A new method is presented for analyzing the effects of self-absorption on photoluminescence integrating sphere quantum yield measurements. Both the observed quantum yield and luminescence spectrum are used to determine the self-absorption probability, taking into account both the initial emission and subsequent absorption and reemission processes. The analysis is experimentally validated using the model system of the laser dye perylene red dispersed in a polymer film. This approach represents an improvement over previous methods that tend to overestimate the true quantum yield, especially in cases with high sample absorbance or quantum yield values.  相似文献

The race between the development of technologies and energy demand has drawn the guidelines of energy strategies for the next two decades. Indeed, the governmental organizations as well as the private sectors are spending huge effort to come up with new adequate strategies that allow to decrease energy consumption. Having said that, heat pump becomes an essential system in our daily life not only in residential building but also in hospital, industrial and touristic building. Nonetheless, (HP)s have very high energy consumption rate. Thus, and to be in line with the new trends in energy strategies, it is convenient to find new methods to enhance the performance of heat pump in order to reduce energy consumption. In this frame, the present paper suggests an approach to enhance the performance the heat pumps using the heat recovery from generators. For this purpose, an in-house code is developed allowing to simulate two new proposed systems (condenser upstream exhaust gases heat recovery system (CU-EGHRS) and condenser downstream exhaust gases heat recovery system (CD-EGHRS). It has been shown that the increase in the performance of the heat pump depends on the capacity of the generator. Also, the CD-EGHRS is shown to be the best. For instance, in the case of a 15 kVA generator, the enhancement could reach 42% for the CD-EGHRS. This enhancement increases to 5640% in the case of a 180 kVA generator.  相似文献

This paper presents a primal-dual path-following interior-point method for the solution of the optimal power flow dispatching (OPFD) problem. The underlying idea of most path-following algorithms is relatively similar: starting from the Fiacco-McCormick barrier function, define the central path and loosely follow it to the optimum solution. Several primal-dual methods for OPF have been suggested, all of which are essentially direct extensions of primal-dual methods for linear programming. Nevertheless, there are substantial variations in some crucial details which include the formulation of the non-linear problem, the associated linear system, the linear algebraic procedure to solve this system, the line search, strategies for adjusting the centring parameter, estimating higher order correction terms for the homotopy path, and the treatment of indefiniteness. This paper discusses some of the approaches that were undertaken in implementing a specific primal-dual method for OPFD. A comparison is carried out with previous research on interior-point methods for OPF. Numerical tests on standard IEEE systems and on a realistic network are very encouraging and show that the new algorithm converges where other algorithms fail.  相似文献

A thermo-mechanical model is adopted in order to investigate the fire behaviour of clay masonry walls. In this analysis, conductive, convective and radiative thermal transfers are considered together with local energy consumption due to phase changes. These latter are essentially initiated by both the vaporisation of adsorbed water and the chemical transformation of clay under rising temperatures. Therefore, experimental tests at both the material scale and the brick scale are performed in order to identify the parameters that characterise the thermo-hygral behaviour of clay. For this purpose, numerical simulations are carried out on the experimentally tested hollow bricks in order to determine by back analysis these material parameters. The thermal model being validated, the thermo-mechanical behaviour of a masonry wall subjected to fire, is thereafter investigated by adopting a full three-dimensional finite-element analysis. Numerical simulations results are compared to the experimentally measured ones in terms of both temperature and out-of plane displacement fields. In this analysis, it is shown that a non-linear elastic behaviour for bricks and mortar with temperature-dependent mechanical parameters is sufficient to retrieve the overall behaviour of thin masonry walls. Finally, a parametric study provides the influence of each material parameter on the fire behaviour of the partition walls.  相似文献

A numerical solution of the two-dimensional Saint Venant equations is presented for the study of the propagation of the floods through the crossroads of the city. The numerical scheme is a Runge-Kutta discontinuous Galerkin method (RKDG) with a slope limiter. The work studies the robustness and the stability of the method. The study is organized around three aspects: the prediction of the water depths, the location of the right and oblique hydraulic jumps in the crossing, and especially the distribution of the flow discharges in the downstream branches. The objective of this paper was to use the RKDG method in order to simulate supercritical flow in crossroads and to compare these simulations with experimental results and to show the advantage of this RKDG method compared to a second-order finite-volume method. A good agreement between the proposed method and the experimental data was found. The method is then able to simulate the flow patterns observed experimentally and to predict accurately the water depths, the location of the hydraulic jumps, and the discharge distribution in the downstream branches.  相似文献

Research and development activities relating to the grid have generally focused on applications where data is stored in files. However, many scientific and commercial applications are highly dependent on Information Servers (ISs) for storage and organization of their data. A data-information system that supports operations on multiple information servers in a grid environment is referred to as an interoperable grid system. Different perceptions by end-users of interoperable systems in a grid environment may lead to different reasons for integrating data. Even the same user might want to integrate the same distributed data in various ways to suit different needs, roles or tasks. Therefore multiple mediator views are needed to support this diversity. This paper describes our approach to supporting semantic interoperability in a heterogeneous multi-information server grid environment. It is based on using Integration Operators for generating multiple semantically rich RDF/OWL-based user defined mediator views above the grid participating ISs. These views support different perceptions of the distributed and heterogeneous data available. A set of grid services are developed for the implementation of the mediator views.  相似文献

Interlaminar fracture properties of melt-infiltrated woven SiC/SiC ceramic matrix composites were investigated using traditional and wedge-loaded double cantilever beam methods. The two methods produced comparable GIC results for some specimens. The difference in boundary conditions between the two methods appeared to influence the crack propagation path. The DCB method, having free-end boundary condition, allowed more interaction between the crack and the composite microstructure than the wedge method did. The effect of fiber tow layout sequence had an effect on the interlaminar properties. Higher toughness was observed for the orientation where crack propagation occurs between planes with more transverse tows. Jump-arrest phenomenon was found to have higher significance on the rising R-curve behavior than fiber bridging.  相似文献

Breast cancer (BC) is the most predominant type of cancer among women. The aim of this study is to find new biomarkers that can help in early detection of BC, especially for those who are too young to be screened using mammography as per guidelines. Using microRNA microarray, we previously showed dysregulation of 74 microRNAs in tumors from early BC patients as compared with normal adjacent tissues, which we were interested in studying in blood circulation. In this study, we investigated the expression of 12 microRNA (miR-21/miR-155/miR-23a/miR-130a/miR-145/miR-425-5p/miR-139-5p/miR-451/miR-195/miR-125b/miR-100, and miR-182) in the plasma of 41 newly diagnosed Lebanese BC patients with early invasive ductal carcinoma as compared with 32 healthy controls. Total RNA was extracted from plasma, and expression levels of miRNA of interest were measured using RT-qPCR followed by statistical analysis; miR-21, miR-155, miR-23a, miR-130a, miR-145, miR-425-5p, and miR-139-5p were significantly upregulated and miR-451 was significantly downregulated, in the plasma of BC patients as compared with healthy controls. The positively correlated miR-23a, miR-21, and miR-130a had a high diagnostic accuracy (86%). Importantly, the combination of miR-145/miR-425-5p/miR-139-5p/miR-130a scored the highest diagnostic accuracy of 95% with AUC = 0.97 (sensitivity 97% and specificity 91%). MicroRNAs are promising non-invasive diagnostic biomarkers for early-stage BC with the panel of miR-145/miR-425-5p/miR-139-5p/miR-130a having the highest diagnostic accuracy.  相似文献
