Recent increase in the number of digital photos in the content sharing and social networking websites has created an endless demand for techniques to analyze, navigate, and summarize these images. In this paper, we focus on image collection summarization. Earlier methods in image collection summarization consider representativeness and diversity criteria while recent ones also consider other criteria such as image quality, aesthetic or appeal. In this paper, we propose a multi-criteria context-sensitive approach for social image collection summarization. In the proposed method, two different sets of features are combined while each one looks at different criteria for image collection summarization: social attractiveness features and semantic features. The first feature set considers different aspects that make an image appealing such as image quality, aesthetic, and emotion to create attractiveness score for input images while the second one covers semantic content of images and assigns semantic score to them. We use social network infrastructure to identify attractiveness features and domain ontology for extracting ontology features. The final summarization is provided by integrating the attractiveness and semantic features of input images. The experimental results on a collection of human generated summaries on a set of Flickr images demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed image collection summarization approach. 相似文献

Summary Nonlinear natural convection in a mushy layer during solidification of a binary alloy is investigated under a high gravity environment where the rotation axis is inclined to the high gravity vector. Asymptotic and scaling analyses are applied to convective flow within the mushy layer and in vertical chimneys. The main result is that, for some particular moderate rotation range, vertical velocity in the chimneys decreases rapidly with increasing rotation rate and appears to have opposite signs across some rotation dependent vertical level. 相似文献

Summary Finite amplitude fluid motion is investigated in a horizontal layer of an infinite Prandtl number fluid with an upper free surface for the case where thermocapillary effects are significant and gravitational effects are negligible. It is found that subcritical instability exists and that two-dimensional rolls and down-hexagons (where motion is downward at the cells' centers) are always unstable. There is some evidence from epidemiology that intake of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) from seafood may protect against coronary artery disease (CAD). This hypothesis is further supported from animal data showing a beneficial effect of n-3 PUFA on thrombosis and atherosclerosis in animals fed fish oils in most, but not all, studies. There are several mechanisms by which an increased intake of marine n-3 PUFA may protect against CAD; the most universal finding is a reduction of plasma triglycerides. It is puzzling, however, that a very low amount of n-3 PUFA, with no known beneficial biochemical effects, seems to be cardioprotective. It has therefore been of paramount interest to perform clinical trials. Such evidence and trials are discussed in later chapters, and the results have been very encouraging. 相似文献

Smoke deposition from a hot smoke layer onto wall surfaces was studied in a hood apparatus using polymethylmethacrylate, polypropylene, and gasoline as fuels. Based upon prior analysis by Butler and Mulholland, the smoke deposition was expected to be dominated by thermophoresis. The deposited smoke samples were collected on glass filter paper attached to the hood wall and the mass per unit area of smoke deposited was measured gravimetrically. Measurements were made of quantities required for the prediction of thermophoretic smoke deposition. The smoke deposition measured in the experimental program was well predicted by the thermophoretic smoke deposition equation. The thermophoretic smoke deposition equation was found to be suitable for predicting smoke deposition onto wall surfaces exposed to fire environments. 相似文献

An experimental method is presented to determine the amount of resin flow within a composite laminate during cure. The method is analogous to the use of radioactive tracers in other applications. Heavier elements such as chlorine and bromine, which may be naturally present in small amounts in epoxy resins are used to follow resin flow and mixing. The presence and the quantity of these “tags” is determined using wavelength dispersive X-ray analysis in a scanning electron microscope. With the resins in this study, it is shown that it is possible to measure volume fractions of resin with accuracies ranging from ±0.5 to ±3 volume %. By using brominated resin in only one layer of a laminate, the degree of flow and mixing can be followed accurately. The results suggest that there is considerable resin mixing as well as flow. 相似文献

River water management is challenging not only since they are open systems with changing physical structures, but also because the water values are mostly unknown over varied sectors. If policymakers grasp water values, water management will be more efficient. This research intends to examine the values of water in agriculture, which receives the most substantial portion of water resources, with the values of water in the environment in Isfahan located in the Zayandehrood River basin of Iran. The consequences of contingent valuation and production function methods revealed that per cubic metre value of water is 13 times higher in the environment than agriculture. The government should reconsider the higher value of the environment despite it is a non‐market value. The contingent valuation model additionally proved that women exhibited 21% more willingness to pay than men in order to protect the environment; however, they are paid less by 36%. 相似文献
