Discourse parsing has become an inevitable task to process information in the natural language processing arena. Parsing complex discourse structures beyond the sentence level is a significant challenge. This article proposes a discourse parser that constructs rhetorical structure (RS) trees to identify such complex discourse structures. Unlike previous parsers that construct RS trees using lexical features, syntactic features and cue phrases, the proposed discourse parser constructs RS trees using high‐level semantic features inherited from the Universal Networking Language (UNL). The UNL also adds a language‐independent quality to the parser, because the UNL represents texts in a language‐independent manner. The parser uses a naive Bayes probabilistic classifier to label discourse relations. It has been tested using 500 Tamil‐language documents and the Rhetorical Structure Theory Discourse Treebank, which comprises 21 English‐language documents. The performance of the naive Bayes classifier has been compared with that of the support vector machine (SVM) classifier, which has been used in the earlier approaches to build a discourse parser. It is seen that the naive Bayes probabilistic classifier is better suited for discourse relation labeling when compared with the SVM classifier, in terms of training time, testing time, and accuracy.  相似文献

In Bacillus subtilis, CodW peptidase and CodX ATPase function together as a distinctive ATP-dependent protease called CodWX, which participates in protein degradation and regulates cell division. The molecular structure of CodX and the assembly structure of CodW-CodX have not yet been resolved. Here we present the first three-dimensional structure of CodX N-terminal (N) and C-terminal (C) domain including possible structure of intermediate (I) domain based on the crystal structure of homologous Escherichia coli HslU ATPase. Moreover, the biologically relevant CodWX (W(6)W(6)X(6)) octadecamer complex structure was constructed using the recently identified CodW-HslU hybrid crystal structure. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation shows a reasonably stable structure of modeled CodWX and explicit behavior of key segments in CodX N and C domain: nucleotide binding residues, GYVG pore motif and CodW-CodX interface. Predicted structure of the possible I domain is flexible in nature with highly coiled hydrophobic region (M153-M206) that could favor substrate binding and entry. Electrostatic surface potential observation unveiled charge complementarity based CodW-CodX interaction pattern could be a possible native interaction pattern in the interface of CodWX. CodX GYVG pore motif structural features, flexible nature of glycine (G92 and G95) residues and aromatic ring conformation preserved Y93 indicated that it may follow the similar mode during the proteolysis mechanism as in the HslU closed state. This molecular modeling study uncovers the significance of CodX N and C domain in CodWX complex and provides possible explanations which would be helpful to understand the CodWX-dependent proteolysis mechanism of B. subtilis.  相似文献

This work is concerned with the performance of diamond-like carbon (DLC) coated Ti-6Al-4V flat samples fretted against alumina ball in two environments—ambient air and simulated body fluid (Ringer solution). Hydrogenated DLC (H-DLC) coatings were prepared by radio frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition process. Raman scattering measurements were done on the coatings. Fretting wear tests were conducted at different normal loads using a fretting wear test rig working on scotch yoke mechanism. Wear scars on the tested specimens were observed using an optical microscope. Wear volume was calculated based on wear scar diameter measured along parallel and perpendicular to the fretting direction. Tangential force coefficient (TFC) values exhibited by DLC coated samples were lower than those exhibited by uncoated specimens in both ambient air and Ringer solution. Very low TFC values and low wear volume were observed for H-DLC coated samples tested in air at lower loads of 1.9 N and 4.9 N. It was attributed to occurrence of graphitisation and formation of transfer layer on alumina ball.  相似文献

The CFD analysis of flow and temperature distribution in heating ovens used in bakery shop, to keep the foodstuffs warm, is attempted using finite element technique. The oven is modelled as a two-dimensional steady state natural convection heat transfer problem. Effects of heater location and total heat input on temperature uniformity of foodstuffs are studied. Placing the heater at the bottom of the oven improves the air circulation rate by 17 times and 10 times than that at the top and side of the oven. But the top location provides better uniformity in foodstuff temperature than the other cases. Side location is not preferable. In the present ovens, the heating elements are located at the top. The analysis shows that if heaters are located at the bottom along with additional flow guidance arrangements, energy efficient oven configuration can be obtained.  相似文献

Hydrogenated diamond-like carbon (DLC) (H-DLC), argon-incorporated DLC (Ar-DLC) and nitrogen-incorporated DLC (N-DLC) coatings were deposited on flat rectangular Ti-6Al-4V samples. The DLC coatings were characterised by Raman spectroscopy and nanoindentation. Fretting wear tests were conducted on uncoated and DLC coated samples with an alumina ball as the counterbody. As the Ar-DLC and N-DLC coatings had relatively more sp2 network compared to the H-DLC coating, they exhibited lower values of hardness and elastic modulus. At both loads of 4.9 N and 14.7 N, all DLC coated specimens showed lower values of tangential force coefficient (TFC), wear volume and specific wear rate compared to the uncoated samples. While the Ar-DLC coated sample exhibited the lowest TFC, wear volume and specific wear rate at 4.9 N load, the N-DLC coated specimen exhibited the lowest TFC, wear volume and specific wear rate at 14.7 N load.  相似文献

The Tirukural is a classic Tamil Sangam literature authored by Thiruvalluvar. Tirukural comprises of 1130 kuratpas. It has been translated into 37 world languages. This necessitates the cross-lingual access of Tirukural on the World Wide Web for which a bilingual dictionary is the primary knowledge base (KB). This KB needs to be constructed. This article puts forth a methodology for automatic construction of a bilingual dictionary for Tirukural in two different languages: Tamil and English. The proposed methodology makes use of the English and Tamil explanatory texts of Tirukural. Explanatory texts in English written by G.U. Pope and that in Tamil by Dr Varadharajan and Dr Solomon Pappaiya are considered in this work. A three-layered model is built using Tirukural and its explanations. Naive Bayes probabilistic learning is used to learn the best mappings between the Tamil and English words. The proposed methodology has been tested with all the 1330 Tamil kuratpas. An efficiency of 70% has been achieved and a performance comparison has been done by using different types of English and Tamil explanatory texts. This method can further be extended to build bilingual dictionaries for other Tamil literatures.  相似文献

Natural fiber composite materials are one such capable material which replaces the conventional and synthetic materials for the practical applications where we require less weight and energy conservation. The present paper, which emphasis the importance of the newly identified snake grass fibers which are extracted from snake grass plants by manual process. In this paper, the tensile properties of the snake grass fiber are studied and compared with the traditionally available other natural fibers. The mixed chopped snake grass fiber reinforced composite is prepared by using the isophthallic polyester resin and the detailed preparation methodology is presented. Fiber pull-outs on the fractured specimen during the physical testing of the composites are also investigated. The experimental evidence also shows that the volume fraction increases the tensile, flexural strength and modulus of the snake grass fiber reinforce composite.  相似文献

Hereditary hearing loss (HHL) is a common genetic disorder accounting for at least 60% of pre-lingual deafness in children, of which 70% is inherited in an autosomal recessive pattern. The long tradition of consanguinity among the Qatari population has increased the prevalence of HHL, which negatively impacts the quality of life. Here, we functionally validated the pathogenicity of the c.178G>C, p.E60Q mutation in the MYO6 gene, which was detected previously in a Qatari HHL family, using cellular and animal models. In vitro analysis was conducted in HeLa cells transiently transfected with plasmids carrying MYO6WT or MYO6p.E60Q, and a zebrafish model was generated to characterize the in vivo phenotype. Cells transfected with MYO6WT showed higher expression of MYO6 in the plasma membrane and increased ATPase activity. Modeling the human MYO6 variants in zebrafish resulted in severe otic defects. At 72 h post-injection, MYO6p.E60Q embryos demonstrated alterations in the sizes of the saccule and utricle. Additionally, zebrafish with MYO6p.E60Q displayed super-coiled and bent hair bundles in otic hair cells when compared to control and MYO6WT embryos. In conclusion, our cellular and animal models add support to the in silico prediction that the p.E60Q missense variant is pathogenic and damaging to the protein. Since the c.178G>C MYO6 variant has a 0.5% allele frequency in the Qatari population, about 400 times higher than in other populations, it could contribute to explaining the high prevalence of hearing impairment in Qatar.  相似文献
