With the use of in vivo fluorescence microscopy we have analyzed microvascular reperfusion injury of small bowel isograft transplants in rats. Following 1 hr cold storage in University of Wisconsin solution, the small bowel was transplanted heterotopically, and the intestinal microcirculation was quantitatively analyzed 20-60 min after onset of reperfusion. The intestinal grafts' capillary perfusion of both the mucosa and the circular and longitudinal muscles was not found altered when compared with the intestinal capillary perfusion of sham-operated controls. In contrast, leukocyte-endothelial cell interaction, including leukocyte rolling (40 +/- 5%) and sticking (280 +/- 100 mm-2) in submucosal postcapillary venules, was significantly increased when compared with nontransplanted controls (12 +/- 8% and 20 +/- 10 mm-2, P < 0.01 and P < 0.05, respectively). Leukocyte-endothelial cell interaction was associated with a marked alteration of lymphatic capillary drainage, as indicated by the low functional density of lymphatic microvessels of 10.2 +/- 6.1 cm-1 (P < 0.01 vs. sham-operated controls (39.2 +/- 6.1 cm-1)). From these results we propose that leukocyte-endothelial cell interaction, not capillary "no-reflow," is the primary step in the manifestation of microvascular reperfusion injury following a short period of cold ischemia in small bowel grafts.  相似文献

Application of pulsed electric fields (PEF) in combination with mild thermal treatment was studied to extend the shelf life of whole milk. Five pulses with peak electric field strength of 35 kV/cm and pulse width of around 2.3 μs were applied to milk at 65 °C and sustained for less than 10 s. Shelf life of the milk was extended by a minimum of 24 days. A synergistic interaction between PEF and mild thermal treatment was found. Neither the severe PEF treatment applied at lower temperatures, nor the mild thermal treatment equivalent, including longer treatment times than used in this study, could significantly extend the shelf life of milk. However, the combination of both PEF and mild temperature extended milk's shelf life adequately. The use of a thermal regeneration system improved the energy efficiency of the studied preservation process making it highly competitive with pasteurization.  相似文献

Structural optimization problems involving dynamic behaviour constraints often exhibit nonconvex design spaces. The direct application of a global optimization algorithm requires a large number of function evaluations which in turn require a large number of dynamic structural analyses. This work presents a strategy aimed at finding the global optimum for problems with transient dynamic behaviour constraints based on approximation concepts. The method consists of generating and solving a sequence of approximate problems using a global optimizer. The approximations are explicit and capture most of the inherent nonconvexity of the exact functions. A simple example. problem is presented to illustrate the procedure set forth.  相似文献

A SQUID magnetometer can be used to measure the magnetic field produced by flaws in a two-dimensional, conducting plate carrying a current. Identification of the flaw-induced magnetic field is difficult because of the large magnetic field associated with the edges of the plate and the current in the leads that connect the plate to the power supply. We have developed a technique by which the wire and edge fields can be cancelled prior to mapping the magnetic field. In this technique, a similar unflawed conducting sheet is placed adjacent to the flawed plate, with a connection between the sheet and the plate at one edge, and with the opposite edges of the sheet and of the plate connected to the two conductors of a coaxial cable. Thus, an applied current will flow along one conductor of the cable, across the cancelling sheet, cross into the flawed plate, return along the plate, and then return to the power supply along the other conductor of the coaxial cable. As a result of this geometry, there is no magnetic field from the lead-in wires because they are coaxial, and the magnetic field due to the edges of the plate is cancelled by the opposing magnetic field of the edges in the adjacent sheet. The extent of cancellation is determined primarily by the separation between the plate and the cancelling sheet, by the thickness of the plate, and by macroscopic inhomogeneities in their electrical conductivities.  相似文献

中国空前的城市化速度与规模亟需更先进的规划设计策略。探索基于形态学的区域设计研究教学方法,从而制定体现中国大都市区特征的空间策略。在设计课程背景下,介绍了以形态学主题为基础的探索性棋盘博弈这一方法论,并应用到粤港澳大湾区空间转型的场景设计中。评估了香港理工大学设计学院和代尔夫特理工大学城市学系连续4年的一系列合作成果。1)沿着设计课程的流程,阐明了教学轨迹。2)调查了不同形态学主题如何影响学生的设计成果,对比了成果的空间特异性以及设计提案的激进程度。3)探讨了是否部分形态学主题更适用于大湾区社会文化与环境的特殊性。在6次课程中,学生们研究了8个形态学主题:点状、线状、条状、巨型街区、放射状、环状、交叉状和边缘状。实践表明存在冗余的主题,因此对主题的进一步确立值得深入研究。需要指出,2所大学的设计课程存在差异,这似乎也影响了棋盘博弈法在各自课程中扮演的作用。整体而言,此教学方法论可以产生远超传统空间规划的设计策略。因此,以形态学主题为基础的棋盘博弈是一套充满前景的方法论,并且今后有望结合更多利益相关方的参与,进行进一步深化和测试。  相似文献

Abstract  

Rhenium sulfide based catalysts were prepared by the incipient wetness impregnation method over alumina and silica supports and evaluated for 4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene hydrodesulfurization in a high-pressure stirred-tank reactor. The catalyst prepared over silica was about six times more active for hydrodesulfurization than the corresponding catalyst prepared over alumina and a NiMo/Al2O3 industrial reference catalyst. This surprising and positive SiO2 support effect was explained by a metallic character of the supported sulfide, which was demonstrated using a kinetic approach of competitive hydrogenations and by XPS characterization.  相似文献

Impregnation of polymeric foams with ceramic suspensions has been widely employed in industry to fabricate ceramic filters of various shapes and controlled pore size at a reduced processing cost. Ceramic filters find application in cast metal industry to remove the undesired impurities from the melt, leading to products of higher quality. This paper reports a complete study on the fabrication of fibre-reinforced alumina filters. Rheological measurements of ceramic suspensions showed that the slip adherence on polymer substrate was largely improved when thickening agent was incorporated into the compositions, as a result of the increase in pseudoplasticity and in viscosity. Thermomechanical evaluation of the filters produced with fibre addition revealed that the fibre reinforcement improved the mechanical performance and reduced the damage by applied thermal stresses. Strengthening and toughening of the ceramic matrix has been explained based on the fibre properties, fibre-matrix interface strength and thermal expansion mismatch that may occur in mixed systems.  相似文献

This paper is part of a project whose aim is the implementation of closed-loop control of ankle angular position during functional electrical stimulation (FES) assisted standing in paraplegic subjects using natural sensory information. In this paper, a neural fuzzy (NF) model is implemented to extract angular position information from the electroneurographic signals recorded from muscle afferents using cuff electrodes in an animal model. The NF model, named dynamic nonsingleton fuzzy logic system is a Mamdani-like fuzzy system, implemented in the framework of recurrent neural networks. The fuzzification procedure implemented was the nonsingleton technique which has been shown in previous works to be able to take into account the uncertainty in the data. The proposed algorithm was tested in different situations and was able to predict reasonably well the ankle angular trajectories especially for small excursions (as during standing) and when the stimulation sites are far from the registration sites. This suggests it may be possible to use activity from muscle afferents recorded with cuff electrodes for FES closed-loop control of ankle position during quite standing.  相似文献

The keyboard is a device that, with its many switches, provides us with an interface that is reliable but also very unnatural. The mouse is only slightly less primitive, being an electro-mechanical transducer of musculoskeletal movement. Both have been with us for decades, yet they are unusable for people with severe musculoskeletal disorders and are themselves known causes of work-related upperlimb and back disorders, both hugely widespread problems [1], [2]. It will be a major contribution to computer interface technology one day to be able to replace mouse and keyboard with Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) capable of directly interpreting the desires and intentions of computer users.  相似文献
