP-HPLC separation of low molecular weight peptides and their identification by mass spectrometry (MALDI-ToF MS). The use of fig latex was associated to higher amounts of the nitrogen fractions and to RP-HPLC chromatograms very rich in peptides, in contrast to an almost complete lack of peptides in the industrial counterpart. These results confirm the strong proteolyitic activity exerted by the caprifig clotting enzymes in spite of the intense overheating of the milk, which is considered to cause reduction of the rate of casein degradation in cheese. The MS-based identification of several peptides provided a support at the molecular level for the characterization of Cacioricotta made with this vegetable coagulant and could be useful for “tracing back” purposes. In conclusion, the peptide pattern determined by the use of caprifig for milk coagulation can be considered a particular feature of the artisanal Cacioricotta, giving confirmation of its vocation to EU protection as typical product.  相似文献
